  1. Cheers 4 comments guys. Yeah, kinda agree I only looked on autotrader and lexus.co.uk myself when buying - rarely exchange & mart. Although I did try fish4. Autotrader it is then ^_^
  2. lol. Welcome to LOC. Happy motoring!
  3. I think Lexus need to do better in this regard, however the guys at Viastech do great working adding these things to Lexus' with second generation and later audio systems. They just aren't interested in supporting earlier cars, hence i'm having to do it myself.... Unfortunately its a bit of a timing thing. From about when the New IS was released, a lot of standard Toyota/Lexus cars all come with AUX in, many with MP3 (e.g. new Prius, Yaris, IS). The new GS was, well, too new! lol
  4. Hey everyone, Has anyone come across or used a site called www.desperateseller.co.uk? Just wondering if its dodgey or not... Seems wayyyyyyy to cheap... Spoke to their "Livehelper" sales rep: :duh: :duh: Desperate car seller link. D.
  5. Just as a little note - the New GS does not have AUX in by default either... (not sure about the MM addition) Not MP3 capability!!!
  6. As time goes by, the laser head on any optical reader willl eventually detriorate - e.g. Playstations, Lexus IS CD player. I used to have no problems playing any of my own compiled CDs, regardless of burn speed (I hate waiting!), but about a year ago, some CDs started to fail to be read (with your ERR1 code) Another side effect is that the tracks towards the end of a CD (when the player has to spin at its fastest speed) start to skip. Sooooo, either try cleaning your CD laser head (with the standard CD lens cleaner CDs), or get a new/replacement HU. Lexus give 5 years warranty on the IS audio system - you may still be in warranty? D.
  7. Haha! Show off! It's coz U cant count!
  8. Very pretty patterns Bernard! Fantastic pictures. Wish we had regular "times of the month" ^_^ Shame I didn't have time to come along to one when I was in HK :(
  9. Nope. Solid i'm afraid. Take the seats out altogether, and you're left with metal! No access to the boot (apart from the little ski-hatch).
  10. Good to hear Paul. So when do you start? All that stuff clear/OK wrt the training/qualification thing they put U on? D. B)
  11. Shouldn't be any issues shifting into reverse... you got to "throw" your gear lever to the left fairly swiftly to get into reverse. Definately no "push down" as such. You should also get the beep-beep-beep etc. noise once in reverse... And welcome to the miserable wet UK! But the brighter and more chirpy LOC! D. :winky: B)
  12. That's what I thought... but its like them collect-a-part magazines, you cant have the ufll optimum fun until you've got all the pieces!
  13. Welcome to LOC, and lol @ Lee!
  14. So what are the official specs on one of these bad boys?
  15. Tidy B) Only 3 months old as well :) Enjoy the car! Miss any of the SE-L or MM toys though? Guess these can come under the mods list... Oh yeah, DONT MOD! lol D.
  16. 600 does sound a bit much... but I thought Manchester was generally a bit bad for car crime? Try the A-plan link at the top of this site - they've been sorting people out very well, including me! :)
  17. I agree that you gotta be able to put the power down. Slightly but did anyone watch 5th gear the other day? 0-60 in a second modded Vauxhall thing - Was this car here... a big bike im thinking?! If he passes... In fact, can he even get on a bike???
  18. Fair bit of work over the weekend! Looking good, but guess it feels a lot better! :D
  19. Welcome to LOC! I am right in saying that its illegal to mod in Ireland right? Keeps things cheaper for you if so! D.
  20. FYI My dealer in Croydon lets me supply my own engine oil. Also, when I rang around most of the South East dealers for quotes, non of them said "no, you can't supply your own engine oil". hth. D.
