  1. Look at this link as well My opion still has not changed, http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/ind...f=63&t=1586&hl= Unique Engine Cal required. :hocus-pokus: :hocus-pokus:
  2. Very nice, what body kit did you have fitted??
  3. I wouldn't bother reporting anything to ebay, The only thing you can do is email the bidders via ebay warning them of the possibility of the car not being all it seems. I was recently ripped off by a seller, ebay were not interested. After reading there BB rules it would appear that everything is set up to protect the rip-off sellers and no protection for buyers who are ripped off. I named the guy who ripped me off in thread and the thread was removed and ebay sent me a email saying I wasn't allowed to name sellers that were ripping buyers off. Looking at the guys feedback, he only has 1 neg feed back and guess what for, miss-representation.
  4. Loz, I might be a little nosey, can you enlighten me on Project Pu400, what is it
  5. Looks nice, shame about the headlights and what that they've used for door handle.
  6. Use this link http://uk.altavista.com/babelfish then cut and paste this link http://www.toyota.co.jp/index.html Select Japanese to English and Hey-Presto, it's transalated.
  7. Interesting thought, IS430 Auto for 38K+, it's crying shame, because if it true, straping all that extra power to Auto, seems a waste to me, who knows LEXUS marketing might wake up before it's to late and offer a Manual version.
  8. That's the funnest link I've read in ages, if anybody buys the 'Chip' they will end up a whole heap of trouble. The thing I find amusing is that these people quote these power increase, they never show the power and troque curves before and after to show where the increase is made.
  9. When you've driven a car with them fitted, you never want to use a normal mirror again. At night is when you really benifit from them
  10. Loz, I hope everything works out OK, sounds very familar though, Try keeping the mind the busy, I been told it helps, it is difficult though.
  11. Does this happen from a cold engine or hot engine.
  12. Just another day driving round the M25 in the rush hour
  13. Thanks guys, it gonna take awhile to recover after writing it, I'm supposed to be on brain 'shut down' until I return to work next Thursday. As for the 'Hat' not fitting your right. I've had the pleasure of seeing and being involved in some very good programs only for someone with not enough vision to 'CAN' the program.
  14. Lexus is all about brand image (Premium Car Manufacture) and low volume cars. Hatchbacks are high volume cheap cars for the masses(UK Only Comment) . If they were to introduce a Hatchback version this type a car would not help with their brand image, look at the baby 3 series, a cheap and nasty version of the 3 series. and it's seen as the 'Poor Man or Woman' BMW. You also have to ask yourself why introduce this type of car when you already have cars in this range with 'Toyota' Avensis. They would introduction car that directly competes with one of it's own, not a good idea as Volkswagan are now finding out with Seat and Skoda, the paying public soon wake up to fact they are paying a premium money for VW but can get the same but cheaper with either a Seat or Skoda Badge. The only way it would work for Lexus, if they were to introduce a Hatchback version then it would need to offer something different, ie supercharged or turbo charged engined, very low and a out and out little racer and of course call it a 'Coupe'. One other thing to BIM is look at the 'X' type Jaguar, launched with 3.0 and 2.5 ltr engines 4 wheel drive, production was sold out, then they introduced the 2.0 Version FWD, this one varient killed the 'X' type sales overnite, Jaguar buyers don't want FWD if they did they wouldn't buy a Jaguar. Just and example of a car manufacture changing direction and getting it wrong. This is only my opinon and I don't doubt for a minute someone will come up with a another good reason why Lexus should introduce a Hatchback version. That's what this forum is all about Happy New Year.
  15. Sounds like the 'Vanilla Ice Cream' fault to me or it could be something is damp and causeing a 'short' and when it's dried out (short drive, warm engine) the fault disapears.
  16. The next thing will be FWD. A Lexus hatchback I don't think so. Sounds like a wind-up
  17. Do you have any more info on the 'Luxury Pack' as nothing is list on Lexus web site.
  18. I called Lexus customer care line yesterday. I was advised to get the dealer to swap out the clutch, flywheel and flywheel cover. When I told them I had all the work done already he went quiet and said there was nothing else I could do! I am going to visit either the Swindon or Reading dealer this coming weekend to see what they say about it. Has anyone had any experience of either of these dealers? Strange reply from customer services, I suggest you take the car back, ask the dealer for the use of other car until they have fixed the problem. This might sound stupid question. 'The dealer techs have checked all the engine, transmission mounts, prop for alinement etc' This should have been the first thing they checked.
  19. Driving at 30 mph for 2 hours will have no effect on the workings of the car only your fuel economy, Sounds like to me that a bit a moisture has got in somewhere and frozen, The reason why everything was OK after you stop at services for 30 mins, 'Hot engine soak' could have dried out the area that was giving the problem, resume driving OK, after parking the car over night heat soak long gone, any moisture will freeze and possibly causeing the problem, I am assuming Over night temp well below freezeing. Just a thought
  20. I think you have answered your own question, Think about it, The handling was OK until you changed your tyres Now ask yourself, What's changed with the Car. 'Tyres' what has an effect on the ride and handleing 'Tyres', I've Never heard of the tyres you mention, but think about it no tyre manufacture can supply orginal production tyres because of the cost, they will only supply tyres that are suitable for a number of makes of cars so there has to trade off, Road Noise, Handling etc These new tryes may have a softer side wall compond which will affect your corning 'handling' I suggest you swap the rears with fronts and then see if this have affect, got to be worth a try.
  21. If your pulling away at less than 1000 rpm then I would expect some judder(Clutch Control Dependant), have you tried to increase the engine to 1500/1800 rpm this would be more acceptable pull away speed. If you have tried this what was the out come. I know there are times when less engine speed is required for gentle pull away's ie Traffic/Parking, low engine speed clutch/transmission egagement require slightly more clutch slip to prevent judder and you should be able to pull away at idle speed without judder/vibration, this requires very good clutch slip (holding at the bite point) and gentle throttle control to keep engine speed constant as the clutch engages the transmission. This is much easier on FWD cars because of the shorter driveline. Please think about the following Weight of vehicle 1380 kgs plus your body weight and any additional passengers Engine Power at 1000 rpm lesss than 50 bhp Torque approx 148 nm your basicly trying to pull away a heavy vehicle at the bottom of the power/torque curve's and it doesn't like it so you will get vibration/clutch judder (if you don't have good clutch control) and if the dealer has fitted a new clutch on an old flywheel then you may not have 100% contact area between the clutch plate and flywheel this will improve over time as the new clutch plate 'BEDS' into the old flywheel.
  22. This needs to more widely know, most of the mobile speed camera are out of calibration and they need to be re-calibrated at least once every six months
