  2. What’s even better …… a garage customer of mine had a Camry Estate, about that era …….. it was absolutely STUNNING a FANTASTIC BEAUTIFUL MACHINE in light green …….. one of the best cars I’d ever seen tbh Malc
  3. Me first... Even found a broken bus stop which I doubt is in use.
  4. Other day and trying to avoid the Bristol air charging zone (something remind you of them tiny windows with wooden shutters from the days gone by for daylight taxes!!), I ended up extensively on some country lanes. Stopped for ablution and prayers on some grassy tracks and realised how scenic it all looked. So a thread was born (sorry if there's already one, and I'll delete). to basically do what it says on the tin. Share a pic or two of you Lex in the gorgeous outdoors!! NB. If we can use somw sort of hosting site to ensure the images aren't too big, nor too grainy for the thread. Clearer the better pls. Ive used Imgur but there's plenty others.
  5. The wife doesn't actually like the colour (too much of a mans colour apparently and not a 'baby blue' as I tried to describe it). But I'm sure it'll grow on her God Willing.
  6. Thanks to you all. Unfortunately the budget was/is tight so I went with the suggestion of getting the best we could afford. This little beauty with excellent service history (full) and no advisories as the owner would get everything done as soon as it was needed. Turned out he was one of the local imams who we finally recognised after we went to the masjid where he leads the congregational prayers. He'd sat in a talk I'd done for the kids after my Everesting attempt (up and down a rocly path on my mountain bike until I reached the hieght of Everest... which I never did) last year and we finally cottoned on. Anyway, he's giving it a full valet. Allowe me to knock him down to £6200 from the asking price of £6900. Well he knocked it down himself to £6500 after I asked politely and I think he realised I was genuine. Then the few niggles I brought to attention - wiper blade arms corroded and wing mirror slightly dinged - we agreed could cost me around £300 if I did the work myself. To top it all off, after the sale was agreed he calls to let me know that for some reason they forgot to stamp the last service, so that was rebooked for another service and a stamp. He paid. Also, upon discussing spare keys he agreed to have a second key recoded for me for only £100 from a contact (so now I have 4 keys, 2 of which are new/newish). Yet to collect it but it's black leathers which won't need too much looking after. To top it all off, he's owned it since 2014 before which it was a cimpany car. On 2011 plate so most definitely not a taxi and the interior is excellent... Thanks all... Pics below (maybe once I've collected).
  7. There is a plastic retainer inside the jet which gives it the pressure it needs. If this isn't there you'll need a new jet. UK spec cars use a "Type A" washer jet, they're about £20 from the dealer. Part No. 85381-30110
  8. That’s a very very tidy example 👍🏻..sadly so many got scrapped for their engines …MR2’s do a conversion to fit the 3.0 V6 ☹️
  9. I removed the rear seat earlier, no leaks visible but the smell was STRONG. Managed to get the car on a ramp and it looks like a hose at the very tippy top of the tank either leaked, or is leaking. Is there an overflow pipe there? Only noticed the tank, because the rear of the O/S sill was very petrol-y and managed to trace it back.
  10. I’m happy for you, I’m not fond of how the system works on Lexus cars though, but then again I’m a nostalgic of manual AC without touch screens and tons of buttons. The best automatic AC system I tried was on a Seat Ibiza, the previous gen to the current one on sale, it was mono zone but it was powerful and simple, immediate.
  11. Never had a problem with the a/c on auto, the system copes very well with changing conditions even changing the airflow side to side with the direction of the sun.. The climate concierge even set the seat heating/cooling very efficiently ..
  12. Imran......... what a fiasco, unbelievable. I searched Youtube and could only find videos that showed the audio and/or menu buttons as individual switches on the dashboard. I'm not familiar with what's available on touch screens, are there no "icon tools" displaying Audio, Menu, Home, Settings, Bluetooth etc? I would have thought these are needed for owners to set/change update parameters.
  13. If you could disclose your model of Lexus ( Marchy?) I can look up the pipe work routing for you on the exploded diagram.
  14. Simply superb. We drove one of these across Western Canada and I can honestly say it equaled my various LS's, I'm envious! Obviously it would be good to know how much you paid!
  15. My September 2022 model is now up to 77km but this time last year it was around 70km, rising to 72km (peak of 73km) toward the end of summer. Car currently has 22,500km on the odometer. Seems it takes time for everything to get fully settled.
  16. Thank you Nemesis. Page 557 of the online manual says it's an option but can only be activating by a Lexus dealer.
  17. As said above, you will probably get your second fob in a couple of months or hopefully sooner. I waited 6 months but deliveries are speeding up I believe. Lexus Customer service is 0345 129 5484.
  18. I waited about 5 months for my second key. On the bright side - got free car wash 😀
  19. It only comes with one key fob. The second will come as a recall letter. It was due to part shortages
  20. Lately I've been driving the car a lot in EV mode only, like some hundred miles, and the dashboards reads 5.9 kW/whatever is the unit although I've been able to reach almost 7 on some particular roads. This also driving very carefully and slow with a light foot, something that I wouldn't do in HV mode. The 100% range is always 60-61 km or 37 miles without AC, I'm still unable to see the promised 70 km even with summer tires. Let's see if it gets better.
  21. Just converted to Lexus - NX450+ and a very impressive car. On delivery disappointed to receive only one key fob. Two months down the line ignored then given run around by Dealer. Can anyone give me Lexus Head Office phone number. Thank You Steve PS It is a brilliant vehicle
  22. If you set 20C in manual mode (so AUTO button off and manual ventilator speed + manual ventilator zones set) then the AC blows air at that specific temperature, like a home AC unit, but if you activate AUTO then everything relies on the system to set every parameter using the cabin sensors such as the the temperature sensor and light sensor so that the unit can “see” which directions the sun comes through the windows and windshield. This is the problem I have, since the remote AC is only operated with the AUTO mode, if the sensor reads a wrong temperature then it won’t work properly. I never use AUTO mode because on Lexus and Toyota cars I find it useless and very slow or inaccurate, so I always use the manual mode which defeats the purpose of having a climate control unit…and yes I’m aware that there are 3 “speeds” ECO/NORMAL/FAST to set the AUTO mode in, but the remote AC is set to NORMAL as default each time you send the command, so you can’t do anything to speed up the cooling/heating process. In any case, I expected to find a cooled down cabin but it wasn’t even remotely warm after 17 minutes of AC running (supposedly), it was still hot. There’s also no way to skip the 20 minutes timer, despite having the car actively charging up, but then again I see the safety mechanism of preventing the battery to be drained if there wasn’t a time limit and you forgot to deactivate the function…but then again if the car is connected and the battery is charting then it can’t be drained to 0%.
  23. Received written confirmation of my booking in August. Nor only did they confirm the model they provided the reg !
  24. Don't keep us waiting .get a pic up 👍😀
