Yeah there are so many parts readily available for the ford all because they need new parts every other month. Absolute rubbish cars. They aint reliable cars so obviously they have so many parts like you say readily available. If you want a reliable hassle free car stick to japenese cars.

I cant believe you are seriously asking should you buy a ford mondeo. Ford are rubbish. Probebly one of the most unreliable cars on the planet. And you are seriously thinking about buying an unreliable bag of crap. I dont care how many people on here say oh fords are good etc etc because they are not. Watch out for electrical problems aswell. Someone once asked me when i had an Audi S4 if i would px it with his mondeo. Well i told him what he could go do with his ford. I wouldnt trust car traders anyway. Dealers are okay, but traders, thats a no. I remember before i bought my ls430, i saw one on the net a trader was selling. It was close to me. So i called him up, sure enough he made out the car was in pristine condition with no mechanical issues and that he'd do a trade in with my Audi S4 i had then which was a 99 model worth around £3000 of i sold it privately. So from the pictures the ls430 looked clean aswell. So i went down, omg, the car had scratches everywhere on it, but he didnt tell me that. When i started the ls430 up, there was a massive roar to it. The downpipe was blown. To top it of he wanted my Audi S4 for £500. Obviously i wasnt happy at all, so you can guess what i said to him.

I had the same problem on my first ls430. I changed the wheels over etc, but it was still there. It turned out it was the nsr wheel bearing. I think it cost me just over £200 for part from lexus dealers, it comes as a the complete unit. I do know that the front unit is cheaper.

Hi Steve Nah hes not a club member. He cant even speak.English properly. I had a celsior not so long ago. It was a black T reg with only 39000 miles on it. I put it up on ebay and you wont believe it, but i got £3000 for it.

Come to Birmingham guys, you will.see a good few lexus ls, and gs near where i live. I know one guy who collects celsiors, hes got about 4, another guy i see around has a 98 ls400 in good condition aswell, loads of gs300 around, and i mean loads, i myself on my 2nd ls430 having had 4 mk4 ls400's that i consider is a better car than the 430 simply because its quieter and smoother, so im looking now for another mk4 ls400 to do a deal with my 2001 ls430. But there are loads in birmingham.

Larryadler mate, i used to take my ls430 to Birmingham Lexus, but not anymore. Most of the time i dont think they do the work they say the will, and they are overpriced. I take mine to lexus sheffield. Okay its over an hour drive but well worth it because they are also cheaper than Birmingham Lexus. An example at birmingham Lexus a vsv to replace on my ls430 £679. At sheffield Lexus £359 all in. Thats just one example.

Yes hes a friend of mine aswell..he is a true gent. We love our Lexus vehicles. Ive had 4 ls400's mk4's and im on my 2nd ls430. I bought one ls430 of baz once. Lovely car, but i prefer the ls400 mk4.

I reconize that car. Thats ole baz ex lexus. Yes its probebly the amp in the rear thats causing the problem

Hi willskoda In the book it just says 130000 interim service. So its not the full service. The full service is at 140000 miles.

Thanks Steve. But it still doesnt tell me what kind of service an essential and proper lexus service is. I mean does the essential service include oil and filter Change, air filter and sparkplugs etc etc?

Hi Hope someone can shed some light on this subject. I have a 2001 ls430. Its due its 130000 mile service which is the intermidiate service. They say they can either do an essential service at £159 or a proper lexus service at £268. Now my question is what is the difference between each service? What kind of things are involved in each service. Thanks

Easy to reset. All you do is turn the key so the lights come on the dash, do not start it up, then go to the climate control screen, keep your finger on the off button until you hear a beep. Then turn the key to off, then turn to start the car and it should be sorted.

Well im looking for a mk4 ls400 now. Im not happy with the road noise im getting in my ls430.

Glad to know youve got your car back. I had a noise similer to yours on my first ls430. It turned out to be the idle pulley. So i had it changed along with the drive belt by lexus dealers for £159, after that it was all silent again. So it could be that.

Dont get me wrong, i think the 430 is a nice car, but the drive on it is not as smooth as the 400, its not as quiet as the 400, make sure you have some money for when the air suspension sensors fail, the vsv, the Cd player, water in the boot, the wheel bearing but thats just wear and tear, the electric fold in mirrors. Thats just afew things that can go wrong.

I think the ls400 is alot more reliable than the 430 and alot more quieter and smoother

Well guys the one to stay away from is Birmingham Lexus. That is by far the most expensive Lexus dealers

So i think ill be going to Sheffield lexus from now on as Leicester Lexus dealers is part of the Sytner group so its going to be abit expensive on labour charges.. So i cant really save on fuel costs.
