  1. If you do need a battery , get yourself down to eurocarparts and get the bosch s4, if you buy it thru' ebay it's even cheaper and you can collect from your local branch.
  2. keep looking, you'll find the right one and, like toffee_pie says, get at least the Se-i preferably the Se-L.
  3. I'd stick with the Bridgestones Nigel, had two on the front 3 months back, very stable and prdictable in both wet and dry. gonna put them on the back as well when they need changing.
  4. Don't rely on this Exdee, mine shows bright blue, 'battery ok', the battery tester however says call the cardiac arrest team cos the battery's dead. There's a marked improvement in the crank 'speed' now, 1/2 second to start as opposed to 1 - 2 seconds
  5. Thanks for the replies chaps, Bosch s4 being fitted as soon as I've had some kip and 'the wife' has been to pick it up for me. Steve.
  6. Already had a multimeter on it, and from switch off the voltage is 12.55 dropping regularly by 0.1 every 1.5 - 2 seconds, thats everything off but not locked. voltage on idle is 14.19 - 14.14. When this occurred yesterday I checked the voltage and that was 11.4ish.
  7. Hi All, I know that battery drain problems have been covered before but here's a new slant on it. Drove to work last night (18 miles), stopped the car for maybe ten minutes, went to start and move it again. not a lot ust a half hearted chug out of the starter, so had to resort to jump leads and moved the car 30 ft? maybe then parked overnight. get to the car this morning expecting to need the jump leads again, but it just managed to turn over enough to start. new battery time ?. Any thoughts on this one will be gratefully rec'd. Steve
  8. When you say you moved the neg wire, do you mean just the wire or did the battery post move? another one to check is the terminal on the end of the neg wire, I have seen these become loose before now.
  9. Just had this done on an insurance claim, bumper wrap, paint, parking sensor, h/l unit fog ,lamp and all clips, deep breath .........just short of £1200.00 this was at nottm lexus.
  10. Here's one, I noticed recently that one of the illuminated door switches was no longer lit. has anyone tried changing one of the bulbs inside the switch? I have somewhere local that can supply the probable bulb, just wondered if anyone had tried this and had any tips/tricks for doing it.
  11. Wouldn't have thought replacing a caliper would give a warning light they're not usually a 'married' part and the pad thickness warning is a simple complete the circuit setup.
  12. Had Lexus Nottingham refurb both my fronts. charged me £80.00.
  13. I wouldn't go for less than Bridgesones personally. budget are cheap for a reason, maybe made from a very hard long wearing compound so not very good grip. maybe not quite round and so vibrate. quite a lot of things to put you off.
  14. Sorry for not replying earlier, just got back off hols. I'll give it another try later, would it be worth trying a little light leverage?.
  15. That's what I thought you were going to say, I think mine's been glued in somtime before I bought it cos a 'tug' isn;t doing it.
  16. Just going off topic slightly, does anyone know how to take the glovebox shelf out so I can access the a/c filter. I know for the filter the a/c must bi in recirculate mode but I'm having a bit of an argument with the shelf.
  17. Why not try and get the p/n from a different dealer, even if you have to ring six or seven.
  18. Not as far as I can tell from the h/b, but doesn't the air supply for the rear of the cabin pass under there? If you had the a/c on it will have leeched any warmth out of the console.
  19. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/UNIVERSAL-IN-CAR-MOBILE-PHONE-HOLDER-iPhone-3-4-4S-5-HTC-Samsung-Galaxy-Sony-/400442230670?pt=UK_Holders_Mounts&hash=item5d3c37878e. Bluenose 1940, this is exactly the same as mine, also mounts phone to top of the dash if wanted.
  20. No it's not the cheapest is it? but, it will take most smartphones and it keeps the phone close to the glass and reduces reflection in the recording.
  21. mine's a 2009 model with 50.000 miles and the gear stick is still as it should be ( slick but not sloppy ).
