  2. Ahhh you had the same issue i had with Cruz aerobars... the driver side foot pin would not align with the hole! I know its shocking for Lexus to do that, some lazy git a the factory was being dozy! I remedied the issue by using a dremel to align the foot pin then touched up the edges using touch up paint and finally using screw plug painted in black..... final result blended in with the factory hole... Shame i had to send the Crux bar back because the Yakima brackets don't use the hole and the positioning is different. Here is the a post i made which shows the pictures of the issue and how i remedied the hole: But taking the bracket to a vice to bend it was not a good idea 😬
  3. After my earlier post stating that I have not yet got a 'Full' battery in my NX like I used to in my Prius, yesterday I did. Unlike my Prius it didn't start the engine just as I drove into the garage to spin off any excess energy. Its interesting that the NX seems to keep its battery pretty much 50-75% full the majority of the time, there is a lot less, so far of dropping down to 2 bars and the engine kicking in to top it back up. I know the NX has a different battery chemistry which must be more efficient, plus I didn't realise until I looked at the display, but the rear wheels regenerate too which must help.

  5. That was my understanding - recalls are for safety stuff only. Lexus could choose to give a crap and use their databases to prevent thefts by informing owners. But so far Lexus is choosing not to. How that’ll translate into potential owners also choosing not to will probably become more apparent in the next few months. Has anybody with an RX actually been contacted and offered the plates, or is it only through this website that people are learning about both the problem and Lexuses solution?
  6. There won't be an official recall, not one that involves government agencies as it isn't a safety issue. Lexus can choose to to inform all owners via their database of ownership (which goes out of date as people buy/sell their vehicles), through proactive advertising, inform owners as they bring their vehicles in for service, or just expect owners to find out themselves and enquire with their dealer.
  7. Correct. This is specific NX information showing how the state of charge changes as the vehicle is driven - it lacks scale detail but is essentially the same as all the Toyota/Lexus hybrids with a NiMH traction/hybrid battery.
  8. As far as I’m aware there is no recall. It’s down to individual owners to find the info and hassle their dealer for the plates. If anyone knows different…?
  9. The LC is a GT. A big heavy GT. If you’re thinking of sticking PS4S on it you bought the wrong car - a McLaren or some sort of Porsche would make more sense. Same goes for the RCF and ISF up to a point - they’re not out and out sports cars but you’d get more benefit out of an ultra high perf tyre on those I suppose.
  10. Thanks for the info and yes the tools are in the kit. Going to Bulgaria so zones 1,2 and 3 required . I have a stand alone sat nav just updated so will be interesting to compare once changed , sticking to major routes so should not be a huge variant until i reach Bulgaria where new motorways are built..
  11. Thanks My car is protected with an external steering wheel lock and a huge caravan wheel lock. Also have steel plates. Car security useless It's ridiculous that I have to do this for such an expensive car. Insurance still astronomical.
  12. Regretfully I still have run flats on mine and when the time comes I'll fit non rf's and either Goodyear or Coniti's. From past experiences I know that alone will transform the car but if a puncture does occur and the gunk can't seal it, then it's time to call Greenflag. I'd also add there is another tyre which is self sealing and has very good reviews, from memory they are also available in our required sizes:CLICK HERE, something I will seriously consider along with Khumo tyres which I believe are a trade name for some well known tyre manufacture and again have a very good name.
  13. it is still very funny problem, because when the tires were wrongly installed it was good to drive. Now when wider tires are in the rear it starts pulling. And that happened immediately after switching tires (wider to rear)
  14. Hello, I have a 2018 Lexus LS 500 It doesn't have Apple Carpaly, I read I can upgrade it but need to download a Software File. Anyone has one would you help me please?
  15. Are you able to see if your engine has a cold start injector ? If it has there should also be a cold start injector time switch, usually located near the ECU water temperature sensor on Toyota engines. There will also be an auxiliary air valve of some type (possibly thermostatic) that allows extra air into the engine during starting and until the engine is up to operating temperature. The cold start injector only operates when the engine is cold and cranking to add extra fuel. After the engine fires the ECU adds extra fuel via the main injectors. Not being familiar with your engine and being unable to find any useful information, I'll have to leave it to you to investigate further. But is either of these extra fuel/extra air devices are not working, you will have trouble with cold starts. If your engine does not have a cold start injector (as 94 was about the time things changed) then cold start will be controlled entirely by the ECU. Cheers...

