Dave, One of our guys at work had this in a works van. The police sent the note to the office with the normal congratulations you are this months winner letter. Seems they didnt notice the big dent on the van in the pic! Even better still the police attended the accident! Now there efficiency! :)

I don't know if you have a protyre centre near you but they have a partner that they use for wheel refurbishments. If you do it through Protyre it is about £50 p/wheel. I have not had mine done yet - however i have seen a set of wheels that came back from there that looked real nice. Perhaps a little duller in colour than original but not obvious. They said to me it is a 5 day turn around. I thought about getting my spare done with them first to see how it turns out - but not going to be til after feb when my chrimbo credit card bill starts to shrink! :duh: Oh yeah - also they don't have a loan wheel service - so its either on at a time or leave your car on bricks whilst your on hols (at least it won't get nicked!) Jens, Your post really suprises me! I would have thought that Germany more than anywhere Lexus would be wanting to fully load the cars with gadgets to outdo the mercs / bmw's. Maybe they thought that since those guys can get away with charging sooooo much for extras that the IS would give it a go too! Still I bet it was a fair bit cheaper for you to buy there than here! <_<

GCHQ - with you all the way m8! C4 have got away with murder for donkeys with this sort of thing. I am a good friend of a very wealthy businessman - his favourite line is all publicity is good publicity. I know it not anywhere similar to this but an example, (he's a much nicer man than C4 me thinks!) Bought a Grade B/2 (not up to speed on that stuff) listed building, ripped out the insides turned into a really nice restaurant. Got biggest fine ever made loads of local press the restaurant was packed for ever more! Worth the fine, yeah it cost him about the same as he was willing to spend on advertising! Word of mouth / curiosity - strongest form of advertising in the world - it human nature!

Vudu, i tend to have about the same as you, however I fade the stereo to the back by about 2/3 depending on the music. The rears are 6x9 speakers (much better on the bass). I find that this helps distortion if you like to turn it up a tad.

Ok, so whats the count on this now? 4 ships either hit or near miss this thing. I know these guys are away at see for weeks/months - but i would have thought someone would tell the skippers that there's a friggin great lump of steel sat in their way by now! How much would it cost to sit an old guy in a rubber dinghey a couple mile out in front with a flashing light!!! As for the 30m damage - by my reckoning that makes the 3000 cars worth £10,000 a piece. Now I don't want a BMW, but even a 316 for £10,000 thats a deal!

I think - and this is going to be sad - is that production companies have x amount of number plates registered to them for public broadcast (i know i wouldn't want my number plate appearing on some beat up old escort!). All they do is borrow cars from unsuspecting loan companies, swap the plates and hey presto - a brand new IS manufactured on an 80's A plate! :arrrggg-matey: all of em! :)

Matt, I used to try the only put the nozzle in to the kin trick, until one Very early morning start, I was filling up and falling asleep against the side of the car and instead of the fuel stopping it just carried on! About £3 of fuel on the forecort! Nice!

Hopefully like the 50k! Cant afford another like my last! About £400 all in for the 40k, but i did get all the panels on the underside of my car replaced for free - Mess up by the dealer but thanks anyway :D
