  1. That's the bad bit - they are only picked up by GPS locators and not radar detectors as they do not emit a signal. I swapped from a Bel 850 to a RoadAngel for this reason.
  2. July 2005 - Present Leicestershire Safety Camera Partnership Details: M1, J20-21 Temporary Automatic Speed Cameras at Roadworks (TASCAR) + 'Average Speed Check' Signs
  3. They look like Yellow Vultures....seriously they are on r shaped poles on left hand side of motorway and are forward facing cameras - they have a central lense and two side pods that makes them look like birds. They time you between 2 points 1 mile apart.
  4. Ooops. Leicester it must be. I was too busy keeping to 40 to note their true position :)
  5. This may be old news to some but in the roadworks on M1 (north and south) near Nottingham they have digital SPECS cams that time your average speed over a mile. The limit is 40 be careful!
  6. Sounds very similar to a prob I had on a BMW 3 series - loose lower steering coupling. Only ever happened when I turned left at low speed and ran over speed bump/raised curb etc. Good luck! :)
  7. Hi, The good news is that it is possible. Assuming you have a record player (if not you will need a deck and amp with jack sockets) you can buy mp3 recorders that will record from an analogue source and convert to digital. I have an old one called Archos MultiMedia Jukebox that will take jack sockets from record deck and record output to MP3. You can also convert VHS to MPEG etc. Not sure if Archos still make it but but you should be able to pick one up on EBAY or check out www.archos.com I have used this method to get some of my dad's old jazz records into mp3 format. It should then be easy to convert from mp3 to Itunes format (AAC???)
  8. Put my LS in for yet more seat repairs (any other LS owners have rattly or loose drivers seats??) and Bracknell very kindly gave me an 05 GS430 to tootle around in :D Initial thoughts - - Very quiet - not quite LS but very close and certainly quieter than Merc/BMW/Audi - very fast especially 30-70 - toy heaven!!! integrated bluetooth, swivelly headlamps, reversing camera etc - build quality is astonishing as is attention to detail - the damping action on glovebox and ashtray is a joy to see!! - sporty handling - comfortable but very chuckable. Only minor complaint is ride can be a bit "pattery" at low speeds on rippled roads but maybe that's just me used to the LS and its soft ride. - I think it looks very nice and a friend commented it looked "very solid like an Audi". Overall a very impressive car and definitely on my shopping list for next time.
  9. just listening to Ken Livingston - I must say it's a bit rich him condemning these attacks when last year he invited a madman who advocated suicide bombs against Israel to be a his guest in London!! It will also be interesting when they catch these ba**ards to see where they came from. Knowing our luck they will have been living off the state whilst their asylum application was being processed However, my heart goes out to the families of all those caught up in this madness.
  10. How can you tell an Essex girl has had an orgasm?? She drops her chips :D
  11. 9.2 was after filling up and going mental for about 15 minutes :P
  12. okay..just for fun what is the worst you have managed on the AVERAGE fuel economy?? 9.2 for me :D
  13. having a look at this just now - is that the grill area just below the windscreen wipers? Did you just spray it in with the aircon on? Ta ← I put aircon on full, making sure recirculate is off. Open Bonnet and on my LS there are a set of air intakes just below the wiper arms. Close Car doors and then give a big old squirt of the spray into these vents. Did this 4 or 5 times and all seems well now. You will know it has worked as when you get back in the car it will stink of Febreze or Dettol :)
  14. Trouble is the guy is surrounded by Yes men. It needed someone to tell him that having teenage boys sleep in his room, whether innocently or not, was the wrong thing to do.
  15. Yes this worked for me...I used Febreze anti bacterial. Also at service Lexus disinfected the system for nothing.
  16. push it - salt n pepa :winky: you shook me all night long - ac/dc Pure Platinum Fort Lauderdale and Big Daddy's in New Orleans -very classy up market clubs which is the absolute opposite of the Flying Scotsman in King's Cross
  17. To put it in context this 29.7 mpg is the best I have ever done in the LS. Previous best was 27.8mpg. Coincidence or Redex???
  18. Last week I chucked a bottle of Redex in my tank at fillup. Today did a trip from Ascot to Colchester and back (M25, A12 70-80 ish) and after 217 miles the computer said 29.7mpg :D
  19. Let's face facts that thanks to this wonderful government who strive for "an equal and fair society" that if you : - work hard - dare to be successful - play by the rules - want to get married - wait until you can afford kids - save - have a pension - have a job - buy a house then you get mugged to pay for "an equal and fair society" that rewards - scroungers - pikeys - illegal immigrants - bogus asylum seekers - criminals - chavs - idiots - teenage mothers Thank you Mr Blair
  20. and I bet the world is a safer place now because of it. 159mph by a copper is fine but your wife is obviously a menace to society in her Yaris.......
  21. Got 3 points from a mobile roadworks camera in Dudley on 23rd August 2000 so effectively the points have gone now. Was doing 67 in a 60 on an empty dual carriageway and the roadworks amounted to a few cones on the hard shoulder Went out and got a detector and have had no probs since.
  22. many congratulations....the first 25 years are the worst !!! :D
