i`ll also add to this nonsense that there has been a major reduction in jam sandwiches on the roads because of this shift to pasive policing.......... now on the m18 on saturday the wife pointed out a family of 5 in a fiesta, with a baby in its mothers arms in the back seat , and then i spotted a merc a class which had so much stuff in it that it was piled up on the passenger side dash board, thus the driver could only see out of 1 half of the windscreen Would these bad drivers be caught on camera? Where are the police on the roads? Witness what happens when police drive on the motorway, it becomes a rolling road block!! No speeding then! And how long is it b4 you are scanned leaving your home to arriving at work and vice versa? IF THE LAW IS NO CAR OVER 70MPH, WHY IS EVERY CAR ON THE ROAD CAPABLE OF BREAKING THE LAW???????????????????????????????????????????????????????? WHAT POSSIBLE EXCUSE IS THERE FOR MANUFACTURERS TO BE ALLOWED TO DISTRIBUTE LETHAL WEAPONS THAT CAN BREAK THE LAW? None of us would be having this discussion if we did not own vehicles that could contravene the law of the land. And may i add guns killed far less people a year and they`re banned, but being able to buy a 1+ton of machinery that can kill many is controlled by the disgusting use of scameras. I love my lexus, but if it couldn`t break the law, just like everybody elses, then i wouldn`t be bothered. I wouldn`t be concerned about watching the speedo all the time, because i would know that there is no possible way the engine could go over 70, therefore i would be watching the road all the time!!!!!

we drove from MK to Hull on Saturday and there are 4 sets of roadworks all >2 miles long. Some are average speed, some Gatso. ALso have those stupid neon signs that are supposed to light up when you go over the speed limit------and boy are those calibrated incorrectly, they are almost random!! As an experiment in calming myself down, we set off at 8.10 am, and beleive me its easier to drive slower when there is less traffic---i even went down to 65mph without realising it--traffic dynamics and less aggression/claustrophobia i guess. But driving conservatively and trying to keep at a constant 70mph is nigh on impossible. Trying to keep your leg at one position is like trying to keep a dumbell up--try it it hurts after a while, but the geniuses don`t seem to figure that. I also found that i was constantly watching the speedo, so much so that i almost missed the lorry that abruptly pulled out in front of me trying to keep up his momentum. and thats no BS. also i`m in a 2litre car, one loss of concentration/leg stretch downhill and i`m suddenly doing 85mph. So with all the roadworks on my journey, all the absolute tw*ts cruising in the middle lane......................well lets put it this way, if they`re really ruddy well serious about knocking speeding on the head they would limit engine size. That's because I designed the site ;) They do not charge by square metre mate, every job has it's own individual price, according to the job ........... My complete driveway, block paved (herringbone style) two new walls cost me £4,300. 20k is about normal for Milton keynes driving, 'cos of the roundabouts. but check carefully the wording of the brake pad guarantee, as theres room for 'constructive negotiation', especially if you get them done at a 'high street' garage.......... 16year old mechanics and managers that never stay at the same place for more than 6months can be used to your advantage :winky:
