  1. Hi, I'm looking for more cool mods I can do to my new IS300h, done quite a few but would really like some Angel Eyes. Does anyone know if you can get Angel Eyes for the IS300h? If so where from because I've looked all over the place. Cheers Dave
  2. Hi all, After many years with Mercedes, I am slowly losing faith in the brand and services. I'm now looking to change and was considering BMW, Jaguar, Audi & Lexus. Bit by bit, I discounted the others and it looks like i'll be venturing into the Toyota flock. I currently have a E220 cdi, and looking for something similar, or maybe a bit better. I think that means LS & GS. At present, I don't think I'm considering hybrids, as I don't know anything about them - yet. I notice that lots of Lexuses / lexxi ? run on petrol. Is there a reason for this,,,, or is it just the first ones that i'v seen ? I'm in West Cornwall, so my nearest dealer is Plymouth. Now comes a silly question; what are the pro's & con's that a new buyer needs to consider ? Please feel free to offer any advice to this new comer. cheers all
  3. MY HV battery on my GS450h is poor. I intend to pull it out and check each cell for corrosion, and trickle charge/replace where necessary. When i disconnect the HV battery, will the petrol engine still run as normal, and will all my electrics work? IE, do some electrics require the use of the HV battery? thanks
  4. So am planning to install an aftermarket satnav on mine (i have a non-satnav 2002 lexus) I do have someone whos breaking a lexus and has the complete original sat nav in it but by reading most of this seems like it'll be really hard to install that? does anyone have a step by step on how to do it? i think i'm gna go for the sony one! and i still need to buy the housnig from somewhere. Any help would be appreciated :) Thanks
  5. Hey guys, seen on the forum a while ago that on the lexus is 06 onwards you can change the centre console display unit lights from there factory green option to white & blue - to match the speedo cluster. Does anyone have any ideas how much this is or how easy it can be done? From what i understand it involves some soldering etc. any info is much appreciated. cheers, Simon.
  6. Hello, guys! I am new to the forum and to the Lexus world.. I just got me a 2016 Lexus IS200t. I have tried to look for parts for this car, but, have yet to be succesful... Does anyone know where I can go that may have parts for this car as far as suspension (springs or coilovers), spoilers, carbon fiber kit, etc... Thank you!
  7. My Parents has recently purchashed an IS220D (not from approved used Lexus dealer), the car is a 2010 60' plate, it has done 89,000 miles, 9 services (6 of which were done at Lexus). They noticed that the heating wasn't working, so called our local Lexus dealer to arrange for it to be diagnosed. They diagnosed the car having head gasket failure, they would need to replace the engine with an exchange unit. My parents were obviously upset at the prospect of spending that amount of money and the staff offered to make representation to Lexus for any goodwill contribution. The outcome was no - They said the reason why was because the car had an 08' style engine fitted, this engine was modified due to the 05' style which had all the issues and needing their engines replacing. They also mentioned that the car needed it's engine replaced due to its mileage. They also said because the car had 3 of it's services done at a non Lexus dealer(6 were done at Lexus) it would be void on warranties etc. After spending most of the day contacting Lexus by many different means we are no further on with having a useable car. The Customer Relations team at Lexus were disgraceful, showing no help what so ever with this disturbing matter!! We have spent many many years talking to many of people about how good a service you receive with Lexus, how could we be so wrong. I am hoping to find out from other Lexus IS220d owners of same age and approx miles that have had head gasket failure can tell me the outcome with there car. I personally own same model car but 2007 57' plate, which was fitted with 05 style engine and I would be able to get a new engine if my car had the same fault.... this just doesn't seem right considering my parents car is so much newer!!! The Pursuit of Perfection.... Not the case with this car!!!! Thanks in advanced!!
  8. As I was driving I had my satnav on and my Hi Fi up load. Each time the satnav gave directions I could not hear it over the music,I could not belive the music didnt automatically lower so that I could hear directions over the music like my Jaguar XF used to do. Does anyone know If this is an option to switch on that I may have missed.
  9. Hi All I've decided to post another Mod for under £10. After getting my alloys back from being refinished in Shadow Chrome the silver Wheel caps didn't quite look right on the car. I have seen that the IS-F has back centers with the graphite wheels which I think looks pretty good, So I started to look around the internet to buy some of these and the only place I could get them was from the USA for £100 for a set! So here's the cheap fix! You will need: Can of Gloss Black spray paint Drill and 6mm Drill bit Scotch-bright pad cleaning spirit news paper or painting paper Super glue 1. Removing the silver Lexus badge. place the badge upside down on a covered surface to avoid any damage to the badge. carefully drill out the tabs holding the badge in place, don't drill too far the plastic is quite thin, just remove the heads. Once the heads have been drilled off you should be able to push the silver badge out of the center cap. 2. Prep for paint. Using the Scotch pad key up the surface and edges of the center caps until you can see that there are tiny scratches across the entire surface. In a clean area put paper and mark out you painting area, If you are working in a dusty environment use a hoover or air compressor to clean the area before hand to avoid getting any dirt in your paint. With cleaning spirit and a cloth or tissue wipe the surfaces of the center caps clean and place them in the painting area. 3. Painting. Ensure you shake your can of paint well before use, to ensure a even and good coverage dust the paint over the center caps gradually. If you hit the caps too heavy with the paint you will end up with paint running and an uneven paint job. Once you are done painting leave the paint to dry. 4. Reassembly. once the paint has totally dried flip the center caps and apply a small dab of glue into the back of the holes where the silver logo studs sit. Place the logos back into the caps and allow the glue to dry. Once everything has dried add the center caps back to your car :) Thanks for reading, I hope you found this useful. Let me know what you think. If you would like to see what else i'm doing with my car please follow me on Instagram @gtownsman.

