  1. If this works out as it's currently heading to, then I won't have a declarable claim to put in my renewal surely. Obviously, Axa will know. If they want to use it as an excuse to put up my premium, I'll go elsewhere. Do I need to declare a non-fault accident? Yes. You need to declare all accidents that you’re involved in, regardless of who or what was at fault. Almost every insurance company will have a clause in their policy requiring you to declare any incidents you’ve been involved in while driving in the past five years. If you don’t report something and your insurance provider finds out about it later, they could consider this 'non-disclosure', which could invalidate your policy. They told me they recover the costs from the other parts and my insurance won't be affected. I have no reason to doubt them. Does declaring a non-fault claim affect my insurance? Yes, unfortunately, it will be recorded on your claims history. In many cases, your premiums will go up after you’ve declared a non-fault claim. This is because your insurance provider will view you as a higher risk in future, even if it wasn’t your fault.
  2. Directly, his insurance will go up. So will yours, no fault claim or not. You are now seen as more likely to have a claim. The CMC has increased that cost to all. Cause and effect. The CMC is adding value in my opinion worth (the other insurer) paying for... You do understand that these costs do not come the the other party alone? They are spread across all policy holders by increased premiums. Your insurance company is also facing these costs and you are paying for them. As I said, I am really pleased it worked out for you.
  3. Which you, me and every other driver will pay for the next time we renew. I am glad it all worked out for you, but do not kid yourself, you will pay for it somewhere. Hard to complain about rising costs if you are part of the problem.
  4. And your prices will go up along with the rest of us. Claims management companies make money from inflating the costs of claims, bringing in extra new costs, charging excessive prices for the services provided. Where do you think that money comes from? It does not matter which insurance company pays out, or who is at fault, the insurance company will get the money back by charging us all more. What do you think the price rises of the last two years have been about? Claim management companies are a large part of the problem. Glad the car has been sorted.
  5. Then onto all our insurance bills. It is costs like this causing insurance companies to raise rates, we all suffer.
  6. It almost as if LV want to get out of the insurance business! Amazing advert.
  7. Same price as at my local Tesco. Which is busy pretty much all day and you usually have a wait to fill up.
  8. Which I have done, now Tesco have become the best price in my area, they get my business and I get club card points as well, bonus! The Asda station was always busy, now usually empty.
  9. The brothers that purchased Asda, raised the price of fuel at the forecourts to collect cash to pay for the purchase of the company. Asda went from being competitive on fuel to being a high cost provider. Excess profit made at the cost of society developing and causing damage is wrong and should be controlled. Fair profit okay, but as we know many organisations seem unable to control themselves and act in a civic minded manner.
  10. Sorry to hear that, hope you are ok. I would get it checked.
  11. Depends upon your budget, go for the best spec and age you can afford. The last updated model was 2018 onwards, these are pretty good at F Sport or Takumi spec. Go for the premium nav system (10" screen) Tech Pack and Convivence pack.
  12. But not the CT200h. Not affected by the Can Bus issue. Refusing to insure all Lexus cars is just lazy underwriting. Julie, check the comparison sites, plenty of insurers happy to quote on the CT200h
  13. You are at the max for battery life. 15 years or 150k miles is pretty guaranteed, after this point you should consider the cost of replacement hybrid battery. Could be absolutely fine.
  14. Pretty sure, but hey you clearly know more than me about my own cars! Perhaps your view is not the only one in world, you are of course welcome to your opinion.
  15. I have both the CT and the Yaris, never noticed any issues with the CT, very smooth drive not harsh at all. No problems with the interior trim. So no we do not all know. The Yaris is a much harsher ride and rattle's much more. Clearly not built better than the CT. Good car but not a patch on the CT.
  16. I suspect LV are withdrawing from the Hybrid market.
  17. Agree. The CT is not affected by Can bus issue. More of an LV issue I feel, many comments on the Toyota forum about LV not wanting to renew insurance on Hybrids. Marketing/underwriting decisions it would seem.
  18. Just renewed CT, all quotes up from £440 last year to around £650. Settled with current insurer for £670, because they did not want to increase the Excess to £250+. Still only £100 excess. Have noticed all new quotes have raised excesses considerably. Starlet went from £250 to £300, but interestedly current insurer did not want to renew this year. No problem finding other quotes. ??
  19. My key fobs slide open-remove key and slide cover toward the top of the fob. Hopefully yours is the same.
  20. There is no kick down on a Lexus or Toyota CVT. Pressing the pedal hard, signals a requirement for more power which the drives, ICE and battery supply immediately. Slamming your foot down does not automatically produce greater speed on a CVT, Slower but clear pressure on the pedal will. That's how it works.
  21. Like retire and enjoy the hundreds of millions of pounds they have already. Will another few millions improve the rest of their lives to any measurable degree?
  22. I think it was the cycle stored on the back of the car that caused the fire. 😳
