  1. I had a bush replaced under warranty, but the creaking came back after about 3 or 4 weeks. Took it back in and they cured it again. No new parts, so I assume a good greasing would do it. I'm sure that, if you took the car straight to the workshop, instead of reception (no coffee, I know!) they could do it there and then.......
  2. Sounds to me it would be easier to change the colour of your stereo! How about some orange film over the display, of the type that photographers use over their studio lights?
  3. Anyone got a photo of the back of an IS200 stereo or connectors, by any chance? I'm hoping for intergration with my Dension and Lee needs to know what the back's like. Don't fancy pulling it out my self (the stereo, that is ) Ta!
  4. I've just been offered a 3-service deal by Lexus Bolton (they say it's actually offered by Lexus UK, so you can choose your dealer) at £670. You can also pay over 10 months, get vouchers and if needs be, sell the car with the voucher. All standard service items, such as oil, plugs, etc, are included. Seems like a good deal compared to the Lexus Oxford prices? Mine needs a 20, 30 and 40,000 mile service within the next 3 years. Anyone got experience of this scheme?
  5. I found some here though it may be cheaper elsewhere........
  6. That's what I wanted to hear!!
  7. So how come you've still only got three!!
  8. Anyone tried the Wheel Wax advertised in the press recently? Ad says that it cuts down on corrision and the build up of brake dust, amongst other things. Any experiences, good or bad?
  9. Spoke to Adair at Oxford Car Audio (top bloke). Unfortunately, he says it can't be done :(. He's just taken on Garmin as a dealer and he spoke to the tech guy at Garmin direct. They say it can't be done and any attempt is likely to blow up the internal voice chip on the GPS. Sad, really. Fallen out with Garmin a bit in the last week - everything I've asked in the past week, they've said 'no' to.
  10. Agree about 1st gear. You've gotta pretend you're in a Fiesta 950 Pop until you get to 2nd gear from lights Seriously, keep the revs high and it goes well enough......
  11. Excellent!! Will do. Oh, you got a contact number for him? Thanks :D
  12. Probably covered elsewhere, but a search was fruitless....... My new GPS has voice prompts, and uses a 2.5mm mono jack for output to a non-amplified speaker. The actual manual says you can't connect it to 'an externally amplified speaker'. Is it possible, using perhaps a 3.5mm jack (as 2.5mm seem quite rare), to simply plug this into the amp (pre or post amp??) or back of the stereo, to get the voice prompts through the stereo? Alternatively, I have a Nokia in-car phone kit that has a speaker. Would it be possible to tap into this, do you think? Can you have two inputs to one speaker, or do you need resistors. etc? Seems plausible, but don't want to blow anything up!!
  13. You can buy these things to cut down on your vehicles 'signature' to radar, too.
  14. Insured with eSure this year - sent them photo of the car with the skirts and grill (just in case) and a covering letter. No extra charge. The idea of charging more on vehicles with mods is not just the extra cost (Rod says his wheels aren't any more in value than the original Lex ones) but also the attractiveness to thieves. Consider a car with bog standard steel wheels/hubs and then the owner puts on shiny alloys - the cost may not be more than replacement steelies but the nickability value goes up.
  15. I seem to remember there were a few words about JAE in it ??
  16. I've not been here today - something to do with Banana's in Pyjama's!!
  17. On certain streets and car parks, my Clifford alarm remote on the old motor wouldn't work. In close proximity were either a phone mast (I kid you not) or a mast for emergency vehicle radio.
  18. I think you've come to the wrong place for an impartial view on what to buy Ask on the Merc, Audi and VW Owners Club website, and THEIR car will be the best of the bunch!! Good luck with your choice (I've not regretted mine in any way)
  19. The words 'try', 'one', 'more' and 'just spring to mind, though not necessarily in that order!!
  20. I thought the cops had pulled him at the end
  21. U2U me your mobile number, and I'll send you one??
  22. Shame you've gotta sign in - would be interesting to see the motors from across the globe. Why not upload to the gallery?
