  1. I've just read an old post from 2003 which was talking about changing the horn on the IS, I would like to do this and if anybody has any info please comment:-

    1) How much to replace with the horns on the RX300 (I believe theyre much better)

    2) How much?

    3) I also believe the tone can be changed - Any knowledgebase on this.

    Cheers !

  2. I used to have a road angel until Geoff bought it off me, as I said, I'm trialling tomtom Go & Navigator for work and they use the same databases, tomtom picks up the same static speed camera's as Road Angel.

On Roadangel it allows you to store new speed camera's when you drive past them and when you carry out a download it uploads new LAT & LONG's as well, seems a bit of cheek for Roadangel to charge for updates when checkpoint for Tomtom gives them for free!

And also the laser alert on the Roadangel never worked, many times was I driving and passed a mobile detector and it never ever went off.

Saying that Roadangel also alerts you of blackspots's which checkpoint doesn't do.

    Horses for courses I reckon!

  3. Thanks for the feedback Marshy.

But do you really honestly think that the extra cash is worth the extra performance as the IS200's spec is almost as good as the IS300 (or is it?), is the handling better & ride any better?

I've often thought about trading my IS200 for a 300 but the automatic puts me off, not that I'm knocking the IS300 at all, It would have been nice to see a model difference e.g. BMW 320i & 330i diff. OEM alloys & bumpers.

  4. Had a bit of good news with the discs today, decided to take it to Lexus Chester and have the discs & pads replaced. Turns out the discs were covered under warranty (car is 2 1/2 yrs old with 52k) so I didn't have to pay for them!!!

Only had to pay £37 for the pads - back of the net!

My next question is why did Lexus Stockport quote me £300 to replace them when Chester did it under warranty - any ideas ???? Opens a can of worms me thinks!

  5. Thinking of changing my front discs & pads on my own (not with Pam :P )

Need a confidence boost - is it really easy (I can change a tyre, change my aircon filter, remove the stereo face to feed a PDA cable etc etc so I'm a little adventourous)...

So, can anybody really say that changing the discs & pads is really easy, I've read the forum and am convinced I can do it myself - not found the Knowledgebase though). I just fancy saving myself a load of wonga - the dealers are quoting £280 to do it.

    Thanks in advance!

  6. I live out in the sticks near Chester and I have spent many days driving on the A51 to Stone which is often muddy in parts from tractors and I have never had a problem with tyres or skidding, I wouldn't exactly say I'm a slow driver either.

I've run Potenza's and currently on SP9000's - and swear by the Dunlop's.
