  1. I had this, solved it by having the interior sensor in the roof disconnected by the dealer....not saying it's your problem but it solved mine after embarrasing middle of the night problems (with the car that is!!!)
  2. Sports have had a harder life ???? Hmmm maybe, maybe not. IMO if you really really want an IS 200, and you are sure you want to calm down (I don't believe you!!) then the history and condition of the individual car should be your No1, sport or not - these are 'older' cars now so the quality of the individual car should be the object. If you are not sure that a different style of 'performance' car is up your street, then look elsewhere or be prepared to spend cash and time on altering the Lex. Horses for courses, probably the best value around at the moment is the LS400 (V8) cheap as chips, but look away at the petrol pump, and it's not exactly styled like a DB9 ! I prefer the 300, but it's an auto and the power is smooth, rather than 'car park razz'...Good luck!
  3. I would never lt the tank go to empty, I always understood that if you do, and theres c*** in the tank you can stir it up and get rough running....I run my 300 on Asda most of the time or whoevers cheapest..!
  4. Doh!! The one I wanted is not DVD it's a CD (2000).....back to the drawing board!
  5. Thanks for replies, yep satnav already but the boot unit is u/s.....good point about cd or DVD, I reckon mines DVD will check. The cars 'original' at the moment and I want to keep it that way if poss rather than going down the Ormi/Sony/headunit route!!
  6. Hi all, Anyone out therer know if an IS200 boot mounted satnav player will direct fit into my 2002 300 Sportcross?
  7. Hi all, I want to try and get hold of a replacement DVD satnav boot unit, it says on the sales and wants section that you need to be a gold to sell, but I want to buy however I still can't post...am I missing something?
  8. No messin no chat, the answer to the question is YES!

    Sat Nav Cd Unit

Hi all, My satnav cd unit is u/s, have you got one that works ?? 2002 IS300 s/c.
  10. If its like mine, open the boot, and look for a metal box to the rhs of the spare wheel, thats the dvd/cd sat nav unit. Unbolt the guard and there's an eject button on the front (facing the spare), out it pops and pop in the new one. Lucky you by the way my nav won't work as that unit is u/s, £150 to mend apparently so its mr tomtom or his mates for me, still I can amuse myself by watching the screen go up and down anyway!Must put a request on the wants board!
  11. Hi all, for the first time ever, she wouldn't start this morning, battery discharged 'currently' on charge now (excuse the pun!). When I was trying to start her up ,the usual click click click was heard instead of the starter motor...but the cd changer was cycling too...turned off the cd/radio it kept on cycling, turned off the ignition key out still cycling !!! Why??....also any speculation...do you think the battery is knackered or could it be the cd cycling whilst i am tucked up in bed, flattening my battery??? How could the cd cycle with the player off and the key out??
  12. Errrr...Are these LED strips and suchlike actually classed as DRL's which are the subject of the post? I thought DRL's were of a given specification, bright enough for day 'safety' use? Are those bright Audi LED strips DRL's then? Whats the difference between dippies and DRL's? If the rear fogs can be converted to brake use, can the front fogs become DRL's or do they have to be a certain height etc, cos I know you technically can't use fogs when it's not foggy/falling snow..... Bit ironic for an old #### like me as I had a volvo with DRL's years ago (it saved my life actually!)and everyone was soooooooo clever telling me I'd left my lights on, next year all new cars will have them !
  13. Hi Mines a 300 but if its the same there is a black tube from the rad top to a black tank with a plastic top on it...its a pig to get off on mine..it is the exp tank and i keep it half full, i also have a peek under the rad cap proper to check its fully topped up. Apart from one panic moment over about 5 years never had a problem and never have to put water in, so if you are getting water loss it will need a good look round. Cos its never been a problem thats about all i know....!
  14. Blimey Ormi, you lives and you learns !!!!!
  15. I'm on the Falkens all round on my S/C, have a look at Event Tyres...top service every time for me. Don't forget the tyre sizes are different front and rear!
  16. Oh me duck, no-one answering, don't feel all alone! Me no use them... but (sure you know anyway) windscreen replacement is cited as being a prime cause of water getting into the fusebox near your right sock...suggest you talk to fitter about it to take extra care.
  17. Now I'm all for hanging onto standard looks, but your wheels could lead me onto the darkside! Excellent photography too....keep takin them pictures...impressed.
  18. Maybe (but not deffo) an Oxygen sensor....you will need to get another code if it is, watch out though as on mine, the art of diagnosing which sensor needed changing produced different results by different dealers (Light came on on my 'ollys, and they diagnosed a different sensor to my local dealer)If it is an oxy sensor, you can drive but possibly MPG will dive. No doubt others may speculate....I take a lit up piccy of an engine staring me in the face seriously though...!
  19. You are right there is stuff on the forum about this. It may be a red herring but in the early 2000's I think there was a Lex service bulletin about a 'starting reflash' as IS were having starting problems. You may be able to check if the car has had this thro the dealer records. The Lex ref of this was EG2004.
  20. So it was YOU making all that bloody noise outside while I was trying to watch a show in a portakabin at Pleasance then was it !!!!!! Not much else tosay about MPG, apart from keeping the car properly serviced, tyre pressures...if you have been to WIM for the treatment Bones says go up to 25 per corner. Me I don't worry too much enjoying the car is more important IMO.
  21. Hi, Yes I get 25mpg on mixed motorway and ordinary, I have not noticed a difference since to my previous 200...mind you I enjoy the drive so much I don't care anyway! Other stuff... read as per 200, check the headlights are not wet inside...if you like your grunt smooth as cream then enjoy!
  22. Paint blisters on the sportcross tailgate are not unknown, I had one last year on my 02, Lex Derby took photos, and it was agreed that the blisters were from inside, ie not paint chips, and as such the tailgate was repainted under warranty. Hope this helps !!

  24. Hi MarkoIS, good to have you here. Always a pleasure to be in France, I enjoy driving your roads more than here in the UK, and looking forward to a trip over next year. I can't say I have ever seen another 200/300 on the roads, so maybe you are a 'little exclusive'!!?
