220D Major Service

I've recently just purchased my first lexus. It's a 220d 08 reg with 61000 on the clock.

I purchased the car from my dad who owned it for 3 years but apart from an oil and filter change he never had the car serviced.

I'm now going to book it for a major service. My local lexus Wolverhampton charge something like £450 for a major. My local Halfords charge £230 for a major.

I like the idea of saving myself £220 but will Halfords service it to the same standards as my local lexus garage.

What does major service include ? What brand of filters and parts ? I would just compare it that way if there is value for money.

Would like to know myself what major service means.

Lexus do essential service which is exactly same as lexus major service but cheaper ask about it as I'm sure all lexus dealers do it lexus Woodford do it essential service is same as what Halfords will do if I remember I paid 170ish plus they will stamp ur book also give u written report essential service is same as what local garage will charge it's worth asking I'm surprised they didn't tell u about well want more of u lool😀

It's £329 for the major service on the Lexus essentials plan which seems good value to me for main dealer servicing.

Given your comment regarding the service history I would be inclined to go to the main Lexus dealer and see what they report on the condition of the mechanicals after the service.

For routine servicing, which is generally just an oil change and vehicle inspection, I might be inclined to go to Halford for that.
