  1. Past hour
  2. Haha.. Thought that on the Volvo thread
  3. Good point, I think I have mis-linked the two, and the noise is normal, but good through all your tips actually found a/the real problem!
  4. Most definitely. 99% of people have no idea what it is - I’ve been asked if it’s electric numerous times! The other 1% absolutely ‘get it’… and they’re the real car enthusiasts. Roughly the same price as a knackered Mclaren or dancing donkey but there’s no negativity or OTT photography like you’d get with something more ubiquitous. Suits me perfectly.
  5. Today
  6. Hankook Kinergy 4S2 is the way to go
  7. Can I ask how you rust proofed the holes you did? Both sides, what product and what locations? I'm tempted to go down this route as a fail safe, I assume noise ingress isn't a worry that far back and under the layers
  8. Just renewed my insurance with Saga. Gone up to £621 from £520 last year. Bizarrely the excess has reduced to £200 from £600 last year so reasonably happy.
  9. That's a shame and not indicative of my experience either. I am london based but ended with a car from Lexus Leeds. Looking at that car in question, it looks like a pre-AVS and pre-widescreen infotainment car
  10. I use silicone grease in a squeezable tube for door seals and sunroof seals (essential to prevent sunroof seal deteriorating). I dab in a finger and rub into the rubber all round. For door hinges, I remove most of the old grease and just lightly reapply lithium grease from a tin, wiping off the excess.
  11. Just so you know. The inverter coolant and engine coolant have completely different water circuits. The pump driven by the belt is the engine coolant pump you check the level of engine coolant by looking at the reservoir bottle on the front above the radiator(red in pic below). The pump making noise from your original post is the inverter coolant pump. This is a plastic electric pump not driven by the belt and is meant to cool the inverter. The level of this coolant can be checked looking at the bottle near the throttle body (blue) So if your engine coolant water pump is leaking that won't reduce the inverter coolant. Also that wont impact draw from the 12v battery as nothing critical runs off the 12v battery. Its only function is to start the car and power the alarm, security system, lights etc. BTW that noise from your original post may not necessarily be the inverter coolant pump and could also be the high pressure fuel pump (for direct injection) building pressure. Anyway good that you caught your warepump leaking. Get it replaced under relax.
  12. Nice one nothing like abit of Internet Diagnostics (guesswork) haha Out of interest what mileage has yours done? You probably already know this but as a precaustion just to be on the safe side avoid driving it unless necessary you may run into overheating & other problems, unless you can source abit of coolant temporarily to top it up.
  13. Have you inadvertently set it on "auto" so that when it reaches the set temperature,it goes off?
  14. Great that you got it sorted 😀 I'm still not 100% with all the controls 🙈😅
  15. Al, you are my hero for today! Per photo a clear dose of pink crust and when I parked the car flat at street level off my sloped drive, the coolant is in fact on low. So you rightly state the motor is overworking and then that could also result in more draw on the 12v hence I went flat eventually. Car has not quite hit the 10 year mark yet, so a claim on the Relax warranty for a new water pump should get this sorted. Thanks to all who have recently fed back on my posts, investigation over 👍
  16. It's a technique perfected by Donald Trump, say it loud enough and often enough and it doesn't matter what the truth of the matter is.
  17. toughleads.co.uk have a lot of good information and options on their site. Depending on your reasons for wanting a spare, you might want to consider purchasing just the short piece from the plug to the CCID. I believe that the long part of the lead from the connector to the CCID is common throughout Europe; the short part allows for different plugs depending on the market, UK ,mainland Europe, etc.
  18. Have you priced one from a Lexus dealer? Is it very expensive?
  19. Glad you are sorted 😊. I realised after I made my post that you have the touch sensitive buttons, so what I said may not have been immediately obvious. I am glad I have the physical buttons being Premium and not Premium Plus spec.
  20. There is not much risk on the RZ’s as they are unpopular !
  21. The battery has a wire joins straight to the chassis anyway as shown, so if you want to follow the "rules" to the T, you can connect negative here instead, or even connect on one of the 10mm socket jack bracket bolts (bolt thread is 6mm also). Given the positive terminal has the red plastic cover, risk of a short is minimal plus the battery eyelet wires come with an inline fuse or you can add one (if your charger doesn't already have an internal one anyway).
  22. ++ I have a similiar sound rest your mind it's not a problem. Maybe not as loud as yours I think your recording is close up hence why it's audible in the video. When in EV mode the inverter is still circulating coolant it's an electric pump sound, that pump you can't see it's under the reservoir bottle. Keep in mind it's still charging the high voltage battery instead of an engine sound its the equivalent EV motor. Just double check you have enough coolant if it's low could explain why the pumps working harder in theory the coolant shouldn't need topping up as its sealed. There are reports of water pump leaking look for a pink crusty powder near the aux belt the water pump is mounted behind the belt. Your image above is the throttle body, subject to your mileage the throttle plate could benefit a clean but that's unlikely to make a sound. To get to that it's just a 10mm spanner follow the air filter box remove the rubber pipe & you will find the throttle body.
  23. This explains why my NX450+ went bananas whilst waiting for a car park to empty last summer. We were sat in the car with the doors open and the radio on for quite some time but when we were ready to go the car wouldn't start. After displaying warning messages the car did finally start and I was able to drive off. Looks like I was lucky.
  24. Thank you mate for your help. It worked. NX350h with Head Up Display you have to use touch pad on steering wheel and somehow by mistake I have touched speed limiter. I sorted out and all working fine again 🙂 I wish they had not removed the physical buttons on steering wheel for Takumi model.
