  1. Thinking of being a bit lazy for a year or 2 so opting for a auto (sick of changing up and down in flippin traffic all the time). and need a bit more speed which is why it's gotta be the RS200. Dunno about the Altezza looking better than an Aristo - I'd need my beer glasses on to agree with that. :D :D @ Mr Singh as your car is a minter it's probably gonna be slightly out of my price range. I'd probably have to be an expert ay haggling to get it for the price I'm looking at! :D Thanks for the help, I'll let you know when/if I can get one. Miles
  2. Thanks for the info Noel. So I take it then that if I spot an interior piccy with the shift buttons on the steering then it's the RS200 model then? That's what I've been thinking but needed confirmation so I didn't waste my time looking. @Gord: nice to see you're still on here fella with an IS again (that BM was nice though! ). Pretty sure the fella buying/selling all the Aristos isn't on here but he seemed to have a monopoly on them at one time when I was looking to buy again, bought them all cheap before anyone else, then added a substantial profit margin. Suppose everyones gotta make a living :( I was soooooo tempted to get the supercharger from ebay but as I hadn't seen the right IS yet then it seemed a bit backwards. The S/C ones on here are just a little out of my budget but very nice motors all the same. I'll just have to keep my eyes peeled. Ta, Miles
  3. Howdy guys, it's been a long time since posting on here. Hope everyone is doing fine. I'm looking at every option of getting back into the lexus brand with the right sort of car....give up waiting for another Aristo at the right price as they seem to be bought up quickly (usually by the same bloke - but that's another story ) Anyway been looking at a couple of Altezzas on the net and just wanted to know how to tell if one is a RS200 at a glance. Does it just come down to the RS200 has the tiptronic gear shift? Or does the AS200 also come with this as well? Was even tempted to supercharge an IS200 again but left that one to some other lucky guy - £1650 is a bargain! Any help would be appreciated. Ta, Miles
  4. Yep so did I :P :D :D ....... . Think it's standard on the V300. But need to know about the GS300?
  5. Did the tiptronic gearing appear on the GS300 or was this just on the 430? If it was an optional extra how much did it cost? Ta, Miles
  6. Thanks for the suggestions guys. Hi Winnie, It's an item in Essex to be brought to St.helens/Liverpool. Thanks, Miles
  7. Hi, Can any of you guys who use couriers regulary recommend one for me? Only to carry a pram from south to north so nothing too heavy or bulky but need someone cheap and reliable? Thanks in advance, Miles
  8. As Dave said the V300 is an excellent car. My V5 was displayed as Aristo V300 vertex and the insurance was very high. Classed the same as any high end speed machine. Don't know about what the GS300 is like but I went from £715 for a S/C IS200 to £1250 for the Aristo so that's a fair increase in premium. The Aristo was reliable, but if the turbos go you're looking at a pricey job - listening for a loud whine will give indication of this. Regarding maintanace I got recommended to get an oil change around every 6000 miles - similar to other Jap performance cars - but whether it is necessary I don't know. The only other issue to be aware of is getting the car checked thoroughly if it hasn't been imported from new as you may only have paperwork from the point it landed on our shores and for all you know if could have been previously damaged or stolen. Hope this helps, I'm sure others will be along shortly to add their piece. Miles
  9. Makes an already sweet looking car even sweeter!!! :D v nice mate
  10. I personally don't think they look all that bad. I used to have these wheels on my Aristo and though they were awesome. Definitely looked better in the metal. Suppose you'd be better looking for some second hand ones and then selling these on if you don't like them, they look well suited to soarers. I'm sure they cost a ridiculous amount from Lexus as well.
  11. When I took my IS to Lexus Liverpool last time the safety report had a bill of £1280.....took it to the garage round the corner and it cost me £230! I'd even took out a loan to cover everything. Ended up buying the supercharger with the money saved!!! :D :D Good luck with the purchase.
  12. Did anyone on here bid on this? Or even lucky enough to have won it? Was going for it myself until it flew past the 4500 mark :P
  13. Anyone tried Sky insurance....it did the job for me beating Adrian Flux and Tesco's by over a grand! :o
  14. Anyone in the region fancy having a look at this? ;)
  15. I had this on my Aristo as well mate. Pity it couldn't be done remotely although depending on the alarm there may be after market add ons available.
  16. Not 100% sure but can't you adjust the tension of the boot so it makes it a little stiffer to shut? Think I can remember seeing something on the clublexus site that showed how to do this...maybe worth checking this out for all those with a killer boot :shruriken:
  17. I had Maxi's on mine as well....wonder if this was down to the tires then You'll probably notice a lot of jealous idiots on the road getting road rage now, as many people will falsely think you're a flash barstool!!!! :P :D Little do they know that the car costs less than a new Fiesta! Gotta be the bargain car of the century for me! <_< :D
  18. I could spin my wheels as well at about 50mph and always thought that it may happen at higher speeds - definitely brown pants time! Didn't try it again after that. Looks nice - definitely get some 19's on it like Mitul mentioned.
  19. Just a bit of a difference between an Aigo and a V300 mate!! :D I'm sure you'll enjoy the new motor mate it looks v nice and they're a great drive. Smooth and slow when you want them to be and then all of a sudden a friggin' beast. Gotta run them on high RON petrol though which dents the pocket. Good luck, I'm well jealous!!!! One day I'll return! :D
  20. Good luck with your new motor, v nice cars! @Paradroid you could always try Lexus Liverpool...they were pretty good everytime I've been there.
  21. Went to the TC loads of times in the IS and never had a problem once. Maybe it depend on what side you park. :D :P
  22. Hi Guys, Thinking of buying some RSC mono alloys (18"), has anyone got these on their car? Or has anyone seen these in the flesh (metal :) )? I'm not sure if the style of these wheels will make them look smaller than 18" and so arn't worth buying. :duh: Or just let me know if you like them or not... Thanks, Miles
  23. After selling the Aristo and much mulling over at what type of car to buy I keep getting drawn back to an IS200 (again!) - something like a 2000 model. Seen a couple of the Navigator ones for sale and just want to know if the sat nav is worth the extra cost? Also how easy is it to then hook this up to a DVD player or freeview box? Cheers, Miles
  24. Nice one lads. Parthiban when yours was replaced by the dealer was that the price painted?
  25. Good morning, On the off chance..... I don't suppose anyone has an IS200 rear bumper (in blue ideally) they're wishing to sell or even know how much they are? Thanks, Miles
