  1. I think to be fair they handled the situation realistically, take another example, if your brake pads were on min and they phoned you up to explain that work was required and they were going to retain the car if you didn't have the pads changed would you have treated the call in the same way? Remember, a big part of the service are the visual checks carried out. Perhaps they just weren't very diplomatic about the problem.

On the other hand, I don't think they can hold your car, surely if you signed an agreement to hand over the car that would have been sufficent?

I'm surpised by this - was it Lee who looked after you? I've taken my car there for 3 out of the 4 services I've needed and have never ever had a problem.

    Good luck anyway!

  2. Bazza,

Are you sure the email is genuine? I've just run a search on burberry on eBay and there are tons of items for sale.

Have you got the eBay alert monitor running? If not, I'd suggest you do.

BTW, that link you posted is not found - I'd double check the email you were sent for authenticity.

The reason I'm questioning this is there are loads of scam emails being sent from eBay and they ask you to verify your id / password and they're fake.

I've never heard of items being pulled under a copyright protection - take La Coste for example, i've bought 2 polo shirts off eBay £15 each, they're fake (very good copies) and they're from Singapore - but they weren't pulled off eBay, and infact the seller is still trading!)

    Good luck!

  3. I've test driven both the rx-8 and 350z and performance wise they do p all over the IS200 which isn't a surprise. But what I didn't like in those 2 cars were build quality & believe it or not the stereo performance. (or in the RX-8's case lack of - sorry!)

The IS has lots of nice features but the stereo just finishes it off for me, I know it sounds strange but the rx-8 and 350z are over £23k ++ each and for that money I expected more.

But the power in the 2 was awesome, liked the 350z midrange grunt and loved the 9k revving rx-8 performance.

And yes, before anybody says it they are like comparing chalk and cheese.

I agree that we blokes get bored, I was thinking of changing to one of the above, but to be honest I think I'll stick to me luxury motors and wait for a drive of the new is250 later this year.

  4. Search is your friend (you'll eventually find something)

In the meantime here's something to go on - I originally had potenza's on my IS200 and I thought the life was rubbish, only lasted 18K, swapped them for Dunlop SP9000 and the life is much better, but I'm not sure if they're any better in the wet.

I too might change to another brand when they're due, probably go for Michelin Pilot Sport as I believe a lot of guys say these are the dogs danglies.

    Anybody vouch for this?
