  1. WHAT........... That's their standard service rate, I'm sure I was quoted a discounted rate for the cambelt job together with water pump, pulleys etc
  2. Was the 430 face lifted at some point? The headlights look sleeker than the ones I've seen previously That looks great, didn't think I'd say that about a 430 if I'm honest
  3. Why do the main dealer insist a transmission oil change wasn't needed on my mk4?
  4. Think that was discussed befor, possible it's an import as it has touch screen on a mk3
  5. Cambelt was done at 65k miles which was well over 10yrs ago based on mot history, so would need factoring in.
  6. Just followed the above eastbound on A406 north circular. Was going through the average speed cams so couldn't get close unfortunately
  7. this is what i'm seeing on Rockauto: 223 for compressor 60 for shipping 56 for import duty (now removed an aircon flush canister)
  8. Nope mine were still there, just missing the caps that fit over the pegs for additional security. As mentioned though, these mats are yet to slip in my own usage so far.
  9. Overtook us in our Cmax, I think a Silver/grey-ish W reg, a few hours ago. Sounded like a fruitier exhaust note too ? Sounded great :)
  10. Agreed, I'm just wary of used parts, might be a false economy if it fails after few k miles.
  11. Thanks - the £360 price I quoted for Rock auto includes postage at £60 ish. So £120 more than the cheapest option. I'll speak to Japex today to see what options they offer.
  12. The whine i'd been experiencing since purchase of my 98 LS400 was checked out by Japex today, turns out its the AC compressor bearing. I've only spoken to reception there, so don't have the full picture, however she mentioned it was the 'internal bearing' on the compressor. Will speak to them in the morning, however has anyone got any sources for a new compressor ? So far, I've captured the following: Rock auto - DENSO 4711220 (new) - circa £360 delivered http://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/lexus,1998,ls400,4.0l+v8,1316123,heat+&+air+conditioning,a/c+compressor,6628 autodock.co.uk - anyone tried the cheapest one here for £240 (new) - https://www.autodoc.co.uk/car-parts/compressor-parts-10454/lexus/ls/ls-ucf20/9564-400 UK option? listed as Soarer, will it fit? (rebuilt) http://automotivecompressor.co.uk/epages/eshop931745.sf/en_GB/?ObjectPath=/Shops/eshop931745/Categories/Lexus Unsure about the 2nd hand route, could be a false economy ?
  13. Was Lexus LS central today 2x 430 + mine Have read good things about Japex, feeling reassured when I saw the company I was in :)
  14. Depends what you're going to do with it? Eg putting 15-20k miles a year on a car with 200k might be a bit much. Depends also how well it's been looked after ?
  15. Fwiw - I enquired with h&r Germany about their lowering springs, however for some reason they are only sold in the uS, but are made in Germany. Unsure why we don't get them over here: http://www.redline360.com/hr-sport-lowering-springs-lexus-ls400-52426 A one inch drop would be just perfect IMO
  16. Ad updated advising buyer couldn't get insurance - I know this well, the insurance on the Lex was more than my higher powered, higher valued Audi s8
  17. Available again? http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/lexus-ls400-/252786596036?hash=item3adb4158c4%3Ag%3AFUgAAOSwfVpYrfTj&_trkparms=pageci%253A42172d96-fb41-11e6-aac0-74dbd1a043db%257Cparentrq%253A74b70de615a0a786ccdf9204ffea0a7c%257Ciid%253A2
  18. How much are a set of 1998 16" wheels (no tyres) in good-to-VGC worth ? The spare looks unused to me, might even be the original tyre.
  19. Thats a Mk3 - https://en.shpock.com/i/WK39g3YBilJji0W9/ Still, looks nice enough, nice colour combo too
