  1. Surely that’s ‘luxury’- driving something you enjoy? - good point well made
  2. So have you driven a current and new ES given you slate them so much? And in this thread alone you don’t like anything 300h, the GS and call the IS 200t a waste of time and an absolute disgrace...I mean you are entitled to your opinion but as you don’t like the GS or the ES I’m wondering why your even so bothered as to be ranting on this thread so much
  3. Yes this is true, but as your default position is every Lexus except yours is crap, despite that you have probably never driven them or owned them then we can all take your rants for what they are.
  4. Just responding to your assertion 200t neither fast or economical, yet better than 250 on both counts. Of all the cars you claim to have owned and all the cars available you claim to be stuck in a gen2 250 for the weirdest reasons.
  5. Except of course there are New shape is250’s and 200t, RC 200t. RCF, GS450h, GS250, NX200t - autotrader.com - your hardly stuck on a last gen is250 if you don’t want 300h
  6. whilst I lament the loss of the GS, we shouldnt let our perception of the current ES cloud our judgment of the new one. Its on a new platform which has beemn well recieved in other models and has LS inspired styling - which is good thing. IF this car has been designed\engineered to step up from the current generation ES to rival that class of car then thats encouraging.

  8. "Dont know what people are on tbh - the Arteon is a brilliant car and so is the new A4, even in 190ps FWD 2.0l guise." but the GS isnt a PassatCC or A4 equivalent car. if the ES is a replacement for the GS then it seems like it may be a step down.....
  9. Lexus have announced a new model reveal at the Beijing motorshow at the end of April -looking at the teaser pic of the front grill and the pic Rayaans posted its the New ES...
  10. Having read its a Passt CC rival - Im more in agreement with you to be honest. The GS is a RWD 5 series competitor. The ES is a FWD Passat competitor. This does leave me feeling somewhat underwhelmed. But, I will wait for the ES and hope it suprises me. In a good way.
  11. RWD vs FWD on public roads makes next to no difference in the corners. Better traction from a standstill and that’s only if you floor the throttle. It’s also strange new ES is your least favourite by far , we haven’t even seen it yet, or had specs confirmed or know how it drives or wether AWD will be an option.
  12. That was a strange rant. I could understand if you drove say a Caterham or Lotus Elise.. The IS250 is a fine car but a dynamic drive it is not. I’ve driven several FWD cars which are better to drive
  13. The ES is based on the Avalon. Can’t see them bothering with the 3.5 at all in Europe
  14. "Have discovered a scratch in the NSR passenger door on the bamboo wood insert nothing too deep but unsightly to me and I want it gone. I've foolishly enquired at Lexus regarding the cost and its £280 as it has to come all the way from Japan." This is partly why now we have 2 dogs, Im very reluctant to let them in my car...
  15. even with the memory seats, best bet is dont let her drive it. I dont drive my Mrs Merc so all is fair. (mind you thats fine by me as I like a car that completes journeys on its own not on a flatbed lol)
  16. 'tis a fine looking car. Pity wont be RWD (assuming this does replace the GS which feels pretty likely) but such is the way things are going. Presumably UK wont get the turbo...
  17. forgot to mention, also need to carry a child in the middle seat so hammock isnt practical
  18. HI, Anyone carry dogs in their GS? I was thinking of a rear seat cover with dog harnesses attached to seatbelts for 2 x smallish dogs. Or is it a no no from a damage\mess point of view. Advice\experience most welcome of dogs in a saloon car....
  19. My reply was cannot comment on model line up before any press announcement.
  20. Ive emailed Lexus UK and asked what is happening with the GS. Will let you know if I get anything back.
  21. Yes your right it’s now based on the Avalon which is itself based on a modified longer wheelbase Camry platform, which currently is fwd or awd
