  1. If you don't get the five flashes then it sounds like you DO have to manually dead lock now. Lexus is turning into Vauxhall uuuurgh!
  2. Hmmm, interesting not thought about that, certainly never had problems with other cars
  3. Hey guys, I just got a quote for 2 new tyres on my standard IS SE alloys. £219.xx (can't remember the pennies) for 2xDunlops Hard compound, fitting, valve, balance and Alignment check (if it is out it's £20 to rectify) Just wondered if that sounds good, bad indifferent to you lot? A certain fitter you cant get better than wanted £160 per piece for the same tyre!?!?! :flaming:
  4. Obviousley not been passed me Claire, I'm always waving, only had one back so far! :(
  5. Has anyone noticed that the only way to demist the front window is using the aircon? If i switch it off it seems to mist up faster! Have the fuel companies paid for a device to make us use more petrol? I know my older cars never used to be like that b4 Aircon!!!
  6. I take back all i said in an earlier post (especially for you claire ) about women drivers! I arrived in the office this morning, particularly early, bleary eyed. pulled up in the parking space and heard that all knowing crunch! I had failed to notice the 20ft drainpipe in front of me! :flaming: On further investigation i found NO DAMAGE to the car :tumble: but a big buckle in the drain pipe :o Luckily no one was around so i quickly moved the car (and managed to avoid the post on the second attempt!!!) Whoooooops!
  7. lol claire - just like me, keeping quiet until someone else asks!! :)
  8. Radio 1 ran a news report on car jackings a few months back saying that London and Manchester were hot spots. I kinda felt special as they said target cars were BMW, Merc and Lexus. Then it dawned on me I drive into London regularly!! They also said that the new way was for people to cause a small accident, ie drive in to the back of you at a set of lights thus forcing you out of the car!!! :flaming::flaming:
  9. Although a good idea, I know a couple of antivirus companies registered that email as a non harmful virus - it was classed as "another chain letter" that companies don't want flying around their mail systems! On a lighter note - Im only using Optimax but what happens next year when we have to boycott Shell and non of the other garages have developed an optimax replacement. Will we still stick with the plan???
  10. I had this problem in my old vectra (common Vauxhall build quality!). Because it was a company car, I called LEX Vehicle Leasing to get it sorted and they sent the AA immediately. The AA man said I can't let you drive the car on the off chance that it does go off, im taking to the nearest vauxhall dealership (great service except i had no car!! ) Anyway, the dealer gave it back to me and said they needed parts, and would take a week, but drive carefully as the drivers airbag was disabled as a result!!! Worth thinking about!
  11. Hmmm Could ve VERY interested! Again not too fussed about dates - just not too close to Chrimbo!
  12. Ok im getting into deep water now me thinks :!: If you happen to be at the Autumn event im not driving a blue SE!!!
  13. Unless you went the full US style Lexus 4x4 and got Gold windows too! :P
  14. Thanks Rob, I'll ask the dealer (without mentioning the damage - see if I can get a verbal contract :) ). Trouble is I only seem to have small amounts of corrosion on each wheel but severe damage! And they say "One lady owner from new" gives a car more value!!!! Sorry any girlies out there!!! :P
  15. Hmm 3 years! Nice. Ok, next Q - has anyone had wheels refurbished / replaced that also have curb damage aswell as corrosion? I might be pushing my luck a bit here - the wheels have corrosion on the back, but the previous owner obviousley didnt know the difference between curb stones and T- Junctions!!!
  16. What is the standard IS200 warranty? I thought it was one year? Have loads of people gone for a 3 yr extension or am i hugely mistaken?
  17. Hmm 4 stroke but 24V (24 hour Viagra supplies!!!) :lol::lol::lol::lol:
  18. Possiby a realm we shouldn't freely discuss - but when i had my CBR600 bike - i fitted a carbon fibre race can to it. This was way over the maximum noise levels for an exhaust and made it illegal. However - my local MOT'er took the stance that, as soon as I took my bike home I was going to switch the can back anyway so aslong as I took a "Legal" can to the testing centre he would pass it, even if it wasn't actually attached to the bike!!! Maybe worth a try - but not likely to happen at amain dealer!!
  19. Claire - If that had been a male response I would put it down to male ego and there toys - hmmm now you got me thinking!
  20. I think its more of the explosion point of view. Fires are a little more controllable than sheets of aliminium flying through trains! :) Don't know if any of you remember the Calor Gas lorry that went up on the M3 a couple of years ago - but they found a bottle like 1/2 a mile away in someone's back garden!!! I was one of the lucky ones who managed to park me car under a motorway bridge - pheeeeew!
  21. I know i can open mine from far enough away to scare people walking past my car!! :)
