  1. Don't mention the war.I mentioned it once and I think I got away with it.....
  2. I think you'll find that the trim is"vegan Tahara" which has never been near a cow.
  3. If it has been sitting idle for about 2 months, could mice have moved into the engine bay and nibbled the wiring? Apparently they often go for the air filter.
  4. I've had a 2020 RC 300h for just over 2 years now.My mpg doing local short journeys ranges between 38-43 , depending on weather/temperature. Last April,I drove from Hampshire in Southern England to Donegal/Fermanagh and averaged about 45 mpg, driving right on or around the speed limits all the way. The car is extremely comfortable, quiet and relaxing to drive...but it's no Porsche but again,no Porsche size bills. It just wafts around with completely adequate performance.Legroom and to a certain extent, headroom, are pretty limited in the rear. In summary,I've owned much faster cars, better handling cars but none of them approach the RC for both a relaxed drive and ownership experience. If you can stretch to it ,go for a facelift 2020 on F sport with Takumi pack.
  5. Lexus Hedge End do the 15% discount and are very efficient. Whilst I was there,I went into the nearest Halfords for a Noco starter pack and was not able to get the LOC discount.Apparantley it was because the item was for sale at a discounted price.
  6. Use the volume button on the Mark Levinson. I found the brand new ES f sport I had as a loan car while mine was in for a service to be pretty quiet while cruising on the motorway. However, plastic seats on a car at this level... unbelievable. They could at least have used fabric,or more appropriately, leather.
  7. In my case, Lexus and Motorola kept blaming each other. The only solution was AAWireless, which has worked perfectly and seamlessly since.Glad you managed to resolve the problem....despite no help.
  8. This reminds me of a new company car that was delivered to my home in 2003.It arrived late Friday afternoon on a low loader so was left on the drive overnight. As I wanted to wash our own car,my wife took the new co. car down the lane to the village to get some shopping. On the return journey (about 2 miles each way),she hit a pothole which not only burst the tyre, but buckled the alloy wheel. The lease company were not impressed at having to replace a wheel and tyre with only about 3 miles on the clock.
  9. Excellent choice.I was gearing up to buy one but had my head turned by the RC. You should go to Motorlux Mazda in Newbury...sales contact Dave Beard. Used them for service for 10 years and sold back both my Mazdas to them.
  10. Seeing Lexus' IT expertise on less important things like the Link App,can you imagine the balls up they could make on a project like this,......
  11. A general suggestion to those approaching retirement and considering downsizing ---- leave it for 3- 6 months AFTER retirement and see how your car needs change after finishing work.In the majority of cases, downsizing will probably make sense, but it will be expensive to make a mistake by jumping the gun and needing to upsize afterwards.
  12. Waze or Google maps don't seem to use much data..unless you need to run it all day, every day..I've done a few 10 HR. drives without making much of a dent
  13. .......or get a trickle charger.. you'll only have to hobble out once to connect it.It can then be used on an ongoing basis to ensure the 12v battery is fully charged.
  14. I have also yesterday had major service and MOT done at Hedge End.Again,an(almost) clean sheet, apart f from rear wheel alignment..the inner edges of the 2 rear tyres on my RC were completely shredded and bald.Without lying flat on the ground, you can't easily see the inner edge....otherwise It'd have picked it up sooner.Otherwise the 2 rear tyres had a good 6mm tread. The service from Hedge End was again First Class.
  15. It's a well known fact that BMW 3 series cars(especially from the 1980's) had a propensity to throw themselves into the nearest ditch,or tree.Hence "tree series".
  16. Why don't you follow the advice you were given a few weeks ago and get an AAWireless dongle....it does what it's called.
  17. Sad news just announced on BBC news, the death of Steve Wright at the age of 69.
  18. Or...get a front facing camera fitted.Cargoplay on Amazon sell a wireless one which you can fix to the front number plate holder. It has an optional small solar panel to top up its charge. The monitor (about the size of a tom tom satnav) does need a 12v supply from cig. lighter socket.I usually leave it in the armrest and prop it temporarily on the centre console when in use.
  19. Shame the 500 doesn't have an opening sunroof. You could get a hoist installed over the driver's seat to winch you in and out without using the doors.(or buy the convertible.
  20. Are any of your children missing? They might be locked in the boot.
