you will need to read that engine light. have you done the basic things ? how does the oil, engine coolant look like ? any smoke ? how does the exhaust gas smell? Burned milk smell. .. any idea where it is coming from? if it's sweet might be coolant.What about wheel? the are not hot right ? any chance of clogged exhaust or egr ? if you suspect fuel delivery how is the starting of the car ? Tried cleaning air filter, MAF and MAP sensor ? Tried pulling out the spark plugs ? How do they look like ? Any oil on them or fouling ? Seems the car has done a lot of miles and was it taken care of ?

first thing to find out is the battery charging at all ? silly one but checked the fuse and clean any contacts of alternator cable / connector ? how many miles has the car done ? I am not sure if these aternators have brushes. any chance oil or coolant leaked onto brushes and now there is crud in there ? if the are brush type then slip ring and brushes need to be cleaned. the other thing left to see is and damage to any harnesses.

I think the entire caliper should come with the part else good technician/LEXUS will not rreuse failed parts. plus takes the comfort of living room to.polish the pins.

when I did my brake caliper go is is250, I reused the slid pins. I could remove one the top one but the slower one did not have a head so I couldn't figure out how that is removed. and it wa's the lower has had seized stuck. anyway I cleaned the crud and polished the channel and pin with sand paper and dremel bringing it to a mirror finish.Orginally I had planned to replace the dust cover as WD40 had slightly swollen it. but the parts u got were wrong. I only replaced the dust cover for the piston as I had damaged that by mistake.

anti rattle clips contact lexus eBay store. For part numbers you can ask any lexus dealer. brake parts. Co. UK might have the dust cover and parts for cheaper but they might send wrong parts ( happened to me). Send them pictures and all the details so they don't get it wrong.... maybe.

Just to compare, ML audio in LEXUS is poor in my opinion. I prefer BOSE as they install the audio in car to match the car in different driving conditions and account for absorption and reflection of sound for each car. To me seems like ML was installed by Toyota without too much investment. Everything creeks with sound.

as far as I have read, Bluetooth only supports 2 channel sound. To be in line with say ML 13 speaker which is 7.1 channel?? One will need a a head unit that will support multi channel blue tooth stream, a device that will stream multi channel over blue tooth. I think it's an interesting project but not much market to it and will be very expensive equipment ( a grand maybe). The other way is to see if somehow the head unit directly accepts USB. I am an audio lover and I wouldn't like to know my speakers are not producing true sound. I can tell the difference easily. So my opinion is borrow a Bluetooth device and see the difference. If you think it's fine then go ahead with it. you still will not be able to control music shuffle I think from your head unit or steering wheel. I would also suggest just upgrading your head unit that takes USB connection. Or just upgrade the car to newer models.

what needs to be confirmed if bluetooth stream's 5.1 or more channel. the aux input is 2 channel and I suspect that's the reason it's bad.

what about low revs . Does it become nosier as well? any drone sound on highway ?

conclusion : absolutely no reason to change anything unless it is all about sound.

Guy need some advise. I am planning on exporting a 2013 vehicle. Now the trader seller is vat registered and says he can only return vat of he gets bill of lading. my situation is that I want to keep the car for a month or two at most so I can do any repair work that needs be done. The ultimate buyer is in a non eu country who has requested for the vehicle and preparing to transfer me funds for it. My question are: Should I purchase the vehicle on my name and then export it? Will I be able to claim VAT? Do I need to create a company for it ? if yes then what type? What are my options? Should I purchase the vehicle and not transfer the ownership to myself till I export it ? Since this is first time for me, I will not be making money. Thanks for input

To see who is the previous owner. Verify indeed they have the V5. Verify the car chasis with the car and hpi. I have said all this in email and on the phone to the guy that my visit will cost me a flight and a hotel stay.

Then a trade can sell my lexus if I leave V5 form in the car and car is stolen by the trade ? Where is the logic in this. How am I safe? The one who steals and sells odd my car can claim he paid for it...

Why isn't the trade seller sending me V5 over the email when I have explained to him I love 300 miles away and I need to confirm a few things before I fly in for viewing? Also the trade guy says the car used to be company owned and now they are selling it. Said that V5 still has the company as the owner. How can then they sell the car? They sent me snap shot of HPI report which I asked for over the email. They are assuring me the vehicle is clean. But I am daft or is there a way a trade seller can sell this car ?

24mpg yes. I like how is250 is quiet. I don't like after market exhaust. I have read on this forms that if one upgrades the intake pipe to ISF one, it makes is250.roar.
