  1. when the car starts to move backwards when you engage the clutch. :winky: They use a common 'GEMS' module that's used on other Toyota Japan models were it's a legal requirement to have an continious bleep when reverse is selected. Nothing to do with a six speed gear box.
  2. New Toyota that currently being launched in the good old USA. it was in last week auto express
  3. Point of Law The police are there to uphold the not break it, No emergency service is allowed to break the speed limit, drive on the wrong side of road, jump red light's etc etc We all know they do it, if they didn't they would never get to where they going.
  4. Mine is a June 03, and the gear box is the worst I have ever driven, I have had quite a few discussions with my dealer, test driven a few IS's they had New and used, no better than mine, after a long discussion and checking that my G/B had all the latest design changes and fixes, there commet was there nothing else they can do, you will have to talk to customer services, to date I haven't done this because I am so :tsktsk: off with the car and Lexus I might just sell the car and get something a bit more reliable.
  5. My thoughts since the second day of owning mine, I still can't believe they are No1 all I can put it down to is pride and not telling the truth when answering the questions set out in all the motoring surveys.
  6. That's good one I don't think so, not unless they moved the steering rack as well, best thing to do in found someone there who knows something about the mechanics of a motor vehicle, the dipstick you have spoken to clearly doesn't have clue. Well you may laugh .... My steering was spot on central ... Had tyres changed (nothing else) and then steering was off centre. Only lasted for a while and gradually reverted to being central again. Maybe due to tyres 'bedding in' or suspension extended while wheels off ? Come to think of it, couple of problems i've fixed for people. Cars pulling one way or another for no obvious reason.. Swap the tyres about and all then ok... weird :) So, don't be too hasty to pick holes - odd things happen I have spent many years repairing suspensions, changing around wheels, tyres etc and after proper road test, which is not just quick drive up the road, I never had one where the steering has been off centre and I would never give a car back to customer with a steering wheel off centre not unless I wanted to :tsktsk: him off another example of :tsktsk: poor workmanship from the so called Number 1.

  12. if your talking about this one fitted in my car, June 2003 IS200 Sport MANUAL The dealer wants shooting for talking such crap, if your willing to pay 650 I'll supply and fit one for 600, it takes about an hour and that will nearly 400 pound profit for me
  13. Looks like things have changed, I was with Vodaphone when the calls started and they did not want know, I have joined another network and they have been very helpful up to a point, they checked all the dates and times I had recieved the calls and they confirmed it was the same number and what network they were coming from, when I asked for number they refused. Have you contacted your mobile supplier and advised them that you are getting these calls? they used to do number changes free of charge. Yes that's right, why should I do this I've done nothing wrong and in the end they have won. I can't let that happen because they have done wrong and the law is protecting them this is another example of this country rules and laws which were set up by liberials to protect guilty not the innocent
  14. Hi, Here lies my problem, I think I know the person who is making the calls and last thing I want is Mr Plod turning up on there door step, if I can confirm it's the person I know, it will all stop with one text message, it will be all over because the eliment of suprise will my mine. Just encase your thinking hello something dodgey going on here, you won't see a headline 'Man in Black Lexus Goes Mad' I like my freedom and IS200 to much to give it all up. Thanks again guys for your help.
  15. Thank you for the information Jonathan, I will give them a call tomorrow and ask there advice, just hope I don't have to go to there offices as none of their offices are local to me, with a bit of luck it can all be handled by phone, post and email.
  16. Mobile Tecommuication ref Nuisance calls by users with holding their phone number, there was a change in the ACT that came into effect late last year, The change effected how Land line/mobilephone companies handle withheld number information. I need a solicitor who knows about the ACT who can assist me in making my mobile phone operator give me the information on the user. It's all down to in legal jargen and a play with words and I'm not clever enough to take on a big mobile phone operator on my own. The real :tsktsk: take is that I'm paying for some of calls when I'm working overseas and I don't appreciate being woken up at 3.30am in morning,
