Here's my question I asked him
My question:-
"Hi there, Nice car - how many miles has it done? With the BT line does that mean I can connect to Broadband as well? I'm looking at putting in a web server when I am on the road - thanks!"
His response:-
As it says on the listing the car has done 121,000 miles and im not sure reguarding the ''internet connection'' the previous owner did have the car phone enabled but not to make out going calls to recieve them only, i havent really checked it out i dont use it, probably becouse of the little invention called the moble phone thanx for your email!

To be honest I think it's a bit of a scam - I was told that I could too put down £250 deposit when I was in Lexus Chester last week - but why bother? Unless you really wan't the car on the day of release then there's no other reason to put a deposit down - and anyway they'll see that your that keen and will not discount at all. Imagine if 50 people in your dealership put down £250 deposit, just think what interest £12,500 would bring for 6 months!!!
I'm gonna wait for a drive in November, and order one on the new 06 plate (hopefully if I like it).
I'm really up for a group buy on this next year - imagine 1 dealer getting a job lot order for 10 / 20 cars ! Think there's discount to be haggled......

That 2nd Lexus has a service history in Reading but he lives in Derby - wtf
I've asked questions - watch this space.

Note my point looking for somebody who does it in the "UK" Anees - he is in Ireland.
Thanks for your help anyway!

Just browsing eBay and came across this link
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...7967997426&rd=1
The guy is selling caliber stickers but I noticed his chrome finished alloys - nice!
Anyboyd know who does them in the UK and how much?
Cheers!

Nice bit of skirt in Lexus Stoke too!
Wow that is a great price - and a big sigh of relief to me - Lexus Chester quoted £600!!! I think a drive to Stoke & the potteries while I'm there is required.....
-
Think I saw a job lot of gaffer tape go off eBay the other day!
Are you sure it's not THE replacement Vectra anyway??

when I got mine, they tried to sell me the bluetooth kit but I defo wanted the full cradle kit as these new color phones all have rubbish battery life and I wanted it to charge while I was in the car.
I got a genuine nokia cradle kit for £80 brand new and a bracket from dashmount.co.uk for £20.
Sooty - I live near Chester if it's any good!
Personally I'd go for the cradle option, the Bluetooth quality seems to be as good as the cradle but I find it's not a seamless transfer from mobile to Bluetooth, e.g. when your on the phone walking to car and you expect the Bluetooth to kick in when you switch on the ignition - well mine doesn't, you have to choose Bluetooth / activate Car-k cradle! Seems a bit stupid to me.
Anyway, your welcome to come and have a look at it -PM if you want to arrange something.
-
Yup my turn, kerbed a wheel today had a look at it there seems to be a plastic film coating the alloy - anybody know what it is? I kerbed an old alloy last year and that didn't have this plastic film on it.
Anyway, looks as if I'll have to put the spare on.
Whinge over!

Sooty,
I have a nokia 6230 car kit & Bluetooth kit in my car it uses a seperate speaker hidden under the passenger footwell.
Your more than welcome to come and have a look at how it works. Unfortunately I didn't fit it - it was a company fit.
Cheers.....

Considering you paid £8.5K for a car that has less mileage than mine and considering my car was £17k 18 months ago then yes you have a flipping good deal!
-
I can't believe they didn't service it on 30 & 40k! Especially 40k it's a major service.
You need to be a gold member to get discount on your service.
I'm not privileged to share the costs of servicing you need to check on the Gold website.
-
How much did you end up paying - I take it Lexus Stoke is not Lexus Hanley (Chris.S garage) ?
-
Took it to Chester and it passed - PHEW!
I was also concerned why the MOT form says "Cheshire Oaks service station" !!! That explains why! Lexus Chester don't do the servicing!
Anyway, while I waited I took a Blue RX-8 out for a testdrive !!!!! To be honest nice power, but naff cheap interior (and the Stereo in the IS whips the RX-8's backside!)

Cheers Mate!

Hi you helpful people!
My IS200 1st MOT is due at the end of this month. Do you know if I can book it in before the 3 years has elapsed just in case anything is found faulty that might be covered under warranty?
If not, do Lexus provide a free checkover when the car is about to run out of warranty?
I know it sounds cheeky but I don't want to find any problems when the car no longer has warranty. I have decided not to buy the extended warranty due to cost etc.
Cheers!

Your A_Star for finding this (sorry for the pun ;-) )
Let us know what it's like , i'd like one of these !
-
I like the finish - but not sure about the smell of the cleaner - the only way I can describe it, it smells like stagnant water!
-
I'd rather save money it then saves any annoyance when they forget to do it!
-
Don't you think it's about time the dealers should give us the choice to have the car cleaned. I know it's nice to have it cleaned but it's not rocket science is it!!!
Surely if they were to say a £10 reduction or get the car cleaned - it's your choice - I know which option I'd choose!
-
I also use the Autoglym leather cleaner - it's great, takes out the dryness of the leather and stops the creases cracking.
Don't have anything for the escaine - nb it is not suede so don't use a suede cleaner - escaine is a man made suede. I generally just use a wet cloth and wipe them down - not much else you can do with them.

Sooty,
You could try and contact Geoffers on LOC. He's our resident Electronics guru and I am sure he'll help you out - he also lives near you too!
I know he fitted his own car kit a while ago, but not sure about BT.
Do a search on his name & PM him.
