  1. Thats what I would guess as well mate, firing order (sequence)
  2. thats what the lounge is for. Agreed on the lounge. What no one needs after a post on a PC problem is "should have bought bought a mac and you would not have the problem"
  3. Who's that then Don't tell me, let me guess, "Tyger the Baptist" maybe
  4. Don't really care mate, it's a free world after all. If you don't like someone else's opinion you can argue against it or just ignore it like I do. Like it or not the world is ruled by PCs. If a minority want to be evangelists and go "door to door preaching the good news", politely close the door and shake your head at the poor eccentric, and go back to sitting at your PC
  5. The 10Mb broadband I have from Virgin is ADSL, you are right in that it uses different technology but is just the transmission media that's different. In the UK the final connection to the end user is still copper.
  6. First off the guy was not guilty of anything we know of apart from not having a valid visa, no reason to kill him. If it was the streets would be littered with corpses. As I said way back in this thread, the Judge ruled out "Unlawful Killing" as a verdict that the jury could return. An inquest is not a trial, back to civil law and "balance of probabilities" again. For unlawful killing to be brought in it would have be clear that the officers who pulled the triggers did it independently. The question is did they BELIEVE that the guy was a threat to them and others based on the information they had at the time. Also bear in mind that their radios would probably not work on the station at that time so no contact with the surface. What is clear is he didn't jump any barriers, run down the escalators or try to "get away", that is on CCTV. What happened on the train is from eye witnesses who were there at the time. Think if YOU saw a man being shot in the head right in front of you would you really remember what actually happened just before? Most of the people on the "tube" shut off and don't even look at anyone never mind pay attention to what's happening about them, first they would know was WTF was that bang. The whole thing was a "screw up" through bad intelligence nothing more and nothing less, could it happen again? Yes it could, and it has happened before. Sad case, lessons to be learnt no doubt, farce not IMHO.
  7. how do you do that Try EBuddy, this is a common one so may be blocked too, there are loads out there.
  8. You can get round blocks on most networking sites by going through a proxy.
  9. Maybe they should just close it to stop the losses, reschedule the loans, ask the Govt for a "bail out" like Metronet have had and Tubelines are asking for now. No problem it's their road and everyone can go back on the M6 for a while, or pay the toll, get there quicker and save the toll from fuel costs.
  10. Did you buy the car from the dealer, if so they should sort the insurance out. If not, as said above get it covered on your insurance as a "like for like" loan car, yours is off the road so no increase in risk to your insurer.
  11. "Power is for show, torque is for go" and like you say BHP is for pub talk and willy waving. What matters is torque to the way a car feels and more importantly how it's delivered. A "flat curve" with good torque spread across a wide rev range is an engine that will "pull" though the gears. You can change up earlier and still get the engine to "pull", this means fewer gear changes and better 0-60 times etc. Obviously the higher up this torque line is the better, the area under the torque curve is what's important. So back on topic, this is what the CamCon is supposed to do, give better torque lower down the rev range. In have seen some dyno results that do show that it works. However with an auto box you can't use the extra cos the box will change down to keep the revs up. In my case I really just use it to correct the fuelling as the induction and decat made the engine run lean. So if you want more power to brag about down the pub the Camcon won't deliver for you.
  12. The verdict of unlawful killing could only be brought in if there was enough evidence to prove the the officers who actually pulled the triggers acted outside the rules that they operate under. Did they believe that he was a threat to the public or them. Why they thought that he was is where it all went wrong.
  13. OK the basics; the force of the piston pushing down on the con rod pushes on the crank shaft = torque. The torque makes the crankshaft turn. So no torque = no revs. Power is basically Torque x Revs, so no torque = no revs = no power. So there are 2 ways to get more power, more torque or more revs. To use my favourite expression "Torque is the Father of power and revs are it's Mother. So when an engine is tuned, the tuner is actually getting it to produce more torque at a given number of revs to lift the power curve up. Also the bit that everyone wants is acceleration: and that is TORQUE, the wheels push/pull the car forward by transmitting torque to the road as a force through the tyres. The bigger the force the faster you accelerate as Force = mass x acceleration.
  14. Me too mate :D But more to come of the torque/power bit later!
  15. OK Stav your willy is bigger than mine mate Sig now corrected
  16. I agree big claim Where is the end? And the rest so why would it be crap in a car? It's nearly correct just the wrong way round, if you increase torque at a given number of revs you increase the power at those revs. No more torque no more power.
  17. Why do the "willy wavers" always go on about BHP. The Hyabusa engine in standard form is about 160 Bhp and the Blackbird around the same, good as an IS200 engine on paper then? Well fit a 1.3 litre 160 Bhp engine in your car and go for it, will it do the same job? No, well why not? When you have the answer you will have enlightened yourself somewhat.
  18. They are probably all the same with different connectors on the ends of the leads. I had that with the Tezza when I replaced them. The fault is in the heater not the actual sensor, all the heater does is get it up to operating temp faster. Buy a generic one, cut the connector off the old one and solder it onto the lead off the new one. Save a load, they are about half the price of the Toyota ones.
  19. Not too far, I would guess about 15 miles or so.
  20. No, you are completely missing the point, it is not a question of proving guilt or innocence, they don't need to provide enough evidence to get to "beyond reasonable doubt" to send you to the gallows. It is up to a Judge to decide "ON THE BALANCE OF PROBABILITY" who is giving the most accurate version of events. Damages can only be claimed up to the level of what has been lost, so they have lost F all, they can claim F all in damages. Offer a quid "without prejudice, and in full and final settlement", use a cheque that they won't cash because their bank charges for putting the cheque in will cost that much. IF it got to court it would be thrown out anyway because reasonable recompense had been offered. Oh, and the common terms on most LAD's use the wording "which may be recovered as a debt", this means that they can sell it on to a debt recovery company who may come and knock on the door.
  21. Going to go "against the flow" here. A good disclaimer will protect your company from later claims made through the courts so good idea. It won't stop you or WIM being "slagged off" on public forums if some ***** wants to do it because you said "it went wrong and you signed the disclaimer so sod off" A Hole #1 will resort to "slagging off". Know what Wozza is saying and who he is talking about, he has a disclaimer and a bad reputation now on the forums, so it is a fine line between customer relations and "taking one from behind".
  22. Could be bad timing mate, what was she doing at the estimated time of return, she may have been in Tesco and you show up in your pants on isle 4 Don't mess with the 4th dimension.
