  1. I think to be fair they handled the situation realistically, take another example, if your brake pads were on min and they phoned you up to explain that work was required and they were going to retain the car if you didn't have the pads changed would you have treated the call in the same way? Remember, a big part of the service are the visual checks carried out. Perhaps they just weren't very diplomatic about the problem. On the other hand, I don't think they can hold your car, surely if you signed an agreement to hand over the car that would have been sufficent? I'm surpised by this - was it Lee who looked after you? I've taken my car there for 3 out of the 4 services I've needed and have never ever had a problem. Good luck anyway!
  2. And Johnny Knoxville will probably do his own stunts !!!!! OMG!
  3. Bazza, Are you sure the email is genuine? I've just run a search on burberry on ebay and there are tons of items for sale. Have you got the ebay alert monitor running? If not, I'd suggest you do. BTW, that link you posted is not found - I'd double check the email you were sent for authenticity. The reason I'm questioning this is there are loads of scam emails being sent from ebay and they ask you to verify your id / password and they're fake. I've never heard of items being pulled under a copyright protection - take La Coste for example, i've bought 2 polo shirts off ebay £15 each, they're fake (very good copies) and they're from Singapore - but they weren't pulled off ebay, and infact the seller is still trading!) Good luck!
  4. I've test driven both the rx-8 and 350z and performance wise they do p all over the IS200 which isn't a surprise. But what I didn't like in those 2 cars were build quality & believe it or not the stereo performance. (or in the RX-8's case lack of - sorry!) The IS has lots of nice features but the stereo just finishes it off for me, I know it sounds strange but the rx-8 and 350z are over £23k ++ each and for that money I expected more. But the power in the 2 was awesome, liked the 350z midrange grunt and loved the 9k revving rx-8 performance. And yes, before anybody says it they are like comparing chalk and cheese. I agree that we blokes get bored, I was thinking of changing to one of the above, but to be honest I think I'll stick to me luxury motors and wait for a drive of the new is250 later this year.
  5. I agree with Colin - the TC is good and gives me the comfort factor but sometimes when it kicks in it does cut the power and loses a couple of seconds before the power is returned. Oh well, cant have everything!
  6. Why bother - you've got a great stereo - use it!
  7. Search is your friend (you'll eventually find something) In the meantime here's something to go on - I originally had potenza's on my IS200 and I thought the life was rubbish, only lasted 18K, swapped them for Dunlop SP9000 and the life is much better, but I'm not sure if they're any better in the wet. I too might change to another brand when they're due, probably go for Michelin Pilot Sport as I believe a lot of guys say these are the dogs danglies. Anybody vouch for this?
  8. Chris - nice to see you took your trainers off as well ! Have you modified your carpet as well - shagpile by any chance?
  9. I hope it ain't anything to do with his Mirror closure - I've got one on mine! Is he ok / or did you just fall out?
  10. Yeah that's what I thought, just wanted to check!
  11. Why? Is he on holiday - tell him Squarehead recommended him - he bought my Roadangel ;-)
  12. Out of interest where are you buying them from? They seem a very good price
  13. Just a question on the wheels - if I had my alloys replaced under warranty late last year (say Nov '04) do I still have 12 months warranty on them. Reason I ask is my warranty runs out the end of this month! Cheers guys !
  14. Sooty, You could try and contact Geoffers on LOC. He's our resident Electronics guru and I am sure he'll help you out - he also lives near you too! I know he fitted his own car kit a while ago, but not sure about BT. Do a search on his name & PM him.
  15. Pete, Did you go for a number 2 at 6pm tonight - I did! Snap!
  16. Just checked and the item has been removed ! Boo Hoo!
  17. Here's my question I asked him My question:- "Hi there, Nice car - how many miles has it done? With the BT line does that mean I can connect to Broadband as well? I'm looking at putting in a web server when I am on the road - thanks!" His response:- As it says on the listing the car has done 121,000 miles and im not sure reguarding the ''internet connection'' the previous owner did have the car phone enabled but not to make out going calls to recieve them only, i havent really checked it out i dont use it, probably becouse of the little invention called the moble phone thanx for your email! !!!!!!
  18. To be honest I think it's a bit of a scam - I was told that I could too put down £250 deposit when I was in Lexus Chester last week - but why bother? Unless you really wan't the car on the day of release then there's no other reason to put a deposit down - and anyway they'll see that your that keen and will not discount at all. Imagine if 50 people in your dealership put down £250 deposit, just think what interest £12,500 would bring for 6 months!!! I'm gonna wait for a drive in November, and order one on the new 06 plate (hopefully if I like it). I'm really up for a group buy on this next year - imagine 1 dealer getting a job lot order for 10 / 20 cars ! Think there's discount to be haggled......
  19. That 2nd Lexus has a service history in Reading but he lives in Derby - wtf I've asked questions - watch this space.
  20. Note my point looking for somebody who does it in the "UK" Anees - he is in Ireland. Thanks for your help anyway!
  21. Just browsing ebay and came across this link http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...7967997426&rd=1 The guy is selling caliber stickers but I noticed his chrome finished alloys - nice! Anyboyd know who does them in the UK and how much? Cheers!
  22. Wow that is a great price - and a big sigh of relief to me - Lexus Chester quoted £600!!! I think a drive to Stoke & the potteries while I'm there is required.....
  23. Think I saw a job lot of gaffer tape go off ebay the other day! Are you sure it's not THE replacement Vectra anyway??
  24. Sooty - I live near Chester if it's any good! Personally I'd go for the cradle option, the bluetooth quality seems to be as good as the cradle but I find it's not a seamless transfer from mobile to bluetooth, e.g. when your on the phone walking to car and you expect the bluetooth to kick in when you switch on the ignition - well mine doesn't, you have to choose bluetooth / activate Car-k cradle! Seems a bit stupid to me. Anyway, your welcome to come and have a look at it -PM if you want to arrange something.
  25. Yup my turn, kerbed a wheel today had a look at it there seems to be a plastic film coating the alloy - anybody know what it is? I kerbed an old alloy last year and that didn't have this plastic film on it. Anyway, looks as if I'll have to put the spare on. Whinge over!
