  2. The factory spec of the car will be on the Drivers 'B' post just under the door lock striking plate,
  3. I don't think that car is a SE-L. Only The SE-L had Yamaha's high gloss wood ( and it is real wood) panels in the doors and centre consol and the rear electric operated sun blind. paul m.
  4. I saw that 10k one....pushing their luck there, but that's dealers for you, keep it bookmarked it may come down! paul m.
  5. Work done by Lexus should ( I say should because some have said their info is missing!) be available to view via the MyLexus portal on the Lexus website for your particular car. paul m.
  6. Hi, did you manage to install Techstream and connect it to your 250 and get an outcome for your O2 sensor dilemma? Paul m.

  8. Have you read this thread? The Sensor has a Heater circuit & a Sensor circuit, the fault in the following thread was the sensor Iirc but you have a Heater fault showing in the same component so after checking physically for and damage to the wiring going to the sensor the procedure will be the same. paul m.
  9. Back to the OP topic of Lexus & Diesel, well apparently Lexus have not sold a new Diesel car anywhere in the world in the Last 7 years!! https://www.carthrottle.com/post/lexus-was-laughing-at-dieselgate-before-it-even-happened/ and others are following... Has Diesel had its day in the small mid size road vehicle due mainly to emissions compliance? https://www.carthrottle.com/post/fcas-diesel-passenger-cars-are-set-to-die-off-by-2022/ https://www.carthrottle.com/post/porsche-has-completely-ditched-diesel-engines-from-its-cars/ But then there is always one...https://www.carthrottle.com/post/ford-has-announced-a-brand-new-bi-turbo-234bhp-diesel-for-europe/ Paul m.
  10. Check this thread and it has the sellers details in the last post. good piece of kit with good instructions and phone backup if needed. https://au.lexusownersclub.com/forums/topic/10473-auto-folding-mirrors/?page=2 paul m.
  11. According to .Gov the car is down as Black. Reminds me of that what looked like a Drug Dealers Range Rover that Mike Brewer done up a few years back! "Acquired taste" and "Hideous" we're used to describe it, proper Chav if you ask me. http://wheelerdealers.discoveryuk.com/gallery/range-rover/ paul m.
  12. Replacement gas struts can be had here, https://www.sgs-engineering.com/car-boot-tailgate/lexus/ls I have used them and can recommend, not cheap but good quality and a lot cheaper than genuine I know! paul m.
  13. As this Poll has been posted in the 'F' section do I assume that you are only wanting responses from 'F' car users on their fuel choice? paul m.
  14. +1 on waiting for the 'One' to come along, peaches do come up every now and again so make sure you have signed up for email notifications from auto trader with your specs. Paul m.
  15. Just a point Rob but the links that you have posted have got your ( I guess Home address) postcode showing in them! Try and edit to change for the ads Without logging into Autotrader if you don't want it shown. paul m.
  16. Lots of info here https://www.honestjohn.co.uk/carbycar/lexus/is-2005/ paul m.
  17. +1 on choosing the Black leather, it is not going to show any let's say marks as quickly as say the Beige! And for me personally it looks more luxurious than the grey! Dunno if it's true but I'm led to believe that the black leather was the thickest and therefore more durable of all the colours! have you seen the pre-purchase tips here paul m.
  18. If you are sure that if you bypass the AC pulley the belt will not foul on any other parts then the way forward would be to determine the length of the new belt required by measuring the length around all the pulleys ( not AC obs!) in millimetres as aux belt serial numbers have the length in mm in there somewhere! Everything you wanted to know about polyvee belts here https://simplybearings.co.uk/shop/Belts-Multi-Ribbed-Poly-V-Belts/c4601_4791/index.html Paul m.
  19. I like your thinking there fella! You have decided to purchase a fantastic car ( not that I'm bias!) yes it may cost a bit more to run than some other cars out there but the sublime enjoyment from the pure luxury is great! Unless you are really really unlucky you should'nt be spending much on parts and you are gonna get a lot of car for your budget! Don't be put off by any cars you look at that have poor finish on the lacquer on the alloy wheels , there were cars getting their wheels changed under warranty because of this and sometimes more than once! Could be a good bargaining tool. you are right about the toys, my 11 year old 250 SE-L has got radar cruise, voice control of entertainment and realtime traffic SatNav!!! Paul M.
  20. +1 on the folding mirror modification, there does seem to be more than one option out there but I recommend getting the PO-40 hardware from the Aussie Guy ( sorry can't remember details but a search should bring up info!) the kit is well built and instructions and after support is available if you self install. I installed it to have a visual indication from afar to show that the car is indeed locked! paul m.
  21. With the belt removed there will be no power to the water pump (WP) and the Altenator (GEN) so you would not be able to physically drive the car very far without implications! Looks very tight if not impossible to by-pass the AC by using a shorter belt.
  22. That's not good!.... could it just be the electric clutch and can this be swapped out? Also can the engine be ran with a shorter aux belt that does not go over the AC pulley or is it physically not possible to do that on this engine? paul m.
  23. Praise indeed! Question ( as you have done 30k in this car now) I have heard that 6th gear on the 220 is quite a 'high' gear and coupled with a low revving (compared to petrol) engine does not really come into comfortable use until 80+ MPH, which in this country ( Gatso strewn!) could be costly!! So how do you find it? paul m.
