  1. Where's mine or is it only 'Gold Memebers' who get the Christmas Card
  2. 200 GBP wouldn't be to bad, they are asking for a hell of alot more, I suppose I should be gratefull they have been up front with the information.
  3. I am trying to arrange a test drive with my local dealer who shall remain nameless for the moment, I have requested a 24 hour test drive and they do not have problem this request and are willing to supply me with car the only thing is the Insurance, They want to charge me exccess (large sum of money) in case of any damage, is this right, Any reponse would be most helpful. When I have had this type of Test drive before this has never been an issue,
  4. I am assuming that the above statement to be an offical denial which means is must be true Only joking. Best Regards Risky
  5. kernow Where did you import from.??
  6. I know where your coming from, it's difficult knowing what's going on but can't share the information, after seeing the write up in Auto Express, it will see the light of day but not sure about the Auto version I think that's a red herring. don't see the point of strapping over 300 bhp to an Auto Transmission. Not unless it's an 'ASM' Transmission. Best Regards Risky
  7. Sorry Risky - are you saying that Lexus don't make an IS300 for the UK market? If that's the case then what the hell have I paid out nearly £30k for To put the record straight, I was only referring to the manual version, not sure why your confused as I was answering an emmison thread that refered to the IS300 not having the option of Manual Transmission Administrator No worries, I don't own either IS200 or IS300 at the moment, It's just I work in Engine/Powertrain development for sometime now Best Regards Risky :D :D :D
  8. Administrator, How do you know the IS300 does not meet emissions Lexus don't make one for the UK Market and I think I'm right in saying you can't buy either in main land Europe or the USA. I think you'll find, the reason why there is not Manual Version of the IS300 is due to Marketing, nothing to do with Emissions. You would be shocked at some of the decsions Motor Manufactures make based Marketing advice. Also BIM that the IS300 is marketed as relaxing curiser not sports missile.
  9. Not sure about the above comment, in my experience it's much harder to achieve the required emissions with auto than manual because of the increased friction when starting from cold. Increased fuel means higher CO and Nox. Anyway the most critical component are the catalyst substrates and the amount of precious metal that's used and the formulation of the coating.
  10. The plot thickens, The saying 'There's No smoke without fire' Springs to mind B) B) B) B)
  11. I won't bother using the quotes. In my last thread I never mention the Armed Forces only the fire service, as far as I am concerned they will do an excellent job even with the sub standard equipment they will be using. As I said before don't believe everything you read in the newspapers and see reported on the TV news as they cut and splice the film to suit their own ends. At the end of the day the only reason why the Fire service is on strike is because of Tony 'Lovie' Bair's policies and the sooner he and the rest of his cronies are removed from power the better it will be for everyone. If you remember the last time the Fire Service striked was the last time labour were in power, could there be a connection???? For the record I hope the Fire Service don't strike for 8 Days Best Regards Risky.
  12. SuperchargedIS200, I am not doubting your word as you are much closer to what's happening with your contacts at TTE, But there's something not quite right with that car 'Mule' or Strutural Prototype. Because Lexus have started pushing the IS200 with increased marketing incentives and that usally only means one thing, 'Get rid of old stock' because they about to launch a new or revised model that will kill the appeal of the current model. Just my GUT feeling............ Best Regards Risky
  13. If that's a real pic of the replacement IS200, then someone at Lexus is now out of job. Still, seems to have fooled a lot of people. The only real one is the one in the disguise kit, still not convinced it not the IS430 though Best Regards Risky
  14. AP also killed the Ford Probe, not that it needed much help Best Regards Risky
  15. Sounds like a good idea to me, count me in Best Regards Risky
  16. Looks like they are not many fireman who own a Lexus and are members of the owners club shame that, would be nice to get a opinion from someone on receiving end. Must have something do with the money they earn. 20k All the quotes here are based on bias news reports in the media, the only thing that's true in every daily newspaper is the date and as for the TV, talk about over hype. The firemen/women deserve every penny they get and if they get anywhere near the 40% then good luck to them. Best Regards Risky
  17. kingy, This might sound a silly question, is you body longer than your legs?? If this is the case then you have the same problem as Me, I'm 6ft 2in and stuggle to fit comfortably in most cars because having shorter legs means you have to sit closer to the steering wheel and further upright which restricts your head room. I'm OK in Cars without sunroof's It's a shame lexus don't offer the SE and Sport without the sunroof, you lose around 50mm of headroom because of the sunroof and you have to ask the question why have full electronic climite control and a sun roof Best Regards Risky
  18. After Tonight's Top Gear, the Lexus re-sale value has fallen through the floor, lets hope no one watches the new Alan Partridge series.
  19. Does this include the IS430 that was photographed at the Nürburgring ring in Septemeber, complete with disguise kit and revised muffler system and revised front and rear fenders. Link is below http://www.sportscartesting.com/news/lexus...s/id438/pg1827# seems a bit of waste to carry-out all that development work and then 'can it', sounds like another company I know.
  20. Just remember when you leave the Channel Tunnel follow sign post E40, this road takes you striaght into Belgium and beyond, remember speed limit is 130 kph not mph. Your route to Belguim is M25 M20 E40, it only take 30 mins from the tunnell to the Belgium border.
  21. My information is, the 'IS' replacement, either facelift or all new is not due until 2005, looking at all the information that's around at the moment, it's my guess the is430 will be launched later next year in a limited edition run.
  22. Found this link earlier this evening, view the pic's and video Some of the files are on the lare size, those of you using standard 56k you'll have to be patient. http://www.monsterhorsepower.com/TTE/ PS The plot thickens
  23.:tumble::tumble::lol: Very old photo's see what it's really going to look like, take note of the fender changes and the revise exit of the tail pipes. http://pc99.detnews.com/autosinsider/sneak...ex.hbs?myrec=46
