  1. You know what these Italian drivers are like - - they'll drive on the wrong side of the road in an heartbeat! (😉)
  2. I'll blaspheme for a moment........ The 350h NX is ONLY a car! But your health is far far more valuable Ian. Look after your health, regular fluids, proper fuel, and get yourself MOT'd regularly. ((It's worth it!)
  3. Just add some adrenaline to the coffee Malc, I have found it aids reaction speed and the walking stick becomes ever more effective.
  4. That's the sort of information one can't take lying down! 😉 (and thanks for the update, Chris)
  5. Nick, Speak to Tony Banks in Leeds. They can bespoke anything you wish - - and they're first-class fabricators https://www.tonybanks.co.uk/
  6. Can you imagine the situation where a Lexus owner has either sold their car, (however improbable that may be!), or taken out a different Roadside retailer, or forgotten that a direct debit was due, and then kicked up a fuss because money had disappeared from their account (etc etc) I know we should all react in good time to email/text reminders, but I'm amazed at how many folk don't pay proper attention to reminders.
  7. And let's not forget that the car retail market has just undergone (undergoing?) an horrendously difficult sales period, car manufacturing affected badly, few new cars available, and customer incomes unreliable for two years, and now affected by rampant inflation. It's a foolhardy business that doesn't work hard to trim its overheads during such a protracted period of damaged profitability - and even premium brands are not protected from these issues.
  8. Carl, It's quite clear that you are so very upset. And it's a feeling that will live with you for a long time unless you take steps to resolve it. I suggest that you should have a frank and calm discussion with the owner of the dealership, and, if that doesn't put your mind at rest - then escalate the issue and talk to Lexus UK. I hope the issues are resolved and your peace of mind restored.
  9. Get it done Now Reassurance is worth much more than the cost of replacement
  10. It will help if one's completed a four-year-long apprenticeship with Cirque Du Soleil, and one's mastered dry-shaving with a broken bottle whilst in a backward somersault. But don't worry if not (we all have to start somewhere!)
  11. One could suggest that they've a trumpet with a strumpet!
  12. Our Lexus Dealership rep[laces both fob batteries on request on the annual service.😊 It may be wasteful, (?) but I'm never without a working fob.
  13. Graham, As a matter of interest - - how much are tracker subs? (I assume they're an annual rental/service figure). I've not a tracker fitted, but am considering it....... Thanks
  14. Hi Armitage, and welcome to the forum. There are some on this forum whom are greater battery experts than I, but I don't think you'll experience any problems whatsoever. Two things to check - - IF the vehicle has been serviced by a Lexus dealership, it will have received an annual hybrid battery check by their engineers, and will have a certificate to that effect, (and is covered by the 100,000 mile 10 year guarantee If the vehicle was serviced by a non-Lexus dealership, the owner can always have the battery checked by Lexus for a fee (£80?) However, it bears saying that Lexus batteries are extremely reliable.
  15. Agreed, although I've found that a cheap roll of lining paper (aka wallpaper) is a little more durable, less likely to tear, and requires only one sellotaped join.
  16. Hi Barney, I looked for one when we bought our RX a few years back, but never did find a carpet, and bought a rubber liner. Since then I bought one of the thin hard-wearing shop entrance type mats, and cut to shape. (they don't fray and don't require edging.)
  17. That's Ace news! Well done squire (and appreciate the update!)
  18. Hi Tom, As you'll note, I've not an IS300H, so will hesitate to give you specific advice on your model - though others will certainly appear soon with advice on your model. However, you have proved to yourself that the small 12v battery on the car is not designed for/capable of running lights/radio and accessories for long without the car running. The purpose of this battery is to run the ECU, and the elements such as alarms/locks when the car isn't running. Now, you've effectively completely drained the battery, which will have effectively reduced its capability to recover slightly, (as with most batteries), but providing the unit was in reasonable condition beforehand, I would not worry. It obviously needs a complete recharge, and rather than a 300-mile round trip (which would recharge the battery effectively without stopping at the dealership!) I'd get myself a good battery charger, and recharge it myself. Having managed to do something similar when we bought our Lexus, I bought a jump starter from Amazon (delivered the following day 🙂 ) and found it invaluable https://www.amazon.co.uk/NOCO-GB40-UltraSafe-Lithium-Starter/dp/B015TKUPIC/ref=sr_1_11_sspa?crid=1YMCM7YZQYLD&keywords=noco+genius+battery+charger&qid=1680087053&quartzVehicle=29-10519&replacementKeywords=noco+genius+battery&sprefix=genius+battery%2Caps%2C224&sr=8-11-spons&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9tdGY&psc= And it has been incredibly useful starting neighbours cars too! Now, with reference to the offer on services/MOT etc, you'll find that the dealer has most likely quoted you the standard Lexus off, of two years servicing, (1 major, 1 minor), MOT's and breakdown cover, but all at today's prices, (so no account of inflation for the period). Whether or not you avail yourself of the offer is your choice, of course, but I do, (as do many on the forum), as having the Dealership service the car continues the Relax warranty on the vehicle (up 10 years and 100k miles (or is it 150k miles - I'm not sure?), and the service also includes a full check and report on your Hybrid Battery, which I find useful.
  19. Welcome to the forum, Philip. It's a cracking collection of folk, helpful, amusing, and incredibly informative. I joined 3+ years ago when we bought our RX450, and joined so I could learn how to repair/run etc, the car. The trouble is - - It's not missed a beat yet - so haven't needed to seek help! 😄. Great place to learn from others, though!