  18. Thank you, your reasoning makes sense. I might try a universal unit and see but like you said a phone might make more sense. I have a magnetic phone holder in my current car and it is very easy and convenient so far, so can probably stick with that too.
  19. Yes you can use the normal factory Bluetooth for audio but i dont think your phone can simultaneously send audio to the factory system and use the Bluetooth to connect to android auto. Also when connected to the android side of things e.g when using android auto the audio on your factory system by default switches to aux. So I dont think there is a way of running your songs through the factory unit while having maps etc up on the android unit. Unless I am wrong. I only had it for 3-4 days before uninstalling it and returning it. Perhaps someone who has one currently can shed more light on this. Also i dont think you can get stuck halfway. At the most you might not be able to push the wires through and decide to call it off and reassemble the factory unit back. The USB you shared wont work as that is a wireless adapter i.e if your system already has wired android auto/ car play then you can make it wireless with this usb. It doesnt add it to a system that doesnt have it. A universal unit might work if you really need a larger screen. But its pretty much the same as using your phone. Perhaps order one on amazon or something see if you like it else return it. I think a brand called carpuride is quite popular in this space. Personally I just find using the phone very convenient. You just need a good mount. You can play spotify and run maps simultaneously when connected via Bluetooth. Google assistant actually understands voice commands and it works for changing artists etc as well on spotify. Plus if you're playing from a playlists you can switch tracks etc using the steering buttons. With the ~500 i saved from returning the android unit and putting in a bit more i was able to upgrade my phone to the latest s24u during the pre order discounts and this phone is something i use most of the time so its not £500 locked in the car and it just made more sense to me than investing that much in a gadget that i would use only when in the car.
  20. Never seen my GS450h drop below 30mpg even after much round-town, except literally while running when stationary for a long period and that normally only cos it was using the air-con/heater.
  21. It seems that if you want a quality Lexus that will last the distance, buy an LS400, LS430 or a Mk3 GS3000 (which I consider a "fastback" LS anyway)...or a 3rd gen RX (next to the LS430, possibly their most bombproof car)). None of those will be a target for canbus thieves either🤬, I now regret selling my 3rd gen as they're selling pups with later models. With product and model expansion, quality is suffering and they'll soon be no better than a typical Merc, Audi or BMW. It's not necessarily the issues and certainly isn't the driving experience, it's the way they (don't) deal with the problems that's the issue. Lexus UK customer service has taken a nose dive in recent years. They (despite the claims) have always had issues but were very diligent at looking after the customer, who always came first. This is where much of their reputation was made but they're fast losing their loyal customer base and repeat custom as a result of the shoddy way they now treat customers. Despicable.
  22. If you prefer PS5 compared to PS4S or conti (7) then I know where to buy my next car from:) Same to people above with LC500’s. Basic UHP tyre seems to be a total overkill for some.
  23. Hi guys I've been fitting a few aftermarket reverse camera for various Lexus IS's and each time I've crudely adapted or roughly made a passable reverse camera bracket but they've never been exact or precise, until now atleast. For anyone unable to get the OEM reverse camera working or want an upgrade for their android head units, I've managed to get one custom made and its bang on exact so very pleased with it. This will fit the standard reverse camera bracket for these style of cameras (in this case a Teyes AHD Sony lens camera). I'll probably stick the file online for sale but for any LOC member I'm willing to share the file for free if you private message me, here's how it looks.
  24. For what it’s worth I’m running Michelin Pilot Sport 5 tyres on my RCF and would whole heartedly recommend them. Wet and dry grip is brilliant and are wearing much better then PS4S/Contis. Around £200 cheaper a set too!! Irrespective what you do, I wouldn’t put the Bridgestones back on….
  25. I fitted KYB parts to my LS430 and cannot fault them.
  26. Thank you for your feedback! Yeah watching the videos always puts me off buying one of these, I am afraid I will get stuck in the middle and be unable to put the pieces back again! I thought we can use the normal audio for Bluetooth / sound without having to use the one from the unit? What do you think about the android auto/apple car play USB sticks on Ali Express like this one? The other option is getting a universal unit like this, not sure if the placement will be okay with the Lexus IS?
  27. I had the exact same issue on our 2017 450h (no leaks however). I had our Pan roof replaced by Lexus last December and they covered the cost fully. Our service dealer (Lexus Croydon) had to make an initial request to Lexus, which they approved. We did not have any extended warranty.
