  1. Mines in tomorrow for a new pedal bush. It makes more of a creaking noise when you press it, though.
  2. Nothing like that! Didn't have a club badge on it, but obviously he was 'in to it' (his car, that is!). I was in Manchester yesterday and, within about 500 yards, I saw no less than 5 Lex (one SC430, a GS and 3 IS). NONE had the club badge!!
  3. Was it you driving a black IS200 with gold badges, in Horwich, on 15/8/02?
  4. That place is near to me - http://www.douglasvalley.co.uk - they are general breakers, not Lexus dealers. Their site doesn't indicate that they break Lexus, so they probably don't know much about them.
  5. I'm always worried about T-Cut and that ilk. Can they not do more damage to the paintwork, and leave other blemishes and marks? I have 3 or 4 little scratches on mine that aren't too deep, and I'd like to get rid of them, too. I'm not bought T-Cut because, the last time I used it (years ago) it left a nasty patch all over the wing. What's the secret to using it?
  6. Not on the front, though. Volvo's have them on the side. The Discovery has them on the front, next to the headlights, as sidelights?
  7. Which reminds me - the newer Land Rover Discovery seems to have orange (indicator colour) side lights, a la cars from the States.... I though that this was illegal?
  8. One's for the auto headlights, but the other one is for the dashboard lights. You may notice sometimes that the dash lights are on, but it's not quite dark enough for the headlights to come on? There you go........ No, I have never noticed that happen - I will look out for it. I can see you all now, driving along with one hand over the sensors . It happens to mine a lot - maybe because it's kept in the garage? Try it out - stand the car, ignition on, in the daylight and cup a hand over the sensors, one by one, to see which lights come on. Tried my alarm (sorry neighbours!). The horn sounds, as does the alarm. The sensors seem to be in the light housing in the middle of the ceiling. Locks worked as before - press the 'Lock' on the keyfob once, the vehicle double locks (put my hand through the opened window, and couldn't unlock it manually). I don't think that there is a single lock option.
  9. Did I 'eck! I forgot all about it! My wife filled up with Optimax the other day and she got a Ferrari card, but it slipped my mind completely :bounce: Only joking (snigger)
  10. Did I 'eck! I forgot all about it! My wife filled up with Optimax the other day and she got a Ferrari card, but it slipped my mind completely :bounce:
  11. Just filled up on Optimax, for the first time - FIFTY QUID!! It's 77p per litre at the nearest Shell, whereas I normally pay about 72-73p per litre (admittedly for supermarket stuff). It'd better be good!
  12. Excellent! That must've taken ages to do.....
  13. Hi Haggis, If they won't replace them under warranty (I don't think you will have a problem, though), then see the Chris Shipley on LOC because he's news of an offer on new alloys direct from Lexus. Try your dealer first, though?
  14. One's for the auto headlights, but the other one is for the dashboard lights. You may notice sometimes that the dash lights are on, but it's not quite dark enough for the headlights to come on? There you go........ Locks - mines a 2001 model. I tried lowering the window and pressing the 'Lock' button on the kyfob once. The doors were well and truly deadlocked, and you couldn't open them from the inside at all. Press 'Lock' once and then again withing a few seconds and the hazards flash five times to signify that the motion sensors have been turned off. If you press the 'Lock' button when the car is already locked, it just goes through the motion of locking (you can hear it click) but it doesn't alter the state of the locks.
  15. You sure you didn't take a wrong turn onto the west coast line, instead "Sorry your train is late this morning, there was a Lexus on the line!"
  16. Sounds like a great security feature, if they could get it to go back all the way into the dashboard. That'd stop the little s****
  17. What's your favourite bit of your particular motor? Mines where the bonnet and the wings meet, and the bonnet is tooled with the lines that sweep to the front grill. Nice :D Sad, iniit?!?!
  18. Congratulations, mate! I'm sure that you will enjoy it. With regards to the dial being stuck under 20, your dealer has a modification for you, or you can do it yourself, if you are that way inclined. Get a piece of wood (pine, birch, mahogoney, etc), about 2" x 3", paint it your favourite colour and stick it under the right-hand pedal! The only difference between this and what the dealer has is that his is an official Lexus part, and comes pre-badged with the Lexus 'L' Happy motoring..............
  19. Yeh, Lee @ ihavetohave.it says that integration to the head units is coming on, and we may get one for the Lex sometime soon. They have to buy the heads first, so they will always go to the mass markets first. Integration would be better than the FM modulator, but the modulator is good enough on its own. I could always send my stereo off to them, so that they could develop a connection for it, but its expensive if it goes wrong!!
  20. Excellent!! I hope you enjoy it as much as I do - that kind of choice in your car is fantastic! In fact, take a look at the SliMP3 on http://www.ihavetohave.it, too. You can run this in ANY room in your house that has a CAT5 network cable, and play your MP3's through that - I'm gonna get rid of my CD's and player (or at least put them somewhere out of the way) - who needs them?? let me know how you get on - it'll be good to talk to another owner. I have a few pieces of software that you will find invaluable. Remember to check the forums on Ihavetohave.it, too!!
  21. Sorry - conflicting info!! Those ARE the dimensions of the satellite head unit. This goes in the car for you to 'twiddle' with. The other unit is about a third LONGER than an IDE hard drive, and a little wider. Hope it helps.......
  22. Rodders, The satellite head is approx 4.5" x 1.75" x 1.25" (w x h x d), and you need about the length again in front to slide it in and out of the permanently mounted car bay. Take a look at the installation pictures at the link below. I would suggest, however, if you are able, mount it IN the boot, rather than under the floor. This will help with air flow and keep the unit within its operating temp range. Let me know if you need any further information? Paul
  23. Just measured the height to the bottom of the skirt, and it's 15". Is the 18" critical? Just looked at maybe putting them in a similar place to those on Blue's Polo, and I think our bumpers (on the 200) are too deep. They would obstruct the downward beam? May take a chance with them in the bottom of the skirt. 3" may not make that much difference (that's what my wife says, anyway!!)
