  1. Sooty, I have a nokia 6230 car kit & bluetooth kit in my car it uses a seperate speaker hidden under the passenger footwell. Your more than welcome to come and have a look at how it works. Unfortunately I didn't fit it - it was a company fit. Cheers.....
  2. Considering you paid £8.5K for a car that has less mileage than mine and considering my car was £17k 18 months ago then yes you have a flipping good deal!
  3. I can't believe they didn't service it on 30 & 40k! Especially 40k it's a major service. You need to be a gold member to get discount on your service. I'm not privileged to share the costs of servicing you need to check on the Gold website.
  4. How much did you end up paying - I take it Lexus Stoke is not Lexus Hanley (Chris.S garage) ?
  5. Took it to Chester and it passed - PHEW! I was also concerned why the MOT form says "Cheshire Oaks service station" !!! That explains why! Lexus Chester don't do the servicing! Anyway, while I waited I took a Blue RX-8 out for a testdrive !!!!! To be honest nice power, but naff cheap interior (and the Stereo in the IS whips the RX-8's backside!)
  6. I think javadude is probably right, If i was to buy an IS200 now I'd get a cheap S model, buy the 17" alloys & leather seats off ebay as there are loads around now! Save yourself a load of cash!
  7. Hi you helpful people! My IS200 1st MOT is due at the end of this month. Do you know if I can book it in before the 3 years has elapsed just in case anything is found faulty that might be covered under warranty? If not, do Lexus provide a free checkover when the car is about to run out of warranty? I know it sounds cheeky but I don't want to find any problems when the car no longer has warranty. I have decided not to buy the extended warranty due to cost etc. Cheers!
  8. Your A_Star for finding this (sorry for the pun ;-) ) Let us know what it's like , i'd like one of these !
  9. I like the finish - but not sure about the smell of the cleaner - the only way I can describe it, it smells like stagnant water!
  10. I'd rather save money it then saves any annoyance when they forget to do it!
  11. Don't you think it's about time the dealers should give us the choice to have the car cleaned. I know it's nice to have it cleaned but it's not rocket science is it!!! Surely if they were to say a £10 reduction or get the car cleaned - it's your choice - I know which option I'd choose!
  12. I also use the Autoglym leather cleaner - it's great, takes out the dryness of the leather and stops the creases cracking. Don't have anything for the escaine - nb it is not suede so don't use a suede cleaner - escaine is a man made suede. I generally just use a wet cloth and wipe them down - not much else you can do with them.
  13. maybe a pic of your wife on the bonnet to finish the topic off?
  14. It does only happen when I play the music loud (half way up on the volume) which is loud when you get in the car in the morning! But when I'm on the Motorway it's different! Anyway, can I get the woofer / tweeter / birdie / budgie / stereo replaced under warranty!!?!!?!!
  15. Hi all, During the weekend my stereo decided to cut out and instead of the normal sound I could only hear what can be described as a deep bass coming from the rear speakers. I parked up left the car for 10mins and returned and it was OK again. Same happened yesterday and after leaving it for a while it returned normal again. I've got it booked into the dealer to have a look at - any ideas what it is and is it covered under warranty? Cheers!
  16. I've just double checked and I was wrong - I paid £252 incl Vat, but did not have the aircon filter changed. Still not £400 though!!! I still have the papers to prove it. Sorry for the ***** up, it is Friday
  17. £300 is still expensive. I paid about £180 for mine in Lexus Stockport! NO EDITED - paid £252 ! In fact I've never paid more than that for the major service, even the minor servicing is about £120 !!! The only biggie is the 60k which I've been quoted about £500. You could save a load of cash and book it into Stockport, nice drive over Woodhead as well, even with the cost of petrol your still quids in! Ask them to fax you over an itiniary - are they changing the aircon filter? They usually do on a major service and I think they charge about £50 for this alone! If you do have Gold, have a look at the discount we get on Puravent filters, pay about £20 if I remember - I have one and they're great.
  18. Blodwyn - that would make her the only gay in the village :P Only jokin, welcome to the club! Good Price, nice to see that maybe mine will be worth £11k at least!
  19. Don't know about build number but I've got the word Toyota printed nearly everywhere! Does that mean it was built in a toyota factory?
  20. What gives you the right to call the response from boy racers - Boy racers or not they still drive the same car as you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I bet you'd feel different if it was you who bought a car weeks before the spec changed!
  21. Agree with Wayne, get them to give you 3 years free servicing. By the way - was it Lexus Liverpool who sold you the car?
  22. What date did you receive the car & what date did the new promotion go on? If it was me I would seriously kick Lexus A*s for doing that - surely they must have known about the new promotion when you ordered your car / during it being manufactured - 10 weeks does sound a long time for a car that they pretty much have sitting in an airfield somewhere. (I remember when I bought mine, I looked at buying new and was told 2 weeks!) Put it this way, if you bought a tv from a store in December and it was reduced in the January sale you'd complain right? In this situation you have a lower spec'd car for the same price with satnav, jees I reckon you've probably lost circa £1000 for trade in compare to the sat nav spec'd model. I feel for you mate, maybe check with trading standards - I would.
