Well, quite obviously written-off car being sold without explicitly stating it was written-off is immediate red flag. Hopefully, that is clear and that is why I always do checks before inspecting them in person. £5.99 for detailed car check is much cheaper than even cost of fuel to drive somewhere to inspect the car. So I always do that... But what are the odds that same person crashed two cars on the same private plate and I happened to find both of them 6 months apart?!

Only ever had one claim when my car got stolen and they were absolutely fantastic. They couldn’t have made it easier.

Thanks Nick. Wheel on 4th gen measures 38cm so it ought to be fine on that too although paddle shifters might get in the way.

Small is perfect on my 3rd gen rx450h

Anyone know what the correct Disklok size is for an RX? Wheel measurement might indicate a small is ok, but medium was recommended....better to check with someone who uses one hence the question.

Just out of interest, are all the VIN stickers present and undamaged on the inside edge of each metal panel? Or are any missing or painted over? There should be about eight of them.

Update! Ordered the correct part (an ebayer breaking down a CHR by the looks of it). Once again took the front bumper off. Fittest the new sensor, and I get all altogether new error. "Malfunction on parking sensor system, contact dealer". I guessed that perhaps it's not as plug and play as a part as I thought and I was right. I couldn't clear the error or calibrate it as I don't have tech-stream (think I might invest in a hooky copy of the software for the future though). So back to lexus so they can plug it in and press a couple of buttons and magic, works a treat!

Maybe I don't like too many uncertainties or doubts but you would not see me for dust anywhere near those cars. One cannot be sure of anything but gut feeling counts for a lot. Buyer beware is the order of the day, at least for me it is😉.

Best I ever got when I had my NX450h+ was a 51 mile round trip in pure EV mode which involved a variety of road conditions including motorway. Generally got low to mid 40's.

Currently the range is showing around 47 after a full charge and i, achieving around 45. This may grow a little more as the weather gets (and hopefuly stays) warmer. During the winter shows around 38 and get about 32. This is my experience, now on my second 450h+. First from Mar 22 to Mar 24, then new one in which I've covered 1250 miles.

My understanding is they strip the parts and because they are not getting a lot for them just a £100 maybe £200, they collect them in cages and sell them by the cage full. These are organised gangs that send different teams to different areas and do a lot in one go. If they go after cars that are in areas that are risky places for them and they then have the added time of messing about to bypass the plates, they are not going to risk getting caught and will move on.

I found this story kind of funny... as some of you may know I am always for look out for coupe, RC200t wasn't it, but from time to time I look at IS250C, maybe even another RC200t or 300h if they come at the right price... RC200t was horrible car, but it made me £4,400 for me over single year of ownership. So I am looking out for good deals... So the story - late last year I found somebody selling IS250C quite locally, for only £3300. I checked the history and everything looked fine, car looked good, 47,000 miles kind of low for the age, so it was not immediately apparent why the low price. Asked the seller about the car and they said they just want something more economical and cheaper to tax/insure (which is generic answer), no mention of any accidents, but as always I do checks before even wasting my time looking at the car in person. To surprise of nobody it came back as cat-N write-off. Seller was insistent there was nothing of sorts, but conveniently I use check that even provides the pictures of damage if the car ever gone trough auction. So when I sent the the images they were shocked (or pretended to be). Long story short - car was cheap for a reason, and despite minor damage and seemingly decent quality of repairs I don't really like cars that have records of being written-off, simply said - tainted. Nothing remarkable in the end. Few days ago I found this car - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/226164927478 and it is sort of perfect example of what I am looking for, low miles, fully loaded (every single option - ML/Sunroof), nice colour even if black interior is little bit boring. And I particularly like these semi-facelifted RCs, I don't like the full-facelift from 2019 (I just find new lights ugly, even if mirrors looks nicer), but these cars in between (~2018-2019) have all the tech upgrades - large screen, LSS+, electric tailgate etc. without the ugly outside changes. Anyhow - I immediately thought £16,495 is way low for 2019 car with only 23,000 miles on it, so started digging. Description does not mention anything about any damage, although if you pay attention, ebay (and all other decent sites) now include little marker at the side, it just says that there is advisory and car may be finance or may be written-off, so it advises to look further and order the check. Anyhow, I kind of missed it at first, but eventually ordered the full history check as I always do and car came back as Cat-N write-off... again - nothing surprising to anyone. But here is the interesting part of the story... we were discussing the vehicle checks with my girlfriend and she asked if it is possible to see pictures of the damage... and for this car they were not available, however I said "I did a check on other car few months back and I can show you how the pictures would look if they were available"... so I went to find the previous check for IS250C, showed the pictures etc... but something caught my eye... it was the previous private registration plate of the IS250C... What are the ODDS!?! So basically... somebody... probably named Kat goes around smashing two door Lexus'es and I keep finding them for sale for cheap on the internet, because my taste for the cars seems to match with this Kat! Had IS250C in 2019, smashed it, traded into RC300h in 2019, smashed it in 2022... and now seems to be in Merc E-Class E53 AMG coupe... I wonder when that turns about smashed... and odds are I will find it again, because I quite like 2-door E-Class as well and E53 are of particular interest as they come with new MB inline-six. I am even starting to think, this may be some sort of scam - had IS250C for 5 years until it got smashed, then had RC300h for 4 years until it also got smashed... Insurance usually keeps records for 5 years and asks for previous accidents for only 3... so perhaps there is some sort of logic of having an accident every 3-5 years and somehow that makes money... not sure how that can work out as usually insurance pay out is always much lower than it should be... perhaps the person is just unlucky like that.

Lol we should get this topic closed 😊 For future I would only consider Yakima or Thule. Gonna need to attend to the rust forming on the Cruz bike carrier. Btw Cruz response was take them off when not in use to avoid exposing to the elements 😬 like WTF... Also they started rusting after 3 months. But there cheap and cheerful and do the job.. for now!

I suspect the other poster was confusing the different aero profile of the bar with aero profile of the car for the cause of the noise. If they're noisy on an accord they're probably noisy on a lexus as you experienced, which was my assumptions. I had Yakima bars on a previous octavia estate and I thought they were as good in every way as the Thule bars on my mk3 hatch but at a more competitive price.

Have you just purchased the car? Or has it started happening after any mechanical work? Start with the basics: - Tyre pressures - Check ball joints for any play including the control arm bushes - Sticking brake caliper or binding brakes (brake shoes) for the parking brake adjusted correctly - Condition of your brakes - Loose wheel nuts (hope not) - Worn shock absorbers (leaking)? - Diff fluid was original Toyota/Lexus diff fluid used I.E correct grade & topped up to the correct level? - Defective new tyre straight after a tyre change is suspect - Hit any pot holes? The list is exhaustive try to trace back before any work was undertaken.

Also fail to see the comparison between the CT and The IS... Cars are different shapes, height and width. The way the air flows over the cars is going or be different. What might work well for you on the CT doesn't necessarily mean it's going to fit perfectly on the IS. So from my perspective I have tired the Cruz and Yakima and found the Yakima to be the clear winner for the IS.

I initially bought the Cruz aero bars, spent 2hrs on the phone with roof box tech support and ultimately decided to replace them for the Yakima and not had issues since.

I was going to add th Cruz bike carrier are already rusting despite only been on the car since December, not impressed with them but due to length of my bike it will we the only option I could opt for. The Cruz roof bar were defo noisy even at 50-60mph.

@Stuart Aspey Hope you are well bud- did you ever get to the bottom of this issue? I am experiencing the same and it is driving me mad!
