  1. Yes I noticed the weight varies a little on the ones I was looking at. Varta is 18KG, Advanced is 21KG, Yuasa HSB030 (from Halfords) is 18.1KG, Halfords own brand HB030 18.3KG, Yuasa YBX3030 (on Yuasa website) 17.3KG. So from a weight point of view these ones appear similar. Maybe really cheaper brands would be a lot lighter. Thanks for the heads up.
  2. Sounds good. Might do the Varta deal then with my local garage but I'll check out the Toyota dealer first as suggested by Malc1 and see if they do Varta. Thanks.
  3. Yes, but then you have to fit it yourself. Don't fancy that personally.=, but I know a lot on here would DIY. Thanks anyway.
  4. My car, GS300 MK3 2007. Current battery is a Halfords HB030 and when my local garage serviced the car this week they reported that the battery had failed their Battery Test. In their opinion Halfords batteries are rubbish! They recommend Yuasa and Varta. Just checked prices etc, Halfords offer Yuasa HB030 (same number as their own Halfords battery) £166.49 inc. fitting. The Yuasa website quotes YBX3030 72Ah and 630 amps, whereas the Yuasa HB030 at Halfords says 75Ah and 650 amps, you'd think they would be the same. My local garage can supply and fit the Varta E23 (570412063) at £156. A company local to me in Stockport, advancedbatterysupplies.co.uk can supply the Varta at £165. They can also supply their own branded Advanced 068XD Type, 5 year warranty at £145 with mobile fitting. Anyone on here got a preference for Halfords, Yuasa or Varta or Advanced branded batteries?
  5. Agree, far too expensive. I'll look out for the cheaper ones.
  6. https://www.smartbuyglasses.co.uk/designer-sunglasses/Jaguar/Jaguar-7254-Polarized-4820-542441.html I found this by entering 7254 CE UK cat 1 into google. ???
  7. Can you take a photo of your nighttime glasses and state name, model number, where to buy etc? Thanks.
  8. What is the RFL for the GS430? The seller is quoting £395 which I suspect is the 6 month figure? My GS300 is £615 p.a. for the renewal just received.
  9. Are there any cars of any brand not affected by Canbus?
  10. Might stop the car being stolen but won't stop the damage caused by an attempted can bus theft and all the inconvenience and cost involved.
  11. Please let us know if you get it back and if so what the damage is to indicate the method used to steal it. If it was the Canbus method this is really putting me off buying a used 2018 to 2021 NX. Very disappointing.
  12. NX stolen 3 days ago, see the NX forum. As it's not be recovered it's not known which method was used. It is a concern though and is putting me off buying a 2018 to 2021 used one.
  13. Do we know of any SUVs, any brand, which do not suffer from this vulnerability?
  14. Catalytic converter thefts from the NX have been discussed previously and the bottom line seems to be that it is highly unlikely to have a CAT stolen from an NX. What about Canbus NX thefts? Has anyone on here experienced that? In addition we of course also have the theft problem via relay.
  15. 1. I've been reading the warranty T&Cs on the Lexus website. It mentions the "12 month service activated warranty" applicable from the day a USED Lexus is purchased from a Lexus dealer and continues each time the vehicle is serviced by a Lexus dealer for a further 12 months (or 10K miles) up to 10 years old or 100,00 miles. How is this different from the Relax servicing/warranty talked about on this forum? 2. Used cars for sale on the Lexus website sometimes say "Negotiate on this car". However, some forum members have recently stated that Lexus dealers don't negotiate. I'd welcome guidance on this, for example a car I'm interested in is priced at £31,990 and it's difficult to know what to offer. Of course whatever they offer off the price is potentially going to affect the price they offer in PX.
  16. Can this be done on a 2007 GS300?
  17. I've got the same problem. Had the system reset by a local tyre fitting company but only ok for about one day. Can't decide which sensors to buy and from where as there are so many makes available. They are quite expensive depending on where bought, especially from a main Lexus dealer. At the moment just ignoring the warning light as I check tyre pressures regularly so I know they are OK.
  18. Agree. Ridiculous charge for updates. I use Waze on my iPhone, no problems and cost nothing. I too use RAC for breakdown cover and as you say it covers me, my wife and as passengers in any other car. Haven't got a mistress though 🙂
  19. If you don't read your car manual you'll have to answer to John @royoftherovers 🤣
  20. Brilliant, I assume you're happy with it (daft question). The NX is what I'll probably change to at some point, as like you I would like the higher driving position and ease of access etc. We are starting to notice minor difficulty when getting into the GS300, we've both just turned 75, but the time will come when it's too difficult and then it will be time to change. I've been looking at prices for year 2018 onwards and they have risen quite a lot in the last 12/18 months or so. I wonder if they'll fall back at all? Apparently all to do with shortage of computer chips for new cars, but you know that of course. The Luxury seems a good spec but would be nice to get the spec that has the memory settings for the driver's seat which I have on the GS, but can't have everything. I was surprised to read this week that MPG isn't that great on the NX. I get about 24MPG locally and about 34MPG on long runs with the GS300. Was hoping to improve on that with the NX. However the RFL will be a lot lower than the GS300.
  21. I didn't know you had an NX John, thought you had the GS and the Mercedes?
  22. Hi Joe. Is the TPMS system still working ok 2 years on? I need to replace the sensors on my GS300 2007.
