yes, my first thought was that screen has lost pixels of whatever and its dead.

But the damp patch started getting smaller in size and disappeared in an hour, so that makes me believe that it was probably a damp thing which dried up.

I don't think it will be damp.

Searching on the net I found the below article. It suggests that your outer and inner screen have stuck together.

Try the simple remedy the guy suggests, sellotape.

Love simply fixes like that: lol:

I guess if it doesn't come back then it may be a moisture issue...bit puzzling though.

I have heard of screen problems with some of the earlier models. Most of what I read related to the screen freezing/sticking.

You can get screen replacements quite readily

A few members have changed them

yes normski, i will try to get Lexus look at it during the service if it doesnt happen again.

if it does, then i will book the car in straightaway

the car is in Lexus Warranty, so they should be able to replace the screen

Lexus don't replace the screen. They replace the whole unit.

If your out of warranty then that's £2800 + vat

That said when in got my car the touch screen never worked (this is how i know how much lexus charge lol).

i replaced the screen myself, at the time it cost around £200 for a new screen from china, i think there cheaper now.

If you are fairly competent with taking things apart you can do the screen replacement in 1 hour.

1 hour is cutting it pretty fine, unless you have a reason to get it replaced so quickly. Its more like a 2 or 3 hour job in reality. The screen has different part numbers also, I had to get a second one before it worked.
