  1. You won't be disappointed with the clear ones, they look a lot nicer on the car. I went to clear because I had to replace the old ones due to one of them leaking, so thought that would be a good opportunity. A simple, but effective change. Thanks! Your wheels look in a lot better condition than mine though. Apart from one of mine they seem to have been neglected during its life.
  2. I believe they will, but the following thread will help and has part numbers: http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/ind...showtopic=14955 I fitted clear ones to mine and they look much better: http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/ind...ID=1747&CID=201
  3. The GS430 I saw was silver (with black interior) and it looked much nicer than the gold one.
  4. Swindon have got a GS430 out the back. The lip spoiler on the rear and the 18" wheels make the car look much better, but the wheels still look small. The front grille remains the same as the other models. It has a wood sterring wheel. All in all it looked much better than the base models and a more complete car, with more power and technology to go with it.
  5. Although effectivley you still have to get from A to B this isn't as linear as the the other two and feels more free roaming. There are different paths to reach an objective and you now have Secondary and Opportunity Objectives throughout the levels that you can choose to do or not. These add to exploring the levels and using Sam's new abilities and gadgets to get the job done. You get a mission success rating at the end of each level highlighting what objectives you completed, how many enemies you knocked out, killed and injured, how many times you were identified and how many alarms you set off. So far it keeps getting better with every new mission.
  6. I have it on the Xbox and haven't taken it on Live yet. The graphics are incredible. The music is different, but the cues could be better and maybe not fade in and out so sudden. The rag doll effects are a vast improvement. The new moves and interactions are brilliant. It feels like an entirely new game and you can see the evolution from the previous two. There are so many details in this game that add to the atmosphere and immersion and, in my opinion, make it by far the best in the series. A few I like are when you walk by people Sam moves his head to look at them, when you walk back from an enemy he actually steps backwards rather then turning around and as you get closer to people Sam's pose changes and he reaches for his knife ready for if you grab them (he always holds the knife to their throat when you grab people). The enemy A.I. is definitely the most intelligent yet, but still has some flaws. The game gets better and better as the levels go on.
  7. My Dad and I did them both yesterday and my Uncle came to help too. It failed on the offside, but the nearside didn't have much life left in it either. One of the offside bolts caused us some problems and the nearside upper castle nut (with the R clip) rounded off, so that delayed things too. I'd say it took us 4-5 hours including stopping for lunch, tea etc.
  8. He has now sourced one, but thanks for the help.
  9. I used EBC Greenstuff on a previous car and upgraded the discs at the same time and I would do the same if I put them on the Lexus because they'll wear standard discs much quicker than standard pads. EBC list two types of pads for the front of the GS and I found out that it's because two types of calliper were used during the term of the Series I GSs. I had to print the pad images from EBC's web site and take one of mine out to see which type I had, but I have stayed with the standard pads and discs for now. Rodders_UK, My Dad had to get new pads for his GS and as far as I know he got Mintex too and is very pleased with them.
  10. I know this is a Lexus forum, but I thought this was kind of related, being Toyota, and I'm trying to help a friend. He needs a front nearside fog light for a 1993 L UK MR2. Toyota have quoted around £96 plus VAT for the part, so we're trying to find one cheaper. His are the clear lense type and import fog lights usually have the yellow filter and an extra connection that appears to be for some steering feature. We've tried a few online salvage companies to no avail. Does anyone know if the fog light is the same as other model Toyotas/Lexus, I know cars sometimes share parts (my GS side repeaters are the same as an MR2)? Or does anyone know where we can get one or have one they don't want?
  11. D'oh! Still, does anyone know if any additional parts need replacing while these are being done, i.e. bushes etc, so I can get those before the work is started?
  12. I now have the ball joints, but wondered if any additional parts needed replacing while these are being done, i.e. bushes etc?
  13. Good work with the pictures! Black is definitely better than the gold colour and the one in Swindon had black interior, so almost a reverse of that black one.
  14. Thanks for the information. Lexus quoted me £42.16 plus VAT for each ball joint and said they would qualify for 10% LOC parts discount, so it would be just as easy to order them from there if needs be.
  15. Swindon had one delivered this week and put it in the showroom yesterday. It's the gold/champagne colour and I think it was the basic spec. It looks smaller than I thought compared to the pictures. The leather seats were nice and soft. The heated seat controls, Power mode and TRC switches are under the centre console, when you lift the catch you can slide it back a little to reveal them and then you can lift the catch further to open the two tiered storage.
  16. My Series I went in for a service and MOT today and it failed on excessive play in the front offside lower arm ball joint. Lexus said these need to be changed in pairs and it will cost £362.28 all inclusive (I didn't ask about discount). They said the wheels would then need aligning, more money. This couldn't have come at a worse time. I recently had four new tyres and a full wheel alignment on Monday 21 March, so what a waste of time that was. If I'd have known I wouldn't have bothered with the alignment as it will have to be done again anyway. I may as well have thrown that £70 away. Similar to this: http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/ind...c=10381&hl=ball I need help. Can the ball joints be done ourselves, if so can anyone offer any tech advise, links on how to do it etc? Am I able to buy the front lower arm ball joints cheaper elsewhere? Eitherway can someone tell me the part numbers for the ball joints and whatever else needs to be replaced at the same time (and part numbers for that). I hope you can help me.
  17. I took my car into Lexus Swindon for a service today and got talking about the new models and they had one Series III GS delivered this week, but they're not putting it in the showroom yet. It's the gold/champagne colour and the service people weren't sure which spec it was.
  18. My Dad wants to change the plugs himself on his 95 GS, but is in need of advice, so I said I ask the forum. He knows the throttle body needs removing, but wondered if a gasket set will be required? He wondered what type of plugs he should use or is this specified in the manual? In general what needs to come off and any hints or tips? Thanks in advance.
  19. The SC looks quality and I like that shape Range (along with the new one).
  20. Based on pictures the front lights look too much like a Hyundai Coupé for my liking, but pictures can be deceiving and I look forward to seeing one on the road.
  21. I thought that either of their speed ratings was good enough, but it's been a while since I've had to change any tyres and wanted to double check. Thanks Colin.
  22. In relation to this I have a question I thought I'd post here rather than start another tyre thread: Which tyre speed rating do I need for 8"/10" wide Sport alloys on a Series I GS Sport, do they have to be specifically W, Y or Z or can I use any of those ratings?
