  1. If someone other than you Has used it then it might be because multiple button presses of the key fob may have changed some of the entry system settings. paul m.
  2. I have looked in the manual and it makes no mention anywhere of multiple flashes when unlocking, only 1 for lock, 2 for unlock. Owners Manual here: https://secure.drivers.lexus.com/lexusdrivers/resources/owners-manuals?type=om paul m.
  3. If everything is working as it should then yes I agree it is 'trying to tell you something' but it is a shame that it is very difficult to find out What!!! paul m.
  4. Have you tried a 're-set', battery dis-connect for a few minutes, note you will have to re-learn each window ( and sunroof?) and may lose trip figures and radio pre-sets. paul m.
  5. Updating satnav is either via DVD or SD memerory card. Yours will prob be SD card but more info here ( not saying purchase here though!) https://www.lexus-mapupdates.eu/?utm_source=LexusOwnersClubUK&utm_medium=ForumLinks Here's an eBay example of genuine ( Premium ) item No 152718722966 paul m.
  6. I don't think that Lexus subscribed to the radio code system but others might come along and confirm or deny. has it ever 'asked' for a code if the battery has been disconnected in the past? paul m.
  7. Part of the logic here might depend on whether you intend selling the car in the future and have ,as a selling point, a 'perfect' service history book. I personally have never actually sold a car of mine! 2 scrapped due to mot cost, 2 written off ( not my fault!) and 1 given away! so if you ( like me) intend keeping the car forever ( if you got anything to do with it) then the quality of the servicing is gonna be more important than (expensive) stamps in a book. I am not saying forfeit any servicing but you know your own vehicle! paul m.
  8. Not to sure..But I think he liked it! paul m.
  9. If you now have any clips missing then they probably did actually touch the covers!!! Paul m.
  10. Anyone know of a car going in and coming out of KwikRip with a no advisory Pass Mot? ( It's just that The cynical side of me would like to know as I too am very wary of KwikRip) Paul m.
  11. Just done some searching and it turns out to be Season 4, Episodes 11 & 12 of Wheeler Dealers that done the 'make-over' on the LS400 if you want to check it out. just found a very poor ( sound & video!) example on U-Toob the screen fix starts @ 15m15seconds. https://youtu.be/GhPblOuSUnQ first aired in Oct 2006 paul m.
  12. Nice. 56k in 20 years!!!! 'Mazin, I recall Ed China doing the display failed fix on Wherler dealers on this motor a few years ago, you could prob look up the episode and IIRC the part came from the US. And I think that once the heated seats give up then owners accept that and live without. all the best with your new joy. paul m.
  13. +1 on getting a petrol Lexus. Please don't judge the Lexus brand on just owning the DERV version ( biggest mistake Lexus made was putting a D on the boot lid!) Paul m.
  14. I have just ordered a pair of these puppies from SGS for my IS so I guess sometime next week I'm gonna be scrabbling around in the boot fitting them! Question? Are they as easy to fit as it looks? Some have stated that one end of the replacement struts is a bit different to the OEM but fit anyway. I was expecting them to have 'socket' ends that fit over ball ended bolts and then secured with a spring clip that restricts the ball from coming back out, pretty much like the struts that are fitted to hatchbacks. Has anyone any thoughts or indeed fitted some type of auxiliary Spring somehow so that when the boot is unlocked ( keyfob/dash switch) enables it to open fully and not just unlatch it. Or is this not recommended for some reason? paul m.
  15. Well, that post of mine above has gone and jinxed it good and proper, my 10+ year old original Panasonic has gone and bit the dust with a Click-Click-Click-Click-Click the other morning!! So over the last week have been trying to beat up prices and narrowed it down to getting either, Battery size Mine. 257. 170. 200 CCA. L. W. H. Years Make £ GSF Parts. 570. 260. 174. 225 inc terms. 3. Yuasa. 64.00 Del Roughtrax 260. 170. 200. 2. Toyota. 83.40 Eurocarparts 630. 260. 173. 200. 4. Bosch S4. 83.04 Battery2U. 630. 261. 175. 200. 4. Varta. 71.60. Del??? So in the end I went for the Bosch S4 026 (068) from ECP ( the previous post's in this thread sort of swayed it to be honest) In my quest I found that the manufacture date ( on Bosch anyway, Duracell Do Not date mark their batteries!) can be determined by the fourth, Fifth and Sixth number etched into the case of the battery and de-coded with this chart ( could only find a Russian version but you can work out the Months along the top row) Paul m.
  16. Don't know if you noticed but it appears that you have posted your address postcode by copying that ad link! just saying chap, In case you weren't aware. cheers Paul m.
  17. Logical fault finding- I fully agree, 1, don't always assume new parts are good! 2, try and swap known good parts to eliminate other components 3, rare but don't dismiss the fact you may have in fact TWO faults, this can happen in modern cars full of sophisticated electronics whereby the catastrophic failure of one (normally high powered) component can impact on another. It is human nature to want one fix but it may if fact require more than one component, hopefully not in your case. paul m.
  18. Talking of CD's is your SatNav a CD based one or SD card as it might be the SatNav CD which is in behind the dash is it not? paul m.
  19. I have just tried this feature using the fob for my 2007 IS and alas it does not seem to work! I was more interested in the battery saving feature than than the theft problem to be honest! I guess it was a feature added to the gen 3 IS or can anyone tell be different? paul m.
  20. 3-4 minutes you say?? I have had a couple of times, since owning my 250 in Aug last year, a 2-3 second rattle from under the bonnet upon start up. I am led to believe that this is due the the engine oil draining out completely, due to gravity!, of the upper hydraulic valve lifters and upon start up until oil pressure is produced the valves make a god awful noise, and from some homework I have done apparently it is acceptable! This does not look to be the same 'problem' as you are describing as if it went on for 2-3 minutes I would expect real damage. paul m.
  21. +1 on that, mine slams down, if allowed, very un-Lexus like. Looks like I'm shopping for struts also. paul m.
  22. With you on the colour! Silver was/is my least favourite of the available options but when I went and stood in front of it after looking at a few let's say not so good ones! It was the ACC and Moonroof options that sold it, along with the FLSH & 37,000 in 10 years! Like I said can't wait to get hands on and bring it upto something like yours and get out in the summer and enjoy it. Paul m.
