  1. Cheers mate will give that a try :D
  2. Following on from yesterday and the suggestion from Tigerfish. Anyone know if you short pins on the Tezza diagnostic port and read the codes off the CEL? Thanks folks. Neil
  3. Thanks for that mate, makes sense. Need to sign out now, but where is it located so I can do a check on wiring etc.
  4. OK mate thanks for that will try Edgware Road as they are nearest to home provided I make it there! Symptoms are that the car just cuts out, can't be sure but I am sure that the CEL only comes up once it's died. Try to restart and it fires up as normal, revs build up to just above 1K and it then just dies. Smells of petrol so sure fuel is getting through. After a few attempts it runs again. Any ideas mate?
  5. Would any Toyota dealer have one or do I need a tuning company like Fensport?
  6. Thanks Mat, that's what I thought. How can I get the fault codes read, there is a diagnostic port beside the ECU and I really need to find out what's up, it keeps cutting out.
  7. Hi got a little problem with the car and need to get the fault codes read. I'm sure that I read somewhere that the Tezza is not OBDII compliant, tried a search on here and came up with nowt. I'm away on hols and can only get connected through the mobile with basic WAP so it's a bit slow. Any help would be appreciated. TIA Neil
  8. The above is correct BUT ONLY if applying at a Post Office which deals with "advance applications" or a local DVLA centre if you can find either. You cannot just go to any Post Office which offers road tax renewals. Yup that's what the words say on the DVLA website mate
  9. Thats what I have always thought. Or rather, from the 15th of the month in which it is due to expire. According to DVLA Website from 15th of month of expiry online or by phone and 2 months at a Post Office or DVLA office.
  10. Differance to profile will be minimal though. 4mm at most (like a new tyre compared with an old!) Yup about 8mm on the diameter so about 1% effect on the speedo reading.
  11. Glad you're sorted mate. But did I get this right? You took the coilpack that was on cylinder 1 when you had the fault and put it on to cylinder 6 and it came up all ok?
  12. Hmm, just had a browse on ebay and they are really cheap! How good are these Mintex pads and discs though - I like a bargain as much as the next guy but brakes are one place I don't like to play about much.......are they as good as or better than the Lexus OEM stuff? There are a lot of Mintex users on here including me :) They are good quality stuff.
  13. Welcome to LOC Dave :D
  14. Don't think the term Guys is gender specific, I use it as expression to address a pair or more of persons collectively Welcome to LOC :D
  15. Won't come to much when the environmental audit comittee say the plans won't make much difference and are not ambitious enough. The whole thing is a pile of crap. Lets face it the emission levels of your car are bugger all to do with how much you pollute. I could have an ecofriendly £0 rated car kicking out 100g/Km and drive 30,000 miles a year while my neighbour with an IS200 with emissions of 231g/Km, pays £430 road tax and drives 10,000 miles a year. The facts are that my eco car has put more **** in the atmosphere that my neighbours "gas guzzler". When will they stop poncing about and stop the politcal posturing, CO2 emissions are directly related the MPG, lower MPG = higher emissions. Lower MPG = higher fuel consumption = higher cost. So in short you pay for your pollution through fuel costs, the more you burn the more you pay, thats the way it is and should be.
  16. Air Asia don't operate in Europe so must be out East soemwhere.
  17. Hi Ally good to hear from you. Sounds like the home life is a bit on the busy side, I know that one with a near 4 year old that's handy with a screwdriver and a spanner. All the best.
  18. Sorry! I mean the key! The key has just 2 buttons on it lock and unlock! OK now all is clear.
  19. You keep talking about a key AND a remote. The IS has no remote it is all in the key. Do you have a separate fob as well as a KEY?
  20. Hi and welcome to LOC :D
