  1. I've had mine for 3 years now, done 60k hasn't missed a beat. The only thing I've had changed were the alloys and they wern't that bad. I've seem some really bad IS alloys in car parks etc. I wouldn't say it's massively expensive to run, servicing can be but if you join gold you save $$$. And from the wealth of info on here you can save yourself on the servicing by supplying own oil, plugs etc, changing the filters yerself. You'll get about 400 miles out of a tank which costs about £50. I've a mate who has a Vectra 1.8 (new shape and it's sooo slow) and his car does the same miles in the tank for the same cash so who's complaining!!!!
  2. Mat, I had a squeeky drivers seat which had the inners replaced under warranty. I think they changed the electric up & down motor as well as it makes a different noise now. Good luck!
  3. Fed up waiting for your pics mate - here's a pic of a real IS200 :P
  4. Prolex is your man, I ordered some pads off him reliable as the day. BTW, if you run your finger along the disc is their a groove on the edge? If not, then it should be ok I rekon! Is your car still under warranty? How many miles you done as well? I got my front discs replaced under warranty. I don't think Toyota will do the work as they're not insured to work on Lexus - well that's what my local Toyota dealer told me anyway! Just noticed your posting time - are you guys nocturnal?
  5. Just been talking about this elsewhere on LOC! I had mine fitted by Geoff who designed the mirror closure, it seemed complicated to me as he had to wire the mirror closure up to the alarm cables stored behind the drivers kick plate. Took him about 1/2 hour to do. NB he didn't do any soldering just used crimping plugs to wire the cables together. Works great now though - looks well cool when your in a petrol station and you lock your doors ;-)
  6. I think it's a legal requirement to have autolevelling on hids - it will probably fail an mot if you haven't got them! Best bet is to sell them to an IS300 owner mate! Sounds like way too much hassle - buy PIAA bulbs for your standard lights instead - not as good as HID but better than standard bulbs.
  7. Niraj, I've got the mirror closure off the guy who developed it (no longer on here shame). Mine doesn't close the sunroof though, but needless to say I've had it on for 12 months now and no problems at all. Looked a bit of a b***h to install though.
  8. Just received a card from Lexus Chester selling off an increased range of pre-owned Lexus models available to test drive between Thurs 7/7 and Sat 9/7. Example - IS200 SE / Y Automatic £9995, Royal Sapphire, leather 83000 miles. Oh, and every model bought this weekend will come with a choice of £1000 towards deposit or £750 off RRP. Don't know what the difference is though! Sounds like they're trying to sell off their surplus stock. Might go down for a nosey....
  9. Hope I don't get shot for including this but the number to call is 0870 241 4936 and I think it's Lexus GB. Try calling them and see if you can go - if not I'm sure I can add another person to my list if you have problems. Damer PM me if your having problems, I'm going between 3.30pm and 6pm. The cars that I will be testing are the RX400h, new GS, LS & SC430!
  10. Anybody else going to Knowsley Hall on Thursday 14th July??? Got an invite from Lexus Liverpool and I've only ever been there for 1 service (60k). I'm off at 3pm with a mate - see you there if your going! BTW, one gripe - Lexus Chester or Stockport have never invited me to one of these in the past (assuming they've had them) and my car has been in for loads of services with them (granted I didn't buy it off them), but I didn't buy the car from Liverpool either. So I'm really p****d that the local dealers haven't bothered to invite me - if your reading this Chester / Stockport then shame on you! Anyway, Another brownie point to Lexus Liverpool!
  11. I gotta admit, a bit chav, but I love Lacoste clothes....why don't we both write to them!! You never know!
  12. Be nice to see it with the tints - how much were they?
  13. Google is your friend, no replicas yet but it could be possible! Did you know Roddick signed a $5 million deal with Lacoste for advertising - WOW! Nonetheless, I noticed his shirt yesterday and thought cool - Lexus and Lacoste - quality! I noticed the other month Lacoste advertised in the Lexus mag as well.
  14. Just buy a white lacoste polo shirt (has to be the vintage style - did you see how big the croc was!!) and iron on a caliper sticker on the left arm!!!! Seriously though, I doubt you can buy them - might be worth emailing Lacoste direct.
  15. What have you done with the old alloys - are you selling them? By the way, I have seen a lot of IS's on here, and I have to say yours looks 'kin gorgeous mate! Was the paint enhancement by Supaguard? I remember mine had that one when I bought mine - worth it isn't it!
  16. AWW, thanks Phonedrome - whilst I was in bed you were thinking of me ;-) ! 0-60 is faster than an IS300 great!
  17. I'm sure this has been said before, what is the 0-60 on a s/c is200? I'm really thinking about getting one rather than buying a new IS200 later this year. Do you have to change anything else along with the s/c - i.e. brake upgrade / air intake etc? Anybody recommend a garage in the NorthWest to fit one? Or anybody want to earn some cash to do it for me? Thanks....
  18. Sounds like their gonna be great - performance is much better. That's more like it!
  19. Andy - correct me if I am wrong but the procedure you have described disables the internal alarm sensors if you have a dog / kids etc and want to lock the car without setting off the internal alarm! Or am I wrong?
  20. Well spotted mate! We should have a bet to see how long it stays on there! I reckon 2 weeks, finishing on Thursday 7th July!
  21. Well that's news to me, I thought that was the high level brake light! Aren't the sensors build into the dome light behind the sunroof??? Anyway, wherever they are I doubt it's them - have you tried your workshop key - the one without the boot unlock button on it to see if that works?
  22. What about LSD Colin? Maybe the way to test if it's a sport is to test the LSD!
  23. Nope mate there is a metal plate that sits behind the seat. Unless you can roll your bed and squeeze it thru the ski hatch!
  24. Plugs, aircon filter, oil filter, air filter, change oil, top up coolant and they think they change the brake fluid. If you can do it then go for it - depends on whether you want your book stamped for resale values etc.
