  2. Hi, I was looking to buy a front/rear dashcam for the Lexus IS and was wondering what are some good products that can be fitted seamlessly into the lexus without noticing the wiring? Which dashcams would you recommend?
  3. Lol. See what you did there! I almost bought a Volvo V40 or a Saab 95, but given my daughter is turning 17 later this year, I thought I'd buy something I can hand over to her and that she'd have a chance of being able to insure. Ended up with a Chevrolet Aveo - never heard of one before but it ticked all the boxes...
  4. Got my letter today for 2nd key fob - so 7 months from production, 6 from registration. broadly similar to other owners experience.
  5. Where there many interior changes with the facelift? My 2018 already has the updated infotainment etc. I do like the front end of the facelift more mind you, don’t think solar flare was an option however by then…..
  6. No such thing as a normal RCF, they’re all immaculate and driven but persons of impeccable taste! can’t remember of the top of my head but I think it was 2017/18 that the updated infotainment was adopted and the packages changed a bit to ‘plus’ etc.
  7. Not sure how the limiter works but would expect it’s electronic based upon indicated speed. Interestingly, I’ve heard that you can go at least 179mph….indicated.
  8. Today
  9. Yes definitely Madeira - Just looked at the Daily expressrag headline ( yes they really are bonkers ) . Putin is going to drop an atomic bomb on Paris during the Olympic games. It must be true because the express says so.😬. Run for the hills!😮
  10. Work may get in the way yet but I said 'yes' to going. Haven't decided if I will do both days but I think some might benefit from my fault code reader / resetting tools so should make the effort really. Took the car to work today as the sun was out this morning, it still looks a bit tatty despite having the front wing and bumper repaired and painted. Rear spoiler was once very smooth but now it looks lumpy....the joys of fibreglass and filler.🙄
  11. Not a CT but a 2015 Toyota Auris hybrid TS. Re insured with the AA after compare the market search, all around £500+ but nobody I had heard of. Phoned AA and haggled and accepted at £603. Around 80 more than last year. 5 years NCD. Age 45. good area, no points etc and same excess as last year, plus business use. 8k miles per year. 11 years NCD used on my 1996 Volvo 940. £220 fully comp for business use. Zenith Insurance. Not heard of them either, but if accident, sure just written off due to car being 28 years old. James.
  12. Expect the worst then at least you won't be disappointed. I wish I knew the answer but I am afraid the world is going down the pan. I might just consider an island with low taxation away from potential nuclear fallout and civil unrest. Madeira?? Hmm? nice biking roads. Good wine- sercial verdelho bual and so on...
  13. Anybody want to bet against Labour talking about and then bringing in road mileage charges for EV’s as they pay no fuel duty, only 5% VAT when charged at home.
  14. I really hope you’re right but the younger MP’s won’t necessarily be thinking about 5 years time. You only have to look at Labour in Wales - reduced the speed limit to 20mph (no doubt thinking it would impress the Greens and young climate warriors), according to the BBC at a cost of £ 33m, then grown ups got involved and it has been scrapped.
  15. Nice setup! I haven't bought one yet but was looking to get a similar 10inch display. I want to make it seamless with the rest of the cabin so it doesn't look out of place. Have you tried putting it in the dashboard or in front of the OEM screen?
  16. I had an AA wireless on my 21 RX, worked flawlessly, the only thing I noticed was that the battery did get hammered. same device has issues on my NX 450
  17. Hi Tom Thanks for this. I'm going to do the same exercise later this month and will report thereafter but Iexpectt a result in the mid 40's as you have proved which is excellent for the size/weight of the RX450H+.
  18. Thanks I was hoping that was the case! It's done 115k miles so is out of the relax warranty window, but should be within the hybrid warranty being less than 15 years old 🤞 Cheers for the tip about the fan and filter - Will get that looked at
  19. That's useful but notice it states if removing calipers your not physically removing the caliper other than pushing the piston back to be able to fit the new pads. "Hi, it’s same as on non hybrid car however there is one very important step before you start with the change. You have to depressurised the system and disconnect the Battery before you carry any work on the brakes that involved removing the calipers
  20. It's been months already and honestly this is getting ridiculous. For me, it's time to make a statement ourselves, otherwise, Lexus might never do anything about it. Therefore I recommend we all register interest: https://www.leighday.co.uk/forms/toyota-and-lexus-can-invader-registration-of-interest/
  21. Are people having a day out or going all serious and having a night in Coventry?
  22. If it was serviced at Lexus & passed the Hybrid check you should have a 12 month warranty irrespective if its been maintained within the main dealer network or not historically. Under the Lexus Relax scheme you should be covered, best to enquire with your dealer. Have you had the cooling fan & filter serviced (cleaned) ? if not try that first before ruling out a dead cell when it's blocked up with dust etc owners may experience errors or overheating usually throwing out a cooling performance is low warning message on the dash.
  23. I've a 2015 IS300H and today noticed on my OBD reader I've got a pending POA80 code indicating a possible issue with the hybrid battery. I noticed the mpg readings were acting very strange on my last journey, so this must have been the reason. I just had it serviced at Lexus last month, and it passed the hybrid test after initially failing ( I had to bring it back after driving 500 miles). The previous owner opted to service it independently for a couple of years, and didn't get the hybrid battery check during this time, so I was wondering if anyone knew if this mattered with regards to the hybrid warranty? Or am I covered from last months pass certificate? Thank you
  24. I’m with Classicline on a modern classics policy (no NCB build up and must have a daily driver). Tracker required, last year was £900 with 500 excess, the renewal was £964 but I’ve just reduced mileage from 5k to 3k and value down from 87k to 80k and got it down below £800. As previous, IT’S WORTH IT! But I really need to get more miles in!
  25. Try pressing the odo/trip switch to change the info. Press and hold resets the info, but a quick press should show different info.
  26. Confirming the battery linked above is the one I have. One thing though is the vent tube doesnt fit it probably needs an adapter or something maybe it came with one but the used car dealerthat fitted the battery probably didn't bother. I have heard of people calling up yuasa and being sent an adapter free. I have just left mine disconnected for now.
