  1. Thanks IHgs300, petayV8.......er the pagid are not ceramic, and I can't find a price less than about £90-100 for ceramic pads, surely these are super duper spec ones at that price, and the Mintex you say are ok are not ceramic?? Still confused, but looks like Pagid for me!?
  2. Blimey,it's almost as painful as choosing tyres!!!......Front Discs and Pads, Pagid (£108) or Mintex (£79), Nope I don't want Brembo, or slotty holey ones, just normal ones that stop me (!)....anyone any experience of these options to help me make my mind up, I'm good at great big decisions, it's these little ones that are a pain!
  3. Not sure about the 220, but the US site my.IS talks about gurgling on the 200 and describes various ingenious methods to get rid of air in the heater system.....
  4. You could knit a little key pouch? (serves you right for saying how useful we are on here!!!)
  5. Wow! great info....now I even have a choice! Many thanks!!
  6. Well, it's just fallen off the windscreen, anyone suggest a mega adhesive to stick it back on, because I have tried a 'contact' adhesive....no chance...that mirror is heavy. Also, its wired to the electrics with a number of wires, and no visible connector, so the mirror is hanging loose, and that's worse than furry dice because it's not doing the mirror any good...! Anyone?
  7. IMO for any strange electrical problem on the IS.....the easy first check is to ascertain if water is getting into the fuse boxes in the footwell, it's probably not your problem.....but a screen leak (or in my case a miniature leak through a bulkhead grommet) can cause untold gremlins in the electrics. I had some water poured over the ends of the screen, and after a while.. drips appeared.
  8. Thanks chaps! My local shoemender person has cut them before for me no problems, so should be ok....
  9. Pah! Despite ordering before properly, I have gone and bought a couple of key blanks of the longer style, rather than the shorter. What a prat! Anyhow, is it still possible to use these, can't see quite why not....anyone with more intelligence know ??!
  10. Just for info, Britannia in Derby will do SS repairs and quote you for an SS system if necessary.
  11. Yep, they want £150.....that's well above tomtom money to me, and I am not a great fan of the satnav either when it was working (clunky, no postcodes etc) but I want to keep my car original if possible as many are being modded, OK they are rare, but then with only 600 sportcross in the country demand can't be great either....? Maybe I'm being too much of a tightwad !
  12. Mine has deceased, and the breakers want silly money! (Note: this is not the same shape as a saloon unit, it's a box shape).
  13. .....to all............ and to those, like us, who celebrate Yule, and had a big night on Saturday at the turn of the year..winter solstice.
  14. Ditto....but you're not having mine! I decided to sell mine a month ago and get something more economical and smaller, but I drove a couple and I can't face it, so more TLC for my sportcross (yay!). Don't forget to factor in depreciation (or lack of it) into your MPG calcs. I have previously been tempted to by a second gen IS and a hybrid...but I can't break away from the 1st gen, despite advancing years.
  15. Hi all, Now I am not exactly tight, but 25 squids for an IS 200 secondhand reader, is sensible, but 150 squids for one for my sportcross is well beyond the 'Tomtom' threshold! I know it won't exactly fit (the sportcross one is a rectangular box) but will it connect and work? Why are the sportcross ones more expensive anyway?
  16. I had this, and it was only water getting into the passenger side footwell electrics!
  17. It was easy for me, setting up a new business, and meeting (so called) top execs, I was running a 12 year old Saab high pressure turbo, and could not afford a newer car, the six digit NI plate for £250 obscured the car's age!! It was important...I remember an early morning meeting in a fancy HQ, 'he' looked down at the visitors car park and said which (of the two) was mine...I told him and he said good, he would not have expected me to be driving the other one (a Ford)...... snobby *** !!..but I got the job. I don't have to tolerate such tossers anymore!
  18. OOOoooooh Thanks pete good videos! I am going all eclectic lately, and have heard some great world music, esp African.....root of roots! Now exploring the wide world of internet radio via 'Tune in Radio' app, and direct recording to listen at home and in lexy.....big wide musical world out there...too old..I need more time!
  19. ...think it's all there sedmund, by the way I did mention the sensor was disconnected to the insurance company, they were not concerned. (Must remember it's disconnected as it seems I will be selling my lovely sportcross soon...boo hoo !!!!)
  20. Looked at this thread, as I thought someone must have taken a picture of my car............but it's not mine....gutted!
  21. Daughter has got my sportcross on extended loan at the moment (!)(yes I am that old), her criteria is that she must be able to get 4 diving cylinders and gear in the back, so saloon.... no good !!!!
