Clicking & scraping noise from rear brakes

Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone,

After driving for a while/when brakes warm up there's a squealing and clicking/scraping noise when I apply the brakes at low speed until the car stops.

Main dealer has already had a look at it and stripped/cleaned front and rear brakes. There was no noise for the first 2 days but now the problem has returned...

I'm concerned about the clicking/scrapping noise which seems to be getting louder. Squealing noise is just annoying.. I'm taking the car back next week but any ideas what might be causing the problem?

Cheers,

Nean

I had exact same issue.. took it to bham lexus under extended warrenty and got it fixed.. it was a small metal plate that is placed between the pad and caliper.. that had become loose.

Happened to me... on my RX - on the rears.

Had the small clips replaced, and the 'wonky' pads skimmed.

Fixed it for a few months - now it's back again :wallbash:

The pad retaining pins were fixed for my wife's RX450. We got a continuous screech from one of the rears - so loud it was embarrassing! Only seemed to happen when cruising though - not when actually on the brakes. Took a while to get to the bottom of it.

Glad it's fixed now!
