  1. Gauge probably went down because there was no coolant left to measure the coolant temp from. No heat from the heaters would also suggest no coolant. Depends on how far you drove like that if any damage has been done.
  2. Hard to take at any time but with the wedding it must be especially gutting for you and the family. All the best for the final send off in Aviemore, there is no finer place to be than the Highlands. Thoughts are with you.
  3. This is crazy, love this one Not Work or Kid Safe - LANGUAGE AT THE END Please wait a few seconds for Video to Load!
  4. We got snow here now, just had to walk back from the station in it.
  5. lol swap you!? Yup they are Fargo's seats, he swapped the covers back to standard when he was selling the car. AFAIK he still has them so may be worth a PM if you are interested.
  6. Really gutted for you mate, I knew your mum was very ill. Knowing that a loved ones days are numbered does not make it any easier when they go. As you know Cancer Research and McMillan Nurses are charities that are close to my heart too for personal reasons. The McMillan nurses are such special people, the way that they deal, day in day out, and always with great care and compassion. Thoughts are with you and your family.
  7. All the best with the move and the new life in HK mate. Don't blame you for wanting out of this place, specially when you look at the weather today
  8. Do you have a Engine Management Light on? If so you need to get the fault codes read. Could be the ETC or the piggyback on the ECU for the S/C IMHO.
  9. Might start that one myself see how easy I find it 1st tho Take the headrest out of the seat, put them full forward, take out the 2 bolts at the back of the slide rails and lift the back of the seat up as far as possible. Unplug the connectors under the seat (yellow are air bags), the others are power for heated seats and adjusters (if you got them). Then just take the seat out.
  10. It's really easy mate, takes me about 10 minutes now. I take the lot out to clean out the inside of the car. It is only about twice a year though
  11. Drove the car this morning and I didn't notice anything amiss as the drive is short, lots of junctions and roundabouts etc. Anyway picked up the car tonight and headed for home as normal, did a glance down like you do and noticed the rev counter was a zero! Did a proper scan and noticed the oil pressure gauge was registering zero as well FFS! Pulled over and cut the engine as fast as possible. Have a think and come up with: odd that 2 indications gone at the same time. Started the engine and the both came up as normal then dropped back down to zero straight away so I am pretty sure it is an electrical fault rather than no oil pressure. Know the ECU is getting rev reading as the CamCon still shows the revs OK. Got back home and did an ECU reset (fuses version) and still the same, checked for any obvious fuses on the info I have and nothing that relates to those bits so I am stumped I am reasonably confident that the oil pressure is OK, problem is that the Tezza has no oil pressure warning light so if I do lose pressure I won't know till the back wheels lock up Anyone got any ideas. Cheers Neil
  12. Thanks for the help guys, all sorted now :D Tried my IP on another box and it all worked OK so not a problem with the IP or router. Next did a system restore on mine and no joy. Next was switch to a new switch port through a different outlet on the wall still no joy. Set the NTL free DNS on my PC and rebooted, as suggested by Geoffers, and off it went like a good'un. Switched back to the primary DNS that was originally set, reboot and hey ho back online. Changed back to my assigned outlet, ran NSLOOKUP and all was back to normal. TBH don't really know what sorted it but it looks like the change of DNS gave it a kick and the change back sorted out the DNS cache. Anyway thanks again. Neil
  13. Thanks chaps will give it a go again on Monday.
  14. Hi Anees IP is internal on a network and uses the same gateway on the network to access the net. Some IP's have net access and some don't according to the level assigned to the IP. The office has a big network and I assume uses a router to the gateway, only had a long range look at the server rack and it is the usual nest of patch leads about 3m long to interconnect over 2U Don't know why I didn't think to restore
  15. I work in an serviced office where we access the main office network using remote desktop. Our company has a number of IP addresses allocated on the service companies network that have internet access individually assigned as part of the service agreement. Consequently we use fixed IP and DNS addresses on each PC to access the local network and the net. Each PC has XP Pro as the OS, AVG anti virus with Windows Firewall enabled. Anyway I shut down my PC as normal last night, got in this morning, fired it up and no internet access. Checked all the TCP/IP settings and they were all OK. Checked against the settings on the PC beside me to be sure and all were the same with the obvious exception of the IP address. Tried switching off the firewall, reboot and still no joy. Switched off AVG - nothing Next I tried changing to the IP to the one from a PC that was switched off, no joy again. Changed back to the IP I was allocated and went to the PC with the IP I had tried, fired it up and all was OK! So got on with some work. Back to my PC later: - Ran IPCONFIG and got the correct settings back IP, Gateway, DNS etc etc, this being the same as through control panel. Ran NSLOOKUP and got Can't find server name for address a.b.c.d: Timed out Can't find server name for address w.x.y.z: Timed out Default Server: UnKnown Address: a.b.c.d with a.b.c.d being the correct IP for the primary DNS server and w.x.y.z being the correct IP for the alternate DNS server. Other PC's that work when I run NSLOOKUP give Default Server: dns0.ispname.net Address: a.b.c.d Can ping IP addresses but not domain names Ran TRACERT and I get IPs but no server names I am at - must be a DNS problem on my PC as the same IP works on another PC. Looks like the unresolved Default Server name, if so how do I reset it or manually configure it either from command prompt or is there a registry setting I can change? Is there anyone out there that can help it's driving me nuts. Ta Neil p.s any posts from Tyger about Appfell will be ignored at best, at worst treated with total derision OK.
  16. Classic case of not observing the "First law of holes", when you are in one stop digging
  17. Having a working speedometer is a legal requirement however the accuracy of it is never checked. The speedo is not even part of the MOT. Cool dash though I have to say, the only thing missing is altitude and missile lock indication