  11. Hi everybody, I have a 2002, 2.0L Lexus IS200 and I noticed oil leakage on the outside of the engine and I think it is the timing belt set. I will post some pictures (click on the thumbnails to see full image) and if anybody knows what could the problem be, please, please let me know. Thank you in advance.

  13. Subtle improvement for under £10 - Brake Calipers I've just sent off my Alloys to be refurbished and left my IS250 on axle stands on my driveway looking rather sad. With the wheels off I noticed how shabby my brake calipers were looking and I thought I could make some cheap improvements while the wheels were off. I started with a good scrub with a stiff brush and some lightly soaped hot water, I then allowed everything to dry off before wiping everything with a cloth to remove any final debris. Here is what I was left with. I think decided to pickup some gun metal grey spray paint from my local auto shop, after some quick masking and a light dusting the calipers looked like this. I then thought It would be nice to have the Lexus branding on the Calipers, so I printed the logo onto some card and cut it out carefully with a craft knife to make a stencil. I then used the stencil to dust some sliver spray paint I had going spare over the calipers to get the finished product like so. Thanks for reading, I hope you found this useful. Let me know what you think. I'm also going to make some cheap improvements in the engine bay and I will be sure to post on here when I have done them. Thanks George I regularly post updates on what i'm doing with my cars on Instagram @Gtownsman

  15. Hey everyone! I've tried to put this video in the YouTube section but it wouldn't work? Anyway, I hope you enjoy it. I'm an RX owner!
  16. Hi all, I'm looking to buy a Lexus IS200 again after stupidly selling my 2000 SE model a few years ago. I have £1000 available (unless anyone is interested in a 1999 Vauxhall Vectra 2.0 SRI with full factory fitted Irmscher kit and letterbox exhaust as part ex) and am looking for a SE or Sport model, not too worried about mileage but could do with some MOT on it. If anyone has anything availabe, please get in touch. Cheers
  17. Hello, Just wanted to say a hello from me! I picked up my brand new IS300H Executive Edition on Friday! My first Lexus. I absolutely LOVE it. Traded in a 3.0l TDI Quattro Sport Audi A5. Its a massive change, not so powerful, but far more practical! Looking forward to getting to know you guys! Adam

  20. Hi Looking for any old set of wheels for a gen 1 gs300 just while my others are repaired. Ideally a set of the se standard wheels would be perfect but obviously I don't want to shell out too much for a temp set
  21. Hello all. I'm Yiannis from Greece, a happy owners of a RX400h for 5 years now. I'm new to this forum, but i'm not new to forums in general as i was one the people that founded the Toyota MR2 Club of Greece back in 2001. Yep you guessed it! From a Roadster i ended up with an SUV! Hope everybody is doing well, enjoying their excellent cars! Cheers.
  22. Hi all, I think this is my first post, I haven't use the forum in a while so I'll reintroduce myself if I haven't already done so. I'm Dill, 21 years old from Leicester. Have been driving a IS200 sport for around 4 months now that was acquired off my father who no longer needed it. Have loved driving it so far, the silky smooth straight six is just ace. Just thought I'd post a link for you all, I'm aware that a lot of Lexus IS and users of other models have issues with the key casing cracking and breaking due to the poor design of the shell. Since I acquired my lexus I have had the OEM key break on me, which had cracks in it when I acquired the car, and two non branded lexus keys also crack and snap. I was surfing on eBay looking for genuine Lexus keys and I came across these OEM Denso keys from Hong Kong and for a couple of quid they look like a steal so I ordered two. What I plan to do is take the innards out of the two aftermarket keys I have at the moment, put them into these Denso keys that I have just ordered, then take them to a local auto locksmith to have the keys cut down to size. Anyway heres the link and I hope you find it useful, as soon as the keys arrive I'll be reviewing them and letting you know of my experience. http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2047675.m570.l1313.TR0.TRC0.H0.XBlack+Remote+Key+Keyless+Entry+Fob+Replacement+Case+Blade+Shells+For+Lexus&_nkw=Black+Remote+Key+Keyless+Entry+Fob+Replacement+Case+Blade+Shells+For+Lexus&_sacat=0 Thanks and I look forward to speaking to you all soon! Dill
  23. Had the car out yesterday, and managed to reverse into bench that happened to be bolted into the ground! Anyone think the damage is repairable or do you think its a new/used bumper i need? There is a split in the bumper which isn't visible from the Photo.
