  1. Well done. What are you using to switch input from sat-nav to aux-in? is it a remote or a wired in switch? Either way - look forward to hearing the full details as I'll probably be interested when the group buy comes up.
  2. Count me in for this meet too - and will be bringing my son.
  3. Maz, I had previously used Scratch X with a microfibre polishing pad applicator and had been seriously unimpressed with the results. however, recently I've been getting amazing results by changing to a foam applicator pad (the sonus 3 colour one). Maybe try that - as the results from a polish will be better and more permanent than just filling the scratch with coloured goo.
  4. Scratch removers are polish or filler: usually polish. Polish is basically an abrasive (think liquid very very fine sandpaper). As wallace says if the scratch is deep enough to be felt then you won't be able to remove it but you can make it less visible by rounding the edges of the scratch with a good polish. I find I've gotten good results on scratches with meguiar's scratch X and a good applicator pad. have a read up on Autopia for more in-depth guides.
  5. I can vouch for this - my airbag cover was noticeably a different colour - after one application of the wonderful 303 - it's already only noticeable if you stare at it in certain lighting conditions. that 303 is amazing stuff - my whole dash looks new, and by new I don't mean coloured or shiny or otherwise back-to-blacked - it looks like it's just rolled out of the factory. go get some - considerably cheaper than new dash/airbag :)
  6. not 480p PAL via composite is (i think) 720x576 interlaced (576i) (NTSC is 480i) either way: wii via component looks much better than composite.
  7. Oh so there is a component cable available? I'll have to look at getting one of those as composite is rubbish and so out of date it's unbelievable....... yep - makes a big difference. The official ninty one is rarer than rocking horse poo - but there are lots of 3rd party ones about usually go for about a tenner. I got the joytech one from play.com. (just looked there and they do have the official ninty one but it's £7 dearer than the joytech one - but remember that component is analogue so cable quality does matter)
  8. After reading the top of the thread, I was just thinking to myself how you even had component cables as my Wii doesn't, just the composite ones...........why do you need a new cable though, what happened to the one in the box? Yeah one of things that annoys me about the wii is how primitive its display characteristics are, on a 50" screen the picture really is quite poor. Wii only ships with composite cable (One vid cable (yellow) and stereo audio cables (red + white)) - therefore no HD and rubbish picture on HD tellies. Composite cable (sold separately - 3 vid cables + 2 audio) will allow Wii to display at 480p - not exaclty HD but passable on HD tellies. No real HD on Wii until Wii HD (the refresh console).
  9. Very unlikely that something has broken. I'd suggest something on the case is touching the mobo where it shouldn't be and causing a short. TBH - you're unlikely to find out what's wrong without taking it out of the new case. If it were me - take it out of case. Put mobo, on a non-conductive surface - plug in CPU, RAM and vid card only - connect it monitor and power and check that it still boots. Then look carefully on the new case when you put the motherboard back in - some cases have more metal feet than the mobo is expecting. Golden rule though is: if your PC is working - DON'T FIDDLE WITH IT ;)
  10. Found this in the archives. Sounds like the right price if it's the one mentioned there.
  11. How much can you actually do to the leather? I've only got the half leather seats but I've noticed the edges of the front seats have a few crease lines in them, plus they're a little shiny as is the steering wheel. Would I be able to get these out, or once it starts getting shiny it's too far gone? I haven't actually done anything to my leather since I bought the car in 2002 so it's probably in pretty good condition considering but I'd love to get it looking like new again The leather on my '51 plate 300 had obviously never been treated in any way when I got it so was getting a bit shiny and creaky esp. the driver's seat. After washing and conditioning with the sonus kit there was a huge difference: the shinyness was gone and the leather felt much more supple - big creases were still there but much less noticeable. It was not completely "as new" but it was pretty close. Even had that new leather smell.
  12. Depends what kind of "clean" you want to give them - I'm sure baby wipes will wipe off any crud etc. But if you're looking to actually deep clean and condition your leather so it comes up like new (and even smells like new leather) - go for a proper kit.
  13. Many congratulations! sleep is overrated anyway... (so says new-dad on 4hours sleep a night ;) )
  14. I used the Sonus leather cleaning kit on my IS300 - very very pleased with the results and no perforation-crud. Link to an online supplier
  15. I use 303 Aerospace Protectant and I swear by it and so do many of the other LOC members - best I've used so far for getting that factory finish plus it's got UV protection to stop plastics fading. Here's a link for it in the uk linky
  16. These pocket-rockets are mental... but brilliant. Well done to all of you. Can't wait to see how this turns out. BTW you all seen this? Aygo Crazy
  17. Great job Wozza - you inspired me to finally do mine. I had a set of stickers I ordered from Steve over a year ago that I had planned to put on my old black IS. I couldn't remember what colour they were but had a feeling they were white - so painted the calipers black. Came to put the stickers on and was chuffed to see they were the chrome ones :) rubbish pics but I forgot to take pics with the rims off.
  18. The issue has been that if your stereo has the code 13902 on the front then it will not work. AFAIK Grom have been pretty good at sending out new upgraded units for people with that unit to try but as yet they haven't been able to fix it. There have been a few other niggling issues that some users have had but there's are usually overcome with a some kind of work around. Personally I've had mine since Nov last year and it's never missed a beat and has been used constantly. If you don't need Wozza-levels of volume and want to retaint the stock look with ipod controls through the headunit (and your HU isn't 13902) then I'd say this is the way to go.
  19. Is it that time of year again - gosh time does fly. ;) (soz, Tyger)
  20. 1 should be ample - possibly less. Depending on size of bars break it into three chunks and make a disc out of one of those and rest that in your palm - keep the area you're claying very well lubricated, and after each panel mush up and re-flatten your clay. The golden rule though is: if you drop it bin it. If the panel isn't lube'd enough that clay will jump right out of your hand and will collect evry bit of grit on the floor.
  21. Chrome exhaust trim - fitted not flush with the old pipe should make it stick out enough. Thanks Hando. Where can I find one, Halfords? Oh and what diameter am I looking for? You can get them from Halfords, but my previous one I got from dealer as an OEM part so didn't have to know diameter - sorry.
  22. I'll PM..they come with all lug nuts and locking nuts, and Bridgestone Potenza's..tyre sizes are front 225/45r17 and the rear 245/45r17. Can be currently viewed at WIM :eerrrmm: Here's a pic of them on my 300 when Tango very kindly lent them to me whilst mine were being refurbed.
  23. Really sorry to hear this mate. Sincere condolences to you and your family.
