  1. Bye bye wonky Lexus badges on the boot lid :D So here she is debadged and polished: And then with the Aristo badge back on there:
  2. I'm looking forward to seeing it, glad it's actually coming out after all the hassle they had with it!
  3. I don't think so mate, purely the 300 I believe mate :)
  4. Was thinking about that mate, at the moment it's a daily driver so would be a lot of hassle but that may change in the future in which case I'm definitely getting one :D
  5. Actually you are right about the grey bit, it has been a while
  6. Cheers fella, you should keep yours mate, I'm really getting into this again now, just been stupidly busy with work and what not the last couple of years but I've got a feeling the bug is starting to bite again I forgot about that banner, I've had signatures turned off for ages - something to do now the sun is out :D
  7. The Blitz sounds really good mate, is it the Nur Spec with the slash cut? It's not boy racer loud but it sounds really good :)
  8. Cheers dude, black is a PITA isn't it! Looks like it's going to hammer down shortly! At least a few days of rain will wash most of the salt away anyways :)
  9. It did as well this morning, from here the car looks as shiny as still, not dared go up close to really check it out yet Might see you next week fella, will drop you a text when I have all the details, not booked the hotels yet :o
  10. Cheers Gord, it does look a different car now :D Only problem is it's making me want a couple more bits now :o
  11. That's what I meant mate, having a brain fart at the minute there! Just ordered the Toyota badge so no excuses now! Might even rip these off today and get the ready for when it turns up :)
  12. Mike used to swear by this one so it should make a massive difference :)
  13. This is the one: http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/ind...c=24634&hl=
  14. This one actually can be fixed, it's flex under the accellerator pedal that can be removed by putting some rubber piping in there - I'll try and dig out the thread :)
  15. Welcome to LOC fella :) It's probably cheaper to get one in the UK to be honest, Anees car there is nice, and there are some nice ones that have popped up on eBay and Autotrader, Yemgi got a nice one recently for under £6k I think in black? There's another one up at a garage in Keighley that is black but it was actually blue and they've resprayed it. If you did import then Pete Betts at Thor does a good speedo conversion box that's proven on quite a few of these as well as on the Supras. I'd have thought someone like Jurgen on the MKIV site should be able to help in regards to importing, there's a guy on Club Aristo called BodleyTunes who imports Aristos, would probably be definitely best to start with him - the site is www.clubaristo.net The imports are usually of a very good quality, the guy I just mentioned finds some incredibly nice cars for sale in Japan, they vary in price and there are some incredible examples that you can get, now the car is over ten years old any of those can be brought in without having to worry about the strict SVA etc, so you can get some fantastic modified cars which is a much cheaper way of doing it. As for the accellerator, it's in the normal place, it's probably just the footrest you've seen on the side? I have to admit mine actually does have a conversion so the pedal can be on the left or right, think the first owner may have had a disability but that hides away and the car is as normal. The carseat should fix, I don't think these cars are ISOFit or whatever it is, you'd probably be best once again asking over on Club Aristo as you've more chance of getting an answer on that one, if it's just a generic car seat there should be no worries at all! As the car is so old it fits into the cheap tax brackets, ie about £196 a year :) Insurance wise I'm paying £530 for mine at 30 with 8 years NCB. The ride is very smooth as standard, if you're not happy with the Supra I'd have to say stay away from a car with coilovers and uprated suspension and get one with the standard suspension as that will ride the same as a standard Lexus GS - and they're very smooth indeed, otherwise your mrs will kill you! I've got coilovers on mine and I'm very happy with the ride but you do know about it if you hit a pothole and it would be enough to stop your mrs touching it for weeks! Standard spec is quoted as ~280bhp but in reality it's closer to the 320 mark, torque is a similar level too so they're very quick, exactly same spec as the VVTI Supra TT if you get the JZS161, whereas if you get the MK1 / JZS147 then it's the same spec as the non VVTI Supra TT. As these are all autos they're great in a straight line, standard they're just very smooth, and running BPU levels like a Supra with the turbos pulling at 1.2 bar (stock is about 0.7) it's much more aggressive :) I don't know how easy it is to replace the headunit as mine is standard, from what I've read on the internet you could just replace it and then tap into all the speaker wires, someone like Luke at DriveandView.com is your man for the conversion, he converts the car so that you have RCA inputs and can use anything at all, DVD player, TV etc. For example in mine I've got an Alpine satnav, Freeview Digital TV box, and then some further RCA connections in the glovebox which I use for either iPod connectivity or a media device which handles DVD's, XVIDs and so on, it's really good to be honest. As for maintenance it's pretty standard to be honest, oil changes, brakes and so on. The turbos will need replacing at some point which is expensive, over £3k if you go with new ones or you can pick up second hand ones pretty cheaply although they are just a temporary fix I guess. If they ever go it may be a good point to consider a single turbo conversion, personally if I was in the market for an Aristo again I'd go the whole hog and import one to the spec I wanted from Japan as there are some amazing examples that are coming up nowadays :) Saying that I am quite happy with mine but everytime I see some of the Jap cars it gives me new ideas about what I should do!
  16. Cheers dude, I'm actually halfway through that fella, got the Aristo badge here to replace the wonky Lexus bit, I forgot to order the Toyota badge so I'm just waiting as I'm half tempted to flog the Aristo badge and use the cash towards the black chrome emblems instead! Saying that the chrome does have a nice contrast so I'll probably stick with it.
  17. I actually quite like them, they're quite subtle! I may have to go with the Nandos too though, that XX Hot sauce is the daddy!
  18. Welcome to the club! You should be able to get a K&N panel filter, where were you asking? There's not really much point getting a chip for an NA car as you don't get much in the way of gains, just straighten out the power delivery. There aren't really any turbo kits as such, you can get a couple but I think you'll need to do some tweaking after they arrive, as for the superchargers, you can only really pick those up second hand now, I think you can still get them direct from TTE in Germany for about 4-5000 Euros?
  19. £40 is a right bargain! They have the ANPR cameras at Meadowhall I think, the police are just parked up near there pulling people up all the time, usually in one of their fancy Evos too!
  20. That's ace mate, must be crackers driving on that beach :D Quality pics there though, you'll be getting some awesome pics when it's nice weather again :)
  21. Thanks fellas :) Been at this for three days :o It wasn't cold enough for the jumper today so just went with the Michael J Fox tshirt @ Hando I guess the best bit is it was a sleeper for all of about a week when I got it back from the garage after having the rear bumper resprayed but by then Gord and I had stuck on the wind deflectors and it had the TOMS roof spoiler so it was starting to go wrong then :D It's a shame it wasn't a nicer day so I could get better pics but these will do me for now for the memories! Think it needs lowering a bit more now, just a bit worried about upsetting the handling as pushed it on some nice windies tonight and it was me who had to back off as the car was just lapping it up, craziness indeed! Product wise I used the following.. Meguiars Quik Clay system Menzerna S34A (did the whole car with this as it was covered in little scratches from car washes in the past and the others didn't shift them as well as this) Dodo Juice Lime Prime Lite Victoria Wax Concours Used the last two as they seemed to be good on black, and after seeing what one of the lads on DetailingWorld had done to a guy called JamieP's Supra which was the same solid black none clearcoated paint as mine I thought I'd give it a go! Used three coats of the wax and the entire car now smells nice and feels smooth as a fit birds arse
  22. Nice plate fella, will be able to keep an eye out for you easier now :D Half expected you to say you'd got: B83 ANS
  23. Silkolene Pro is the nuts, Fuchs own Silkolene and they're a massive German company providing OEM stuff to the big German manufacturers as well, you can't go wrong with it :)
