  1. Awwww Bless. Note to self: Keep girlfriend away from this thread - don't want sleepless nights and baby sick on the leather just yet!
  2. Anyone claim ownership to driving one about 18:00 last night??? I say A21ish, cos thats the nearest major road I know to where i was! :) fairly close to Croydon. If it's you, i was the blue IS200 you went passed on the inside!!! :) Very nice indeedy!
  3. Here Chris - im sure i saw your car over the weekend with very effective looking wipers!
  4. Since there is an English lesson theme going on at the mo, how about a "School" of lexi/lexii/lexuses!
  5. Nice spread on Page 27 of the sun about the poll aswell! :)
  6. Count me in!!! We can use my bonnet for panel beating practice! http://teamlexus.co.uk/forums/viewthread.php?tid=2281
  7. :flaming::flaming::flaming::flaming: Just had the worst moment that could happen to any of us, having my reg number read out by a DJ a nightclub. Followed by being escorted to the front door by a bouncer to be met by 4 coppers! 'Evening sir, dir you own a blue lexus?' Err, yeah 'W8... ...?' err, yeah 'We've just arrested a gentleman for suspicion of criminal damage to your vehicle sir, would you like to come and inspect it?' ERRRRR YEAH! ******* tried to climb over a wall, after being kicked out of the club, fell and landed on me bonnet! Fair do's to the police tho, happened to be in the right place at the right time, but have been real helpful - and saving grace - he's gonna have a minging hang over in the morning, in a cell, being questioned :flaming: The WPC said to me - i need you to give me a rough idea how much it will cost to repair - I was like errr hang on - it's 1am on a saturday morning and you want me to start reeling off prices for Lexus parts and labour?!?!?!? She said, hmm i see your point, well i'll put down up to £1000 for now then!
  8. Hmmm, rear windsrceen wipers - now that'd be novel!
  9. I know of a good IS200 in a yard (See me sig!) unfortunately never found out which yard! :(
  10. Rodders - Number plate stickers would be an idea - Halfords will put any text you like onto number plates for a couple of quid when they make them up. Just get everyone to have LOC bla bla added?!?
  11. Well i fall in to the, just me and my category too - for now  But my ex - who i work with - is now moaning at her new b/f to buy a "decent" car, she gets a lift in to work with me most mornings and refuses to go out in her other half's car!!! Hmmmm, sweet sweet revenge!
  12. Andrew - funnily enough I had exactly the same response from Southampton Lexus - see post IS200 Alloy wheels - Again! They told me of the policy - i was most unhappy and called Lexus GB, who weren't particularly helpful. My biggest issue is that no-one can tell me if the work is going to cost me or not before they do it! I can't really believe it! I have givn up for the minute - i just don't have the time to chase it! Next time im in Bracknell or Bristol (where our other offices are) I will pop in to another dealer and try their response. I'll let you know how it goes. Andy
  13. To be honest after talking to LGB I think the dealer is either talking from previous experience or taking the policy down to the letter - which I can't blame them for. I guess I'm just an unlucky one - but still fuming from the call to Lexus. Wasn't very "customer focused" in my view. Anyone have a high up contact at Lexus i can write to? I'm going to give up on the wheels i think, but if one of my customer service agents spoke to a customer how I got treated today I would be expecting a letter!!!
  14. Just go off the phone to Lexus GB... "I don't think the dealership are being unfair, we are trying to warn our customers that a cost may be incurred. What we are saying is your wheels will be sent off for refurbishment by a specialist wheel company, if there is a cost to repair the curb damage - we cannot be held responsible for driver error and it will be past on to yourself. If you like we can charge you now for the work and credit you at a later date."
  15. Rob have you had any warranty work done with Southampton yet? As I said before, they have always been good to me in the past :sniff: As for Snows hmmmm, I heard this in that news letter they send round, great no we're affiliated with Hampshire's biggest BMW dealer! :flaming:
  16. I am running Dunlop's on the front, which seem to be fine. I couldn't get the dunlops when the backs needed replacing so I went with BF Goodrich, certainly had no probs with them, although the profile seems to be a bit larger on them?!? Maybe just my eyes, or the fact that my fronts are now in desperate need of changing ;)
  17. Always makes me chuckle reading Lexus ad's from supposed "eXpert dealers" Loads of Extras: 17" alloys, Heated seats, blah blah blah" and the ultimate "full electric kit" No no no no no mon petite people, do you think we are gullable Beeeemer owners???
  18. Im fine, no no really i always rock to and fro like this, the hair? in my hands? yes yes im going bald, no i didnt pull it out!
  19. Thanks all for the info, I wasn't going to post the dealers name but ahh well, since it was asked - Southampton. I won't right a review as I have never had a problem in the past, however my last was a company car, so everything was done really well, i never really got involved with the "hassle" side. They kinda caught me on a bad day, stuck in traffic hours, bad meeting, then bits of me car falling off. Having two warranty claims in 5 mins rejected was the final straw! :( Has anyone used Lexus Guildford at all? My next nearest one so i may give them a go. Thanks again A
  20. I take it no-one has the ferrari card yet then?!?!? I've heard of 5 digit offers going round for that card now! Guess its still alot cheaper than buying one!!!
  21. I just took my car down to my local dealer, for them to look at two things. Firstly my wheels, i took them off the other day and they were badly corroded! The woman there took one look at the car (hardly even a look) and said "I can order you some new ones but i don't advise. If i send these back with damage Lexus UK will just charge you direct for the replacements. It's up to you but i would get them refurbished" My argument was that no way was the rim damage remotely significant compared to the corrosion, she said "you're choice". Just wondered if this was the case, do Lexus UK - really not give their dealership the power to decide whether work is classed as warranty or not?!?!? Are they that untrusting?! Or is it the paperwork is too much hassle, and the dealership makes little or no money from it? Secondly, one of the plastic trims on the underbody (like stone kick plates) of my car broke today under what i would say was wind resistence pressure. (driving at 80/5 mph and it snapped). They refused to replace this under warranty as the 17 yr old looking mechanic was adament he had to remove part of a dead animal. I asked him to show me where abouts on the front of the car this animal left the rest of itself (being the lowest point) to which he shrugged and walked off for the argument to be settled with a receptionist! I decided a £25 part wasn't worth the hassle, so paid up. Someone may remember me saying how happy I was with my local dealer b4, but OOOOOoooooh NOOOOOOO! :flaming: Anyway, is it just me being the annoying arrogant customer we all hate, is it Lexus UK being tight on warranty work - or my dealer after more of my money?????
  22. Shouldn't it read "and tell the people to get out in 30 secs before the car locks again!" Djanderso????
  23. :o:smilegrin::o:smilegrin::o:smilegrin::o:smilegrin::o
  24. This just gets more confoooosin'! Jimmy - (Pre 2002 it seems) one click sets dead lock and motion. Second click disables just motion, leaves everything else on. I guess the purpose is for anyone leaving pets, children, or just fancies the contents of their car being nicked - so they can leave windows/sun roof open without the wind (or any of the above creatures) setting the alarm off.
