  1. Never heard about it until now.
  2. When my Series I was serviced last year I had the air con recharged and was going to have the filter replaced too, but when Lexus Swindon checked they said there is no filter in the Series I. I don't know if these threads are any use: Cabin Air Filters Cabin Air Filter Pt.2
  3. I don't know if this is any use: http://www.lexus.co.uk/approved.php?area=g...l=gs300sportmk1
  4. I got my 1996 GS Sport in June and it was serviced in July and Lexus replaced my remote's battery, but recently mine's not been working all the time. It's only on opening it, I've gone to my car a number of times in the last month and pressed the open button to have nothing happen, then after a couple of minutes and numerous presses it opens. It's very annoying when you're away from home, and I have the Toyota alarm that has a seprate remote, so opening/closing with the key doesn't deactivate/activate the alarm like the previous system with the integrated button on the key. I've not been to Lexus yet.
  5. Swindon Lexus don't put the Series I on their forecourt anymore as they are too old, they pass/sell them on to independant garages and I guess sell to order too. I saw a dark green sport with 8.5" wheels all round, FSH and 69,000 miles for £5,350 in Autotrader.
  6. "Come on, can I get a Wu-Tang?" R.I.P. O.D.B.
  7. You might want to check this out, it's one minute long and looks sweet: http://download.microsoft.com/download/2/9...bps_640x480.wmv
  8. I've had the Limited Collector's Edition on pre-order with Amazon for a while (£34.99).
  9. I've always liked the Series I Sport and thought the Series II looked too much like a Merc when it came out (the front four headlights), but over time the Series II has grown on me and I think the Sport is really nice, particularly in black or blue. If I stay with the Lexus brand and can afford it I'm thinking of going from my black Series I Sport to a black Series II Sport, despite the rear end which I'm not keen on.
  10. Their rear windows were more saloon style than hatchback though. :winky: I must admit I missed my rear wiper after having it on the last two cars, but I've got used to it now though.
  11. I once owned a '92 Rover 220 Coupé and that had a rear wiper that wiped constant for eight seconds and then went intermittent and my '89 300ZX (Z31) also had a rear wiper, but this one was just constant. I think they're invaluable as I like to have the best vision possible out of my windows, particularly when it's raining, even just one wipe every now and then helps.
  12. I've always dreaded tyre changes and to be honest anything that involves someone I don't know working on any of the cars I've owned.
  13. He's sorted it. If you take the rear brake discs off, the parking brake shoes and adjuster are behind them.
  14. The parking brake on his '94 GS doesn't work very well, even when the pedal is fully depressed it doesn't hold the car. Despite my Dad's knowledge of cars he can't work it out. Can it be adjusted? If so, how?
  15. We took the caliper off and gave everything a good clean and copper greased the back of the pads and there is still some squeaking, but it's not as bad as before. There is plenty of pad left. I guess I'll have to live with it.
  16. My Dad has changed his rear brake bulbs despite them working and one of them looked a little burnt, but still the light comes on, this time only when he brakes hard.
  17. That's one of the things my Dad thought, but we checked them and they worked (his GS doesn't have a high level brake light).
  18. The same light has started to come on in My Dad's GS, but he's not getting any vibration problems. Everything checks out fine, but he hasn't had chance to check the pads yet. I can't remember what it says in the owner's manual about this light. I'll post it when I can check the manual again, unless someone beats me to it.
  19. I noticed the middle part of the rev niddle flickering on my Dad's '94 GS recently too.
