  1. Totally agree mate. Law already covers this as you can be charged with "driving whilst un-fit due to drink or drugs". Problem is proving the drugs bit, I believe that people are working on a road side test that can be done. Scarface will probably be along and give us more info than I know
  2. Just go to www.tesco.com and have the lot delivered for a fiver, problem solved :D
  3. Sounds a bit steep. I got 4 Goodyear Eagle F1's (215/45 ZR17) in Jan cost was £ 420 including balancing and tracking.
  4. Blimey I would want a whole in-car radiogram with 8 track for that
  5. He must be some kind of idiot then if they are just empty boxes - he quotes local pick up only, I reckon any buyer would be quite likely to have a look inside before be parts with his cash ← "They will house 1 x 12" sub each and come fitted with terminal spring loaded socket for easy connection and pre-carpeted and fitted with velcro to hold them in place." Sounds like you fit your own to me
  6. Seen them before on E-bay think they are just boxes, no speakers inside
  7. You won't regret it mate :D ← I think i was one of the first,my visit next week is for the fine tune and yes Tony i do remember Eddie though hes not on here much. ← Oops only a new boy sorry
  8. You won't regret it mate :D
  9. Fitted -35mm PI springs and out 6 weeks ago and thought the car handled great and was going to get the tracking checked after the springs had "bedded in". Decided to get the geometry done and took it to Tony at STS Watford. Driving home the car just felt so much better but could'nt nail it as usual Friday PM traffic for down here and the roads were well wet Been out today for a bit of a run around, you would think it was a different car feels great, steering is well weighted and precise and handling superb :D If you are thimking about it stop thinking and get it done, well worth the money considering the superb discount for LOC members at STS Watford. Thanks for a great job Tony and the free lesson on suspension set up
  10. Yeh when you start to see it you think OOPS then the rest unfolds, awsome
  11. Great stuff mate, so that means my -30mm with OEM 17"'s should be fine ! I just need to put the springs on now .............. (ukazn) hint hint !!!!! ← Should be OK Only problem on adjustment was the rear camber which is at -1 27' and - 1 14' min should be -53' Tony could not set as adjuster was maxed out! The lower you go the more neg camber you get, at least it's in the right direction for hard cornering! So not worried at all :D Tony mentioned some threads discussing mods to allow more adjustment of rear camber so will have a look for them.
  12. Names Neil Age 44 (I Think if this is the calander year of 2005) Mental age getting younger every day! Divorced and now married to Jennie Got 3 kids from previous marriage, 3 step kids and a 5 month old with Jen. Self employed and design and commission comms systems for railways, that includes CCTV, PA, Help Points, Phones, Data Systems, Radio etc. Done a bit of progamming during college days studying Engineering, anyone remember FORTRAN? Got 3 old motorbikes as well a 79 Honda 550, 77 Yamaha TY 175 trials, and a 57 Matchless 350 single. Had the IS for just over 2 years and love it, just started mods. Kicked off looking at Super Chip then found LOC and the rest is history. Great forums and massive amount of knowledge within the club. Great to see it shared out, some forums seem to be (knowledge is power) and "what you didn't know that?" (look down the nose). Hobbies well cars and bikes I guess, play golf badly as well but it's good fun.
  13. I'm on -35mm PI's on a IS200 Sport 2000 on a W Tyres are 215/45 Eagle F1's on standard 17" Got the Geo done yesterday by Dr Bones and the kit fitted no probs.
  14. Stand corrected on Boyles Law it was a few years ago when I did that stuff :) Anyway the fact is P x V = C assuming temp stays constant ! Boyles Law. Charles worked out the relationship between Temperature and Volume assuming that pressure stayed constant. V1/T1 = V2/T2 Combine the two and you get (P1 x V1) / T1 = (P2 x V2) / T2. The ideal gas equation For volume substitute (Velocity x Cross Sectional Area of Duct) = Volume of Fluid per unit of time (gas is always a fluid) it can be moving or not. Net result is increase of pressure = increase of temp, decrease of pressure = decrease of temp without this fundemental principal we would have to drink warm beer in the Summer
  15. If it does it on start up only prob valve oil seals. With a special tool to hold the valve thay can usually be done without removing the head :) If only on the overun probably bores/rings All the time would suspect build up of crankcase pressure e.g blocked breather. Grey/Cream sludge in oil suggests water in the oil, this could be because of condensation; too many short runs and not enough booting it down the motorway :D Hope this helps
  16. Bit late in the thread but not how I was taught it. Agree with the the velocity and pressure bit above but not the temp. :duh: (Pressure x Volume) / Temperature = a Constant for any gas (called Boyles Law) When a gas is compressed the increase in pressure is greater them reduction in volume so temp increases (why a bike pump gets hot). In the reverse temp reduces, best illustration is why a CO2 extingusher cone gets very cold. :)
  17. Look like housings only. Any cones inside, don't say so would guess you fit them yourself Anyway why do you want subs in the boot the sound in mine is good enough without, so much so I can embarass the kids if I crank the base up they hide in the back foot wells
