  1. That's as shiny as a very shiny thing! Nice!! Black does look good detailed, you'll have to let us know how long it lasts. That g-tech stuff is meant to be good!
  2. Daily driven here too! My experience so far makes me wish i'd come to the 'reliable' side years ago. No signs of getting bored any time soon,
  3. Doors were frozen shut on mine this morning! Sounded ace on start up though!
  4. I like it in a "I like it because most people will hate it" way. I'd imagine the lack of acceleration and handling will wear pretty thin pretty fast given what you are coming from. It's cool like a well tricked up Nissan Cube is cool. I'm not sure it'll win any beauty contests though. I'm sat on the fence on this one.
  5. 4 or 5 months (can't remember now). 10k miles Just servicing and the dreaded water pump (about 400quid after members discount).
  6. Fairly snowy here. The Mrs woke me up saying "it's at least two inches". Not the first time I've heard that particular comment!
  7. Surely the cost of a new engine and fitting exceeds the loss you'd make on a trade to another ISF? I'd try and leave any emotional attachment out of it and look for the best financial route or this could be very costly. I obviously don't know the costs for you but I'd make a cost comparison of engine swap Vs trade in and see what works out best for your wallet.
  8. What? You mean there's a Grey ISF in that picture?
  9. I'm actually blind to any other colour but silver now. If there happens to be an ISF in any other colour than silver I don't even see it, just a big ISF shaped empty space where it should be. I assume the photo above is of a non-silver ISF. Just looks like an empty Garage with a weird ISF shaped blank space in the middle to me. Odd!
  10. Beemers are great if you want predictable maintenance costs. The same stuff goes wrong at the same mileages across the ranges so for that they can be good. Knowing what mileage car is likely to have a hefty bill just around the bend. Lexus approaches that in a different way..... Not much goes wrong. I prefer the Lexus option as it means more of my cash goes on spangly aftermarket parts rather than un-spangly essential mechanical items. Having owned 5 high performance Beemers in the past I wouldn't even want to know what they cost me in essential repairs over the years. Driving experience or no Driving experience. You can only drive them when they're not on a lift with some geezer about to tell you you need a new diff / steering rack / lower control arms / thermostat / PCV valve / rocker gasket / oil filter housing / injectors / turbos / cats.... Take your pick!
  11. +1 on the trade in route. Tell em you love it but you want one in a different colour. So sorry to hear you are having these issues mate. Had a similar situation with my old 335i. Needed new turbos and injectors so with labour it was going to be six grand and change. Ouch. Two days later I was hit in a queue of stationary traffic by a Ford Iveco going at full tilt. Problem solved. Only downside was a bit of whiplash. I'd get it traded in. Good luck whichever route you choose though.
  12. Just had mine done at 55,400 miles after it went in for airbag recall and 8 year service. I don't think the water pump was ever a recall but most posts seem to say it'll go around 60K if it's gonna go. 495quid for the service and 573quid for the water pump (holy puzzle Batman!) But managed to negotiate 10% off all the parts with my Gold Members card and they stuck 25quids worth of fuel in it too (part of the recall deal apparently). Made sure I had about 5 coffees, 2 cans of coke and an entire pack of biscuits too so I reckon I'm quids in! Saw 2 LC's back in with the fancy pop out door handles stuck popped out! Dealer reckons they've sold 8 of the non-hybrid versions and had 4 back with the sticky handles! Oh dear!
  13. Where did all those other posts come from? Stupid Blackberry! ignore me mate, glad you got it fixed
  14. Used to have a similar issue with all my old E46 BMW's that was down to the fabled 'hedgehog' resistor failing (no joke Google it!). 175quid to replace at the stealership or 15quid for a replacement from euro car parts and 25 minutes later you are back in action. Can't promise it's the same for our cars but I'd be surprised if it's not something as simple as this.
  15. Cool. If he drove off in an Alfa it will have collapsed in a pile of rust before he got home, making his earlier Lexus driving experience all the more rewarding! We should get a good review
  16. Bought those CF fog light covers myself a little while back along with CF splitters (two piece), Novel CF duct panels and a Toms CF rear diffuser too. All are being clear coated as we speak so will post some pics once they are fitted. The clear coating makes the carbon look permanently wet and glossy, the gel-coat all these bits come in out of the factory goes dull after a while if you don’t clear coat it so it’s well worth the effort. The fog light covers just stick on over the originals. I’ve no plans to take mine off so will be tiger-sealing them in place. Pics to follow soon. I do like those cf side skirt extensions though, looks like the seller is sold out now though
  17. Let’s hope he has some common sense then. If he drove off afterwards in anything German then he’s not to be trusted!
  18. Nice. Buy it back now before the price goes up! Here's hoping it wasn't handed to some M3 fanboy to review. Looking forward to seeing this when it comes out.
  19. Welcome Wayne! Good to see another Northern owner on here. I see you can spell Northern right though!
  20. Unless I am mistaken, 642 refers to the amount of penalty points Peter will have on his licence by Thursday.
  21. Oh my god! Defintely putting the wife on eBay now! As others have said.... what an achievement. Properly amazing. Love that underbonnet view
