I've driven the GS430, and I must say I was v.impressed. But im only 21, the GS's time will come with age :D Both lovely cars, especially the new GS B) but at the mo, my vote goes to the IS300!! Difficult to compare the two, GS is a softer, luxury drive I spose whilst the IS is a drive and look good car, and it pulls it off well!! My advice to you - test drive them both. More than once if unsure. If you're still undiced go for the GS, think of the IS as an old legacy and the GS is the next chapter. LS is next though!! :shutit:

The diesals would help put Lexus on company wish lists (possibly?) As for the interior, I like it. Dials can get a bit fiddly, but alot easier than small buttons!! :P

Funny that you're insurance goes up on the sport, when I was in the same position as you and looking to buy an IS200, my insurance was quoted less on the sport. I figure the limited slipp diff may make the car safer - who knows??? :duh: As for MPG, are you sure you want know?? I get about 29 mpg. But I love the car!! :P All i'd say and probably anybody else who has advice for you, watch the wheels. Suckers for corroding!! Welcome to LOC :D

I read in a recent book that being no.2 in America is not in BMWs vision. So they plan to facelift thier current models every 3-5 months to encourage higher sales and become no.1 above Lexus in the US. Sounds about right, but surely its about every 6 months they facelift their cars anyway!! Interesting book, called The Relentless Pursuit by Chester Dawson.
